Location of apartment and the ease of entering the apartment.

Extremely disappointing experience.
I paid £786 for a booking, but shortly afterwards the property owner contacted me to say that the dates were not actually available.There was’t option to cancel directly through the website. I had to email customer support, only to be told to call them instead. In total, I had to call three times. The first adviser couldn’t resolve the issue, and after the cancellation was finally processed, I received no confirmation and had to call again just to get it in writing.
To make matters worse, I eventually received only £783 back instead of the £786 I had paid. I was never warned that I could lose money because of currency conversion or exchange-rate differences.It may only be £3, but that is not the point. The booking could not be honoured through no fault of mine, so I expected a full refund.Three phone calls, no cancellation confirmation until I chased them, and then a refund for less than I originally paid. A very frustrating and disappointing experience.
Update:
After posting my original review, I discovered that although the price was displayed to me in GBP, the payment was processed as a foreign-currency transaction. I was never clearly informed that the payment would be processed in euros, nor did I knowingly agree to pay in EUR.
As a result, my bank charged me a £23.51 non-sterling transaction fee. Avoid at all costs!

Holidu is good. I receive many bookings from Holidu. Their website is easy to use. If I have a question or need help, they are very prompt & helpfull

Straight forward website

Holidu were fine it was Sykes holidays who took over handling the booking they asked for extra payment from the price I paid to Holidu it took many phone calls and Holidu attempted to contact them on my behalf
Eventually they agreed to refund the extra charge but refunded holiday payment in full by mistake so I had to rebook it was very stressful

In March 2026, we booked a holiday home in the Spanish Basque Country through Holidu for July 17th to 21st, perfectly timed with our flight to Bilbao. On July 9th – just one week before departure – we were suddenly messaged via WhatsApp by the homeowner about an "error". Shortly after, we received an automatic cancellation from Holidu. From that moment on, there was total radio silence.
We called, emailed, and tried to establish contact countless times. Holidu simply did not answer. Their own in-app chat platform seems designed purely to ignore you as soon as issues arise; they abruptly stopped responding. The Spanish homeowner claimed Holidu would arrange alternative accommodation, but absolutely nothing was done. It wasn’t until the evening of July 21st – when our trip was practically over – that we received an email from Holidu stating they were "deeply sorry".
Due to this breach of contract, we faced massive stress and had to book a last-minute alternative that was twice as expensive. We ended up in a mobile home at a campsite in the French Basque Country instead of the Spanish Basque Country. Because of this, we had to completely alter our holiday plans and pay extra fees to the car rental company due to our sudden stay in France.
After weeks of emailing back and forth – with Holidu taking a week or longer just to reply – they finally admitted their major mistake. Their "solution"? A laughable compensation of €50, while we incurred over €300 in demonstrable extra costs due to their negligence.
With this company, you are completely on your own. Do not book here if you want any certainty for your holiday. Legal aid and the ECC (European Consumer Centre) have already been instructed to claim full financial damages.

Very easy to book and communication was very easy and efficient.

This was a wonderful place to stay! A very cosy, large and spacious house with a huge private garden, a private swimming pool, sun loungers, a barbecue, and everything you could need for a relaxing holiday.
We absolutely loved our stay! It was peaceful, quiet and incredibly cosy. Everything was perfect for a relaxing break.
