Penny is a great teacher and a very knowledgable person. Her content is of high quality.

Penny de Byl is an amazing teacher. She doesn't take her students or her knowledge for granted. Her courses are so well informed and easy to follow. As opposed to many other courses and teachers that advertise to beginners, she shows great attention to the fundamentals and explains them well in detail. You know a quality teacher when you see one. It's the type of teacher you WANT giving you homework. Hopes to return as a student for years to come.

I recently got back into Penny's unity shader course after some time off and I noticed she made announcement asking her students to review her. I first put it of like most "review requests" and kept pushing through the course, trying to decipher to complicated world of computer graphics. Not more than twenty minutes after I'm hard at work deciphering the latest on rim lighting and trying to understand how my code is effecting RGB color channels. The next lesson is a challenge on figuring out what code is being used to change the look of an example model. Upon trying to find the answer it dawned on me to play around with the RGB channels directly on my material so see how they were effected buy the shader code to help me get a better understanding of the fundamentals. Just like that my understanding clicked and I had one of those rare and valuable "Ah Ha" moments that can be so few and far in between in the complicated journey of 3D. But that is the amazing thing about Penny. Her ability to make topics hit home, her understanding of the importance of fundamentals. More important than her mountain of knowledge is that she is an absolutely great teacher. Shes got that superstar appreciation from, meaning when she releases a new course I just buy it. I don't care what its about, I wont be disappointed and neither will you.

Penny teaches really well and understandable. With her many years of game development experience, every concept she teaches truly makes you feel like you can do more than you though in your projects. All the courses I bought from her not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. Thank you very much for all the content!

tHE BEST TEACHER I HAD EVER

Holistic3D courses help students take insightful steps towards an accomplished outcome by furnishing them with a necessary understanding of the basics. Diligent students can use that as a springboard. Ah, my abstract wording, sorry.

The instructor provides a wonderful step-by-step which arms students with the tools they need to succeed. A MUST for anyone thinking of getting into game development, but uncertain of where to begin. :Thumbs up:

Yes.This is fantastic course. I have started this without deep knowledge of programming. I always use shader forge in Unity and now I discovered a lot of new things for myself, but if you make some additional video materials for particles and "custom data" in shaders it will be brilliant:) Thanks!

I have a phD in CS, and have worked in the field over 30 years. I have never had an instructor that I’ve learned more from. Her examples and explanations are brilliant. I have taken 4 of her courses so far and will likely take them all eventually. I highly recommend her.

Penny is a wonderful teacher and her passion for the topics she teach rubs off on the student.

The courses are build with beginners in mind and almost every course takes you from "huh?" to "duh!" (the only exception being the advanced courses; but they build upon previous courses, so if you need the foundation first, she has you covered).

The community behind is very strong and if you need help with anything, you can find it there.

I would recommend Holistic3d to anyone interested in mastering the topics she covers.

Penny can take a hard going subject and bring fun and brightness to it. Her intelligence and humour make learning a really pleasant experience. Now. If only my school teachers had had anything like the same skill.

The course I enrolled in (Design patterns) explains the concept well with given real life examples that can be used in actual development. It not only focuses on the concept but also is tailored to the game engine specifically. Overall a good insight and an up to date course

The way she explains the topics, makes you finish all of her videos the same day. A great teacher and a great person.

I took 3 class as of now with Holistic3d. I started with learning AI and Penny (and her team) is the first person to teach AI in way that are accessible to anybody. She's not just dumping the code with a few instruction and calling it a day and then refusing to help further with your questions.

To follow the quote of Einstein : “If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself.”

Penny is the only person I found that could teach AI to a 6 years old.

This is why I keep on taking her classes as I progress.

My aim was to learn the basics of animation in Unity. I had tried several previous tutorials but was still struggling. I found this tutorial on YouTube ' Mechanim & Mixamo in Unity 5: The Basic Basics!' and found it very easy to follow. I'm not sure what was the difference but using this tutorial all the pieces just fell into place and suddenly I found I had the understanding I was after. I then joined Udemy and enrolled on further courses with Holistic3d.

Penny De Byl is a great instructor who really goes above and beyond in helping provide great content and support to her students. Not only are her courses great, but she provides useful, practical, and unique content that goes beyond the beginner-level stuff you find everywhere else.

I have been in the web development since last 10 years. Making web based games, Simulations and apps. I always wanted to move to 3D game programming as a next level. Also it fascinates me as it includes graphics, animation and AI.
3D game programming has always been considered as the one of the most challenging development process and I was not confident enough to move to 3d game programming 100%..
I read several books, blogs on 3D game programming in Unity. Even did certifications from reputed academies. However my skills were limited to the tutorials and could not break the box and created custom stuff that i visualised. I knew that I have to work on fundamentals.
One day I read about Penny, Holistic 3D and her experience with Unity and enrolled to course titled "Mathematics for Computer Games Development using Unity" on Udemy.

After first few lectures I wrote to in comment that "This is a absolute must course for beginner 3D programmer,,,,,". I was so impressed with the way Penny has explained and showed how easy underlying math in 3D gaming is.
After finishing Math course, I immediately enrolled in few more courses form Holistic 3D on Udemy.

Each course is carefully designed for certain objective. Presentation is simple and that's the way it should be. Cost of each course is much less than any 3D game programming book on the shelf.

Thanks to Penny and Holisitc 3D I could finish my mobile game (Pet simulation). And I am much more confident now to create custom effects and behaviours without or using plugins.
I will recommend Holistic 3D everyone who want to start 3D Game programming career or go to advanced level by learning Artificial Intelligence in Games.
