"Shippo has completely paralyzed my business. Their system is fundamentally broken. They generated 19 different shipping labels with incorrect metadata (address mismatch), making them completely unscannable by USPS and UPS. My packages sat in 'Pre-transit' for a week while I was forced to pay for duplicate labels just to get my products moving.
To make matters worse, they charged me an unjustified $77.31 'Correction Fee' on a broken label and refused to refund it to my original payment method, offering useless store credit instead.
But the most shocking part? During my support interaction (Case #1065717), the representative Sihle M. sent me an email containing the PRIVATE CUSTOMER DATA AND CSV FILES OF ANOTHER COMPANY. This is a massive, illegal data privacy breach. It proves Shippo's internal systems and support are in a state of total negligence and collapse.
I have already initiated a formal Chargeback with my bank for all transactions. They lie about refunds and steal your inventory's reputation.

Not for valuable items, insurance is a scam
Shipped a large box via Shippo. Pricing was excellent vs traditional shippers. Box was damaged, luckily I purchased insurance, so I’m covered. Claim was denied because of packaging. Why did you agree to insure it? It was inspected by the shipper, UPS, at drop off and accepted. I specifically asked them to inspect the packaging and let me know if they would do anything different. UPS said “looks good”. Would not use Shippo with anything of value and DO NOT buy their insurance. It is a waste of money. I’ll ship directly with UPS, FedEx, USPS going forward.
Predatory refund policy and misleading label settings
I created a shipping label and the automatic settings were the wrong size for my printer. When I went to change it I was able to but I wasn't able to change the already prepaid shipping labels dimensions so they wanted me to buy another shipping label which is very predatorial business behavior, I only needed 1 label to send my friend a package. The refund also takes 14 days and you don't even get a refund to your card, its to the Shippo ACCOUNT and only after its in your account can you request a real refund, which is crazy as well because they take so long that you might forget to even refund it.

This platform feels nothing short of a punishment. I don’t know how we tolerated using it for 4 years, its like a toxic marriage. You f&king can’t stand each other, but forced to stay together for the kids.
Using this software is like dragging a dead whale at your ankles. Every time you make a label or load anything, it takes forever. What is worse is the search function is absolutely atrocious, you can search a client name and everything BUT your client will pop up. Often takes numerous re-fresh of the page to even get it to load. For 2026, this performance is atrocious and unacceptable. APIs are locked behind a sales rep, their new updated interface is even worse. Its like a horrible face-lift, whenever you try to do further edits in the address change it reverts back to the old interface. What was the point of updating it half-assedly? The software got uglier and slower.
-1000/10 After using it for 4 years of pain, self-hate, and therapy we are finally moving on to a platform that actually works.

Shippo has officially become the "Big Brother" of the shipping world. I am a small business owner shipping high-value items internationally, and I’ve just experienced their dystopian "guilty until proven innocent" regime firsthand.
The system is rigged. While Jeff Bezos and Amazon have spent years "cheating" the carriers with bottom-barrel rates that bleed the system dry, the carriers like FedEx are now clawing that money back from the small business owner. They hit us with predatory "Dimensional Weight" surcharges and hidden fees to make up for the profit Amazon took from them. When I dared to dispute an unfair fee that FedEx took months to even address, Shippo went into full authoritarian mode.
They don't fix their technical bugs—like their 2026 FedEx verification form that demands a "Street 2" address that doesn't even exist in my profile—they just demand your biometric data. They ordered me to submit a government ID and a "live selfie" just to print a label. I complied, and what was the result? A cold, canned email from a "Support Lead" named Evie telling me my account is terminated.
It’s clear: Shippo doesn't work for the entrepreneur; they work for the algorithm. They would rather de-platform a verified, paying merchant than deal with the reality that their system is broken. If you aren't a multi-billionaire like Bezos, Shippo views you as a "risk" to be managed, not a partner to be supported.
I’m moving my business to platforms that don't treat me like a criminal for defending my bottom line. Avoid Shippo unless you want to be surveilled, ignored, and eventually silenced.
Difficulty in the first entry - where I am shipping from. It didn't like the location: town, state and country I entered, or, how I entered it.
Some difficulty at first navigating the process, but finally got it down so easier to use.

I love that I get to see prices for USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL so I can easily choose the service I want to use. Purchasing insurance is a breeze. Printing labels is easy. If I need customer service, they get right back to me.
