I would highly recommend HFE for anyone looking to train as a Pilates instructor! 🤍

The whole training experience has been amazing, and a special thank you to Danielle, who has been such a huge help throughout my Pilates training. She has been incredibly supportive, patient and encouraging, and her guidance and feedback have really helped me build my confidence and develop as an instructor.

I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve received from HFE and especially Danielle throughout the course. I’m so happy to have completed my training and feel much more confident going forward in my Pilates career! 🩰🎀

I really enjoyed the level 3 mat Pilates course with HFE from day 1. The material they sent home was very good and useful. The practical days were spectacular. The instructors were very knowledgeable, happy to help and always smiling. The whole programme is very well planned, easygoing and really prepares you for a better career in Pilates. I enjoyed it so much! Thank you so much HFE! Also a big shout out to Molly Marsden and to Clare Roberts for always being there when I needed them the most!

Great support from the tutors throughout the learning and the practical assessments.

Sometimes marking work was a little slow, but it is to be expected when HFE is so popular.

Tom Hothersall was a great tutor for me as he guided me all the way upon completion of my L3 PT course

The support and guidance from the tutors is fantastic. They are really clear with their instructions and feedback, and are really responsive and helpful when you need assistance. I also found the course and resources really informative, and easy to follow. Could not recommend enough!

Eleana has been fantastic- she took over my training halfway through and kept me on track, regular calls and support. Thank you!

RESPONSE to HFE.

“We’re sorry that you feel the way you do” basically sums up my issue with HFE’s handling of this complaint — acknowledgement without ANY accountability.

I also find ‘you are fully aware’ extremely accusatory and dismissive. I am ‘fully aware’ of what HFE says the assessor intended. My complaint concerns his conduct — clicking at and gesturing to me during a live assessment — and the effect that had on me at the time. Does that not matter?

I’m confused by the reference to HFE’s ‘high assessment standards’ and learners not passing first time. I did not fail my assessment. I was unable to complete it following the incident! Suggesting otherwise completely misrepresents the basis of my complaint.

HFE now says the assessor was trying to stop me making a ‘catastrophic error’, while acknowledging in the very same response that ‘this isn’t something he should do during a live assessment.’ That is precisely the issue I have raised from the beginning. A catastrophic error is an extreme dramatisation of events, there was absolutely no safety issue. If there was an immediate risk to participant safety, of course I’d understand. However these participants were all sat down on a fully spring loaded bed, and I wasn’t reading directly from my page I merely looked down. This ‘catastrophic error’ was never mentioned in HFE’s investigation or formal response and seems to have materialised (for the first time) in this public reply.

I’m also unsure what aspersions I am supposedly casting when HFE itself has now publicly acknowledged the conduct I complained about and stated that it should not have happened?

My review is an honest account of my experience and I see no reason to amend it. The assessment matter has now been referred to YMCA Awards, as advised by HFE.

Initial review:
Avoid as they also avoid all responsibility and refuse to take accountability. I was clicked at!! During my reformer Pilates assessment, for glancing at notes we were allowed to have, for a split second. No participants were unsafe, plus no assessor is supposed to ‘try to tell you’ you’re going to fail despite me doing nothing to have caused a fail 🤣. I became distressed and upset as I was so angry and couldn’t compose myself to continue, I tried to do it again, the other assessor was lovely and tried to be accommodating but the the assessor who was very rude then rolled his eyes at me, huffing during his ‘apology’ and despite clicking in my face when I’m already stressed, hfe have acknowledge it was wrong, but because it’s an ‘isolated incident’ and hasn’t happened before it ‘shouldn’t stop me from continuing’ they’re refusing a refund. Who are you to dismiss a persons anxiety? I do not want to continue ANY courses with them due to the nature of this incident not to mention for the year I’ve been signed up, has my ‘learner support’ contacted me? Not once. Although I’m receiving emails to invite me to pay more to extend, ironic how they can contact you about this hey.

The PT qualification the tutor did reply, and was pleasant, but the majority of the questions are worded so ridiculously and the answers a lot of the time are factually incorrect and don’t even match, or are visible in the learner manuals.

I never usually do this but the fact this company have refused to refund and take accountability and merely offered me a ‘goodwill extension’ is ridiculous. The anxiety they caused me as well as the embarrassment in front of everyone to click at me!! stop me and shout at me and they expect me to just go back and carry on?

I’ve been a qualified teacher for a long time and never ONCE have I clicked at a student and then proceeded to incredibly rude and dismissive. I wish there was a way to show you their diabolical email responses. What a shameful company

I’ve had a really positive experience with HFE. You can tell they genuinely care about you understanding and retaining what you’re learning rather than simply passing you for the sake of it. The course is well structured, it’s easy to find the information you need, and support has always been available when I’ve needed it.

A special thank you to my tutor Eleana, who has been incredibly helpful, patient and approachable throughout. She always takes the time to answer my questions properly. Having a tutor who genuinely cares about helping you makes such a difference, and I’ve always felt comfortable reaching out to her when I’ve needed support.

I have just completed my Level 3 Mat Pilates course with HFE and would recommend.

My online support tutor Eleana was great, very supportive and helpful. Eleana has so much knowledge in the Pilates / fitness industry. Eleana helped me with any questions I had during the course and was very supportive and patient in helping me with my coursework and my practical exam prep.

The in person training dates with Tracey and Sarah were very thorough and enjoyable. Tracey and Sarah were supportive and had an extent of Pilates knowledge so I felt ready for my practical exam and to teach classes.

I recently completed my mat Pilates instructor training with HFE (as well as my reformer course which I need to finish).

I did my training in February/March with Claire. It was a virtual course and it was okay but could do with a lot of improvements as it wasn’t very in depth and we were kind of just left to ‘wing it’ with our final assessments. Another lady popped on the call in the second week but I’m not 100% sure of her name and she was great.

However, I did my reformer course in person with dawn and she was absolutely brilliant! Couldn’t recommend her enough, she was so knowledgeable and informative.

HFE have been so lovely, I was in contact mostly with Molly Marsden and she is the most loveliest girl ever, so kind and chatty and so willing to help, really lovely girl.

Overall I would recommend the Pilates course with HFE but not virtually, it would have to be in person.

I have just finished level3 teacher training mat Pilates with HFE. I enjoyed the whole program very well organized, great support from my tutor Molly Marsden. And also Caire Roberts for making the weekend’s training a fun experience. The whole curriculum was very well structured.

Wonderful, all the tutors in person and online were amazing. Loads of support is given throughout, I would recommend to anyone wanting to get qualified.

I have given it 2 stars because when you actually get hold of someone they are great, also the content and 2 days workshop are well executed. However the management of the support team is shockingly bad. 1 week before my practical exams there were no Reformer tutors as they were both on holiday at the same time! Although I did pass they then did not make contact for 8 days until I managed to get someone to pick up . Good team very badly managed or possibly understaff and over sold on the courses. I have a number of other courses to do and will not be using HFE.

Was a little bit iffy when starting . Did get some great feedback from Danielle and Katy and Dawn. Did struggle with my video but 2nd attempt and got it .
My experience nearer the end was very stressful but it didnt help time was running out and I had strict goals for myself .
Hfe was happy to move the date to relief pressure .
Overall I say it was a good experience and I went into this with no instructor experience at all . Only by being a participant in classes .
Bottom line is yes things are tough but you can get through it . Yes hfe do like their work to be of a highier standards unlike some companies who can push numbers through quickly . but believe me if I can do it anyone can . Im happy that ive passed with hfe because I now know ive trained to a higher standards then most companies .

The in person teaching was useful and informative.
The online assessments were awful and very inconsistent with the answers. I found alot of the 'correct answers' were factually incorrect when compared to text books and reliable web resources.
I also found the support horrendous. I had submitted pieces of work which would then be referred with some of the feedback indicating that i had not included things that i did infact include. After submitting it again without amendments to these points, i miraculously passed. Im not the only person to experience this. In the mean time i was ringing constanty trying to get some support about it all and it took me a week to get hold of someone despite trying every number multiple times. I then was emailed with instructions to call to book my viva, which took me another week to finally get hold of someone. When it finally came to my viva, i missed the phone call by a couple of minutes, i called back instantly and yet again was unable to get through. I called back to back over 20 times until my support tutor finally answered, considering atleast 10 minutes should have been set aside for my viva and i called well within this slot, and was told that as my slot has passed i would need to rebook.
Many other people on my course have also complained about the difficulty of contacting support tutors.
Maybe something needs to change.

Very comprehensive curriculum, website was easy to navigate at all stages, be it accessing information or completing assessments. Supportive tutor, accessible and helpful at all points.

In short, I feel I have achieved a robust and valuable qualification, underpinned by an excellent knowledge base and great teaching.

I had an amazing time using HFE for my qualification ! A massive extra shout out to Eleana my support tutor who was constantly answering my questions, and giving me advice to achieve this
