Want a tip?
The tour content was excellent and set at a good pace. Plenty of time to take in the sights and plenty of relaxation time. The ferrv crossings were abysmal - seating was more tightly packed than on an airplane. The hotel was nice, but standard doubles had no view at all.

Disappointing Great Rail management …
I was very disappointed with the recent "Little Trains of Catalonia" trip with Great Rail Journeys, as the service did not meet our expectations for an accompanied tour. Unfortunately, our tour manager did not show up, and a last-minute replacement met us in Paris without knowledge of the itinerary. We then had a local guide for a couple of days (as a guide was good) but was not a proper manager, before a third person stepped in who was unfamiliar with our group. We were left unaccompanied during much of the journey's, and due to these inconsistencies in management and support, I am rating this experience three out of five stars.
The final Manager chastised the group for not giving a large enough financial tip.

The tour management arrangements on this departure were highly unusual and not representative of our normal holidays. While I'm pleased to hear that you found the local guide knowledgeable, I appreciate that the changes in Tour Managers affected the continuity of support throughout the trip. I would also like to reassure you that any gratuities are entirely at our guests' discretion, and no guest should feel pressured to contribute a particular amount. We will ensure this is reiterated with our Tour Management team.
