Great experience with my claim process

Great experience with my claim process. The customer support was fabulously helpful, and really kind. The claim itself went really smoothly, and updates on the process came way quicker than expected. Every step was very clear, and I would (and already have) recommend it to everyone.

Akko was a lifesaver laptop theft

Akko was a lifesaver after my laptop and some camera accessories got stolen from a rental car break-in while traveling in Europe. Of course, I had everything documented, but the claims process via email was efficient and straightforward. I provided all the documents they requested, and then shortly after they sent me an email approving my claim and sending the funds for the stolen items. Was a great experience with Akko and will definitely continue to insure my electronics with them in the future!

Fast, accurate claims processing and payment

I was quite surprised how quickly I was able to get my claim processed and paid. Within the space of about 90 minutes, AKKO changed the phone that was covered (I had bought a new phone and the carrier had automatically switched coverage to the new one; I had to have AKKO switch it back so I could file the claim for my previous phone, which had been stolen); advised me what additional information to upload to complete my claim; processed the claim, including accurately identifying the replacement cost for my stolen phone; and sent me the payment via Venmo.

The AKKO company is very customer…

The AKKO company is very customer oriented, and highly efficient in helping me replace the dishwasher that was broken. The reimbursement process is very simple. I highly recommend to go with it.

Required repair process led to unnecessary cost and short-term solution

We were required to use one of AKKO’s recommended repair companies to assess our dishwasher. This resulted in a significant diagnostic fee just to evaluate the issue, which was not an expected out-of-pocket cost.

The repair estimate we received is nearly the same as purchasing a brand-new dishwasher, yet the proposed repair only comes with a 3-month warranty. In contrast, a new appliance would provide a much longer warranty and more reliable long-term value.

While the appliance may be technically repairable, moving forward with a costly short-term fix does not seem like a practical or cost-effective solution. It’s also unclear why customers are responsible for diagnostic fees when required to use specific vendors.

Overall, this process creates unnecessary expense without delivering a reasonable long-term resolution.

AKKO Insurance Reimbursement

AKKO was very responsive to our claim, and understood that our son didn’t know (and was unable) to take pictures of his damaged I-phone prior to repair. We received reimbursement (minus deductible) via Venmo for the phone repair, within 2 days of making the claim. after explaining the situation. Highly recommend AKKO and their staff!

AKKO is a scam

I have been paying phone insurance for from AKKO for my galaxy S8 phone since March of 2023 at a rate of about 7.00 per month. They claim that they will pay 75% of replacement cost for my old phone. Currently that phone is no longer manufactured. when I submitted my claim on my damaged phone they gave me a link to amazon for a replacement phone that was listed at 110.00 and gave me 27.00 for my damaged phone (cost of new phone - 75.00 deductable). I ordered a replacement s8 off of amazon. This phone was defective and i could not activate it or update it as it was so old even though it was listed on amazon as new it was not. What company would replace your old phone with a unit that cannot be replaced. If you offer insurance you should at least give you a phone that can actually be used. I shipped the phone back and will be forced to purchase a new phone. Why did i ever pay them for anything?

We double-checked the Amazon listing URL our team provided and can confirm the device was listed in “Like New” condition and should not have had any defects. Unfortunately we cannot control the quality of devices supplied by Amazon’s sellers, but you will be covered under Amazon’s A-to-Z Guarantee and return policies. Please proceed through Amazon’s support/return options to get a replacement device or refund. Our customer service team has already reached out as well to help in any way we can with this process, and provided a $25 deductible credit to your account for the inconvenience.

Please note that none of our plans reimburse customers for a replacement device based on a percentage of its value. All of our AKKO phone protection plan service fees and deductibles are set as flat dollar amounts ranging from $29-$99 depending on your phone’s make and model and whether the device needs a repair or full replacement. It is important to take into consideration the rates for our plans and their associated deductibles as devices age and depreciate since the replacement value afforded under any insurance plan reflects the current market.

We always recommend checking your device’s current value when choosing a plan, since for some phones that are many years old, they may not be worth insuring. At the time you enroll, you’ll see all deductibles listed out after selecting your make and model cellphone (here’s that sign up link you can view again for reference: https://app.getakko.com/registration/3c/phone). We prioritize being very transparent with all our pricing and deductibles upfront with customers.

Insurance for the people

This insurance is so affordable, and so effective! I love having the option to pick which cell repair place I go to, and the low deductibles are great! I highly recommend it over other phone insurances I've used before!

Customer service nonexistent and id verify virtually impossible

Trying to get someone to reply to help questions is the equivalent of speaking to a brick wall. I've been battling with these people to replace an irretrievable device since Monday this week. The agents are active most of the time but don't let that green dot fool you into believing assistance is just a quick DM away because it is not. Oh and here's the real kick in the groin is that they use a "id verification" service known as withpersona.com. Their Trustpilot review got 1.2 stars because despite using the highest quality scanned image of a valid government id, they NEVER are successful. So after getting past the first hurdle of getting one of AKKO's rep's to reply in a timely manner, if at all then you have the impossible task of having your "id verified" as they call it. It's now been a week since my phone has been gone and claim submitted. Make this right AKKO, you guys somehow have an excellent rating on this platform unfortunately for me that has NOT been my experience. I'm also posting this same review on the BBB website in hopes one of these will get their attention. Its claim #38559
