Clacket Lane Westbound… 2 units ( 4 cables ) were unavailable. Reducing charger availability considerably at a busy time.

I had a little problem getting the connector out of the charger, but an extremely helpfull young lady sorted it, very pleasant service in Costa all round a good experience

The charging at Lockerbie was faultless, then drove to Inverness and tried charging there but the app wouldn’t let me as it thought I was still in Lockerbie had to ring the number for the operator to help me charge, he said had never come across it before so it’s something that needs to be addressed

I took my relatively new-to-me Nissan Leaf out for a trip to London with my partner. With 143 miles of range, we pulled in to Thurrock services after putting 107 miles behind us.

I pulled into my first ever public charger - the payment terminal wasn't working. Neither was the second. Happily there was an app payment option which took maybe a minute and a half to install and sign up.

Now here's where my problem starts.

The Leaf has two charging ports - a type 2 for domestic slow charging, and a chademo port which is rarer than hen's teeth out on the road. I've only ever charged off of the type 2 port until now.

I plug in the metallic blue chademo cable and the charging point says there is a problem. So I move chargers twice more, encountering the same issue before calling Gridserve.

The phone was answered in about 2 rings and the gentleman on the other end got stuck in straight away. He had a good grasp of troubleshooting and was perfectly happy to reboot/remotely connect to the charge points I was testing, and between us we quickly eliminated possibilities.

It wasn't a happy end for me as my DC charging circuit was shorting to ground somewhere and telling the charger it was unsafe to charge my car. The gentleman at Gridserve was able to guide me to one of two much slower type 2 chargers and verified my car was able to charge from it and that my partner and I were safe before ending the conversation.

We ended up stuck there for 5 and a half hours, watching all manner of EV's rapid charge around us as our battery trickled charged to 90%, allowing us to scrape home with 2% remaining.

I was and am very grateful to the person I spoke to at Gridserve for treating me with compassion and kindness whilst an expensive situation developed for me.

Initially the charger did not work and I had to move to another charger. However, once plugged in and started the charger worked quickly and I was fully charged within 30 mins.
The app worked well and helped me realise I needed to change charger and also helped me to keep track of the charge progress.

Arrived at charge point which refused to operate despite many attempts. When finally worked dud so for about 5 mins before cutting out. Moved onto next charger which charged at c20KWh rather than 45KWh specified... phoneline slow to answer and not much help. Not good

Easy to find location and good rate of charge. However only 6 of the 8 units are accessible as two are fenced off due to the expansion building work. Yet they still show as usable on the app 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately the first charger wouldn’t work despite saying it was connected, the second one stopped after adding 8% citing a car issue but then faulted when I tried to reconnect. The third charger just wouldn’t work and the 4th one eventually did the job.

Only 3* as the charge yesterday was faultless on the first charger I tried.

Price has increased by 10%. I had great difficulty in logging onto the app, eventually requiring a new password. Trying to complete the password window was almost impossible. The curser is not easily seen (a different colour please 🙏 ).
After deleting the app and re-installing I managed to log in and start a charge. The Braintree hub is perfect for a specific journey I make twice a year and usually is an excellent facility, however 3 of the 4 loo cubicles were locked shut and the 4th was obviously short of regular maintenance. A shame.

Cardiff west charge. Even at a high power charger, the charging rate was 35KW and was still being charged at the higher rate.

Ideally, things should always work, but it is what a company does when things go wrong that really matters. I had downloaded the app and had become a member, but in the middle of a long journey, for whatever reason, I could not use my app to pay for recharging my car. The helpline enabled me to charge my car and continue my journey. This was an immense relief. For the next few days Gridserve communicated with me in a concerted effort to resolve the issue with the app on my phone. We actually resolved the issue by working together on it. Massive thank you to the support staff for relentlessly helping me and showing a high degree of care.

Far too expensive, taking the mickey and advantage of people 89p….

Generally my Gridserve experience is positive but today was not as good as usual. Nothing major but I had problems connecting to a charger and in the washrooms there was no water ……. Both might be due to the heat?

Incredible. I use EV’s on a daily basis, until I found this location I hated EV’s because the network is 3rd world. Now I’ve found GRIDSERVE fast charge, my life has changed overnight. I arrived, charged and left on my merry way, noticed my email, they sent me the receipt. 1sf class, 23rd century brilliant it’s the future.

Charging throttled back to 29kw appears to be due to full capacity.
