Onerous contract means you have to pay for the full year contract even when you move house. Your are also charged a fee of £12.00 for collection of the bin. You also have to ring the Green Waste Club to pay the outstanding balance, no other option is available. Waited on hold for twenty minutes before speaking to an agent. Extremely poor customer service.

When I moved house they wouldn't let me end the service or move it to the new house, so I had to continue paying for the old house for 6 months. Then I had an email thanking me for renewing the subscription! I didn't have any notification of the renewal or the opportunity to not renew. This is fraudulent trading behavior!

Terrible service. Repeated missed collection and non-existent customer service. Not fit for service and the company seems happy to accept this as the norm and take your money. Disgraceful.

Missed bin and non existent customer support. I reported the missed bin (can prove it was out the evening before) and nothing. Called the helpline and been on a holding queue for over 30 minutes. Appalling.
*UPDATE* did finally get through on the helpline yesterday just before 5pm and a helpful lady, Karen, looked into it. Called me back today to confirm the cameras in the lorry prove the bin was there so they are coming back today to collect. Fingers crossed. I creasing to three stars because of Karen and her following up, but come on GWC, employ more phone line staff, please!

Missed my collection and claimed the bin wasn't out when I questioned them. Replied asking for a rough timeframe when they came by as I have a doorbell camera so can show it was out and either nobody came or it was marked as not out incorrectly. Was given a rude reply saying they won't tell me the time and won't come back to collect it.

After numerous price hikes over the years, I decided to cancel before my contract renewed on 8th March. They were due to collect the bin and I promptly paid the £12 collection fee. Several emails later and no one has collected the bin nor replied. I brought a lot of business to the area as I was the first in my village to have the bin, but they have shown their disrespect for customers, as well as incompetence. This is in Hereford.

Terrible service from this company. Have emailed and filled out their online form to cancel SEVEN times - with none of these requests being actioned. Have now cancelled direct debit at end of subscription year. Moving house shortly and will not be signing up again - its less hassle to take your garden waste to the local tip

Shocking customer service failed to drive in street then lied says bins not out even though have been for 2 days refused come get, driver does not drive in all streets will be cancelling cowboys.

Unreliable collections which when missed must be reported within 24 hours or you wait another two weeks even though they are often 24 hours late themselves…

We have used The Green Waste Club without issue for a few years now. We have just moved house, not far, and whilst waiting to move I checked the new postcode on the website and was happy to see they cover the new address. Called just now to change address and I'm informed that they actually don't cover this area, regardless of what it says on website, and as our new annual membership has recently renewed, we stand to pay basically an entire year's subscription for no service. Had their website given the correct information, I would have not renewed the subscription.
Have asked for a manager to call back - I won't hold my breath.

Collectors won’t give more than a fleeting glance to see if bin in out! (Hereford collection) I left mine out from night before and I wasn’t collected! I was made to feel like a liar by the customer service. They have refused to collect the bin and won’t give a partial refund for services not provided! Why am I wasting my money on this ?

Update! After being told bin will be collected on a certain date that again failed to do so! What a shocker

Would give 0 if I could. Please never use this company, they miss collections EVERYTIME and will try and lock you into their contract so your stuck with them. Thankfully they cancelled my contract after I threatened them with legal action, so they know their not providing the service they are supposed to. Please just make sure no one gets stuck in their trap.

Overall, the service has been fine from the delivering of the garden waste bin, to the fortnightly collection. The issue has been at the end when we moved home, because we moved out of their area, we had to pay for the length of the contract, we had 10 months left, so we're paying for a service we're not benefiting from. And if the new home owners pay for the same service, Biffa are receiving the same amount of money twice. There is no complaints procedure. And its our fault for moving and not having a crystal ball for predicting said move. Just another company who put money over service first.

No customer service. Rang at 9.00am, this is the time office is open. 25 minutes later gave up again tried several times over the past week. Free phone number but no one ever seems to answer the phone or reply to emails. Used this service before and it hasn't improved over the years. Only want to pay them to remove my bin as contract has been ended and now cancelled.

A really terrible service. Repeated failures to collect rubbish on time and sometimes not at all. The CE told me they don’t have a complaints procedure so I couldn’t complain. When reporting missed collections frequently told the lorry arrived but bins not out when they were. Probably collect green waste on time 50% of time.

Habitually fails to collect and ignore complaints.
This is an atrocious state of affaires when they are paid to do the job they fail to perform.

Good experience with this company so far, but long wait times

We had the service in place, when it came time to renew we emailed and called many times, no responses, no one picking up the phone. Finally we got through to someone and tried to renew and they told us we couldn't because they were oversubscribed, we were literally customers what on earth do you mean we couldn't renew it?!?!
Literally all you need to do is leave the bin here, take our money and pick up the waste which you come by anyway because the neighbours use the service too, how can a service be this daft...
Absolute nonsense from their end.

You can only set up an on-line account after making contact with their call centre.
I waited 25 minutes for the call centre to respond, constantly listening to the message that my call was important to them.
The call centre operative set up the account.
I immediately received 3 emails with temporary passwords, non of which worked. The operatives email arrived and I logged on successfully, changed the temporary password and logged out.
I logged in to renew my subscription and got an error message. Waited a day and tried again with the same result.
Emailed the company to explain and complain, to be told they have a lot of emails to deal with and will respond when they can.
This is a monopoly service so no matter how bad they are, if you want your green waste collected then you have to swallow the rubbish service they provide.
One star rating is generous.

I have just called the green waste club to inform them of the death of the one of their members and the person i spoke to was unsympathetic and stated in no certain terms that the membership would be cancelled even though the person is deceased, and they would not issue a refund. they then wanted to charge £12 to come and collect the bin, stay away Biffa who runs this scheme as they do not have a clue to customer services on how to deal with a deceased relative.
