Had a terrible experience today .
I went with a lady that has learning disability the lady wanted to go to the toilet after just being there a few minutes.
I asked a young man that was moving stock around if they had toilets and where they were he replied outside code is on your receipt. I explained I didn’t have a receipt we had only just got there and she needed to go now he replied it’s their policy code is on receipt after been told this for another 5 times I asked if I could speak to the manager.
I felt that this might have been an oversight and the man not reading the situation very well but no when the lady manager came she just said the same it’s our policy it’s not a public toilet and it had cost £15.000 to have the toilets fitted . In the end she said she would open the door but it was their policy you had to have a receipt to use them.
By this time it was too late the lady had gone back to my car with my sister and my mum had gone to the coop to see if they had any she could use.
I personally think they need some training on how to read the situation better my lady was really upset that she couldn’t use the toilet because she doesn’t understand policies.
Thankfully the hotel Beverley Arms across the road was more than happy to help us out.

Just called in to buy some office plants. Came in through the outdoor plant display. What a feast for the eyes! You could just choose a section, take it home and plant it, and have an instant English cottage garden. Absolutely beautiful xx

Enjoyable visit plenty of choice easy to get around. We visited the cafe for the first time today and our breakfast sandwiches which were bacon and egg and bacon and mushrooms were delicious. The lattes were really nice and we were given the choice of strength of the flavour which is a good thing as I personally do not like my coffee strong .We will definitely come back and try their lovely looking meals and homemade cakes .Saw plenty of lovely things to buy especially for Christmas gifts

Called into the coffee shop after visiting the garden centre, what a wonderful place.
All the staff went out of their way to please us.
The food was amazing, great choice on the menu.
Definitely going again.

Complaint about lady with glasses who "manages" the cafe. Just an awful attitude, every customer is an inconvenience. Turning customers away just so she can hoover the floor as well as referring to me as a disgrace of a customer (I've spent over £200 in there so who's the disgrace?). Do you think there is a common denominator with all the negatives reviews on here? She was unwilling to listen to feedback and instead considered cleaning up more important than providing a pleasant environment for her staff and customers.

On Saturday 11th February I took my sister who was visiting me for a week to Harpins Ackworth Garden Centre. In the coffee shop the lady who took our order for lunch was not a happy lady, granted it was 2.45pm in the afternoon, at the time there were only 2 other customers eating. We then went and got a trolley and proceeded to do some shopping. We picked up a tray of 15 bedding plants that had a ticket price of £12.95 for 15 plants. We picked up a few other things and made our way to the till, by this time it was 3.55pm. I asked the guy on the till if he had something I could put on the backseat of my car, because the tray of plants was dirty and I couldn't get them into my boot with the planters I had bought. He said NO. He was as miserable as the lady in the coffee shop. There had been a member of their team unpacking stock from cardboard boxes a little earlier, but I guess he just wanted us gone as it was extremely close to closing. So I purchased a 20p carrier bag that looked like it was worth 1p! Then the couple behind us who were also buying the bedding plants commented they had been charged £13.95 instead of the ticket price of £12.95. I heard them being told the ticket price was wrong, so I asked. I was told they were going down to change the ticket price, no apology. I shop here quite often and always have come away with a happy experience, but not this day. Things could have been so different with a smile and a little more customer service. 28/02. On my past visits I have always found your team extremely helpful and knowledgeable and have had your gift vouchers given to me as gifts and that customer service is important to you.

Went to visit Santa's grotto this past weekend and a lovely experience the elves were very well behaved and friendly and Santa was really good

Visited today, been many times but today I needed the toilet, before we ordered food in the cafe. I was advised by both staff on the checkout I couldn't use them without purchasing something as the code was on the receipt!! Obviously you're not classed as a customer unless you're spending money, what happened to browsing or not finding what you need but still needing the loo?! Only garden centre in the area that refuses to allow non buying customers the courtesy of using the toilet. Will not visit again!!

Sadly the staff just didn't care. The tables were all dirty, half of the tables hadn't been cleared. Our cups were dirty, but they gave them us anyway. Our food came out ridiculously fast, but our toasted sandwiches were barely warm, they literally must have been heated for 20 seconds as the cheese was still cold and definitely not melted. Straight after serving us the teenage staff went and sat down with their friends. They were far more interested in talking to their friends and looking at their phones than doing their jobs.

I took my two grandchildren to see Santa on Saturday the 11th what a wonderful experience they had the Santa was amazing and so good with the children. The grotto was also amazing well done to all the staff it was very organised. Well worth the money.

Wonderful staff, went in-store today, and was looking for some autumnal plants. Was shown an a lovely array of colour and learnt a lot as well as making some great purchases. Also had a bite to eat down in the coffee shop and the food was lovely, with very friendly and polite service.

We went to the cafe shop in Ackworth garden centre for lunch. The food was awful the prices are too high. My friend didn't enjoy her first meal and didn't finish her replaced meal. The working staff was good though did everything to improve the situation. Good location and spacious place but the food was rank.

I always get a nice welcome at Harpins! They stock a range of plants and gifts. We return to see Santa every year because it is such a magical experience and Santa is such a wonderful guy.

Beautiful plants that came totally intact, and really quickly within a couple of days. I now have some gorgeous houseplants and will definitely be recommending to my friends!

I have never failed to be amazed by the beautiful seasonal set ups at Ackworth Garden Centre! Great selection of plants and bits and bobs, and the staff are lovely, especially Josh! Definitely will be shopping here again!
