We are absolutely furious with Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors!

We came to them desperate for help with a serious legal problem that was affecting the safety, privacy and dignity of a vulnerable and disabled woman. They claim on their website they fight for justice, civil liberties and hold powerful people accountable. This did not reflect our experience.

We sent them a few polite emails asking for help about civil liberties and human rights. We then received a response from their "Client Care Team" saying they considered our enquiries "repeated" and that they don't have capacity. The email also stated that they would block further emails and our IP address if we continued to make contact.

Because they have repeatedly stated that they do not have the capacity to help with the equality and human rights (its been ongoing over 1 year), and their recent reply about blocking emails and IPs, we felt unable to explain the situation further. We were left worried that her situation could/would worsen and she was already feeling scared, confused and under huge stress while important deadlines are fast approaching. The tone of their client care message added considerably to that stress. How is this "fighting for rights"?

This firm talks about justice but when a real person needs help with discrimination, harassment and human rights, this was our experience. We found this deeply disappointing.

Please be aware of our experience with Hodge Jones & Allen. It may be worth considering carefully before deciding to contact them.

Ruth Harris and her team saved my life. Ruth was my defence solicitor when I arrested and subsequently was charged with a criminal offence based on an untrue allegation. It was an extremely horrific time in my life that lasted 4 years. From the outset I was instantly impressed by Ruth’s honesty, knowledge and ability to rationalise scenarios and delegate tasks to her team that were extremely time consuming whilst always keeping me informed at a personal level that I honestly don’t think could be replicated by any other lawyer. Not having been through anything like what I'd experienced before and not knowing what could be done at a time in my life when I thought nothing could be done.

I eventually, with alot of pushing from my family reached out to hja solicitors, via Cambridge University Law Clinic and put this part of my life in their hands.

I'll have to admit from the start they did everything right and I would personally recommend their services in pretty much any matter after the struggle I had.

The way they solved the case with their hard work behind the scenes and then only asking questions that mattered so they could continue forwards is in my mind just the tip of the iceberg.
