Professional Negligence and Total Lack of Accountability

My experience with Home Shield England has been a distressing lesson in poor craftsmanship and corporate indifference. After enduring high-pressure sales tactics, the installation was conducted with a total disregard for my home. No dust sheets were used, resulting in heavily soiled carpets, and the team utilised my personal vacuum cleaner and waste bins without consent. Most significantly, the fitters caused physical damage to my window frames and a study desk valued at over £325.
Despite completing the work on March 26th and my raising three polite, formal requests for a resolution, the company has not arranged remedial work visit. They are currently withholding essential paperwork and have failed to schedule remedial repairs, despite a supervisor inspecting the damage weeks ago. I am now forced to escalate this matter to Trading Standards and the Small Claims Court to recover my losses. Prospective customers should be wary: once they have your money, the "service" appears to end entirely. I am happy to support you if you've faced similar situation like me and is battling hard with Homesheild.

Buying new windows.

Zach was fabulous and honest and genuine from start to finish. Never felt like I was being up sold I was met with integrity every step along the way. Very good quality products made for me. I am upgrading a property with single glazed original windows the job was not the easiest. Honestly everything has been faultless. Everything to my time scales and workings. Workmen who came over to install were polite and hard working. Upfront when one very minor issue occured. After install follow up care and fensa certificates sent without any hassle. It's been absolutely fantastic dealing with this company homeshield and Zach. I will be buying more windows and some sliding doors from zach as they have been so helpful. Outstanding service on all fronts - faultless. Thank you for my fabulous upgrades.

Disappointed with the aftercare

Disappointed with the aftercare, the fitters damaged my property when fitting the windows, and Homeshield wouldn’t even listen till I paid in full, now I just get the run around, the surveyor didn’t realise the front of my house was one whole frame and in taking out my old windows shifted the front of my house so the windowsill doesn’t fit back, and the front cladding the just tried to screw back leaving it unsightly with screw heads showing and the cladding under the window they patched with plastic strips to hide the saw marks where the tried to cut the window from the frame, they now say they won’t do anything as far as they are concerned it’s tough

However, we must respectfully clarify a number of points raised in your review.

All works carried out at your property were completed in line with current building regulations and industry standards. The installation process, including the removal of existing frames and installation of new units, was undertaken following a full technical survey and in accordance with standard fitting procedures.

With regards to your comments about damage and structural movement, there was no evidence identified during or after installation to suggest that the integrity of the property had been compromised. As is standard practice, existing structures such as cladding, trims, and surrounding finishes can be affected during removal of older installations, particularly where previous frameworks are integrated into the building.

It is also important to note that the installation was completed, and all works were signed off at the time, confirming satisfaction with the installation. Our payment terms are clearly outlined within our contract, and completion of payment is not linked to withholding support, but rather part of agreed contractual obligations.

Following your concerns, we have remained open to reviewing any legitimate issues raised. However, the matters described fall outside of our scope of liability as per our Terms & Conditions, particularly in relation to decorative finishes and pre-existing structural elements.

That said, we are always willing to work constructively with our customers. Should you wish to have the matter independently reviewed, we would be happy to arrange an inspection in line with our complaints procedure.

Excellent service and a top quality finish!

Zach gave me the assurance of an A+ grade replacement of my conservatory doors and windows, which had lost their insulation, causing my property to become unbearably cold, with the presence of mould on the base. He confidently managed the costing and survey, and secured my booking for installation to occur a year later, as per my request.

Due to an oversight regarding the ends of the frame and access to the top windows, a replacement had to be ordered, but to my surprise, this only resulted in a delay of just one week.

On the day of the installation, there had been a issue with parking, since the large and heavy components had to removed from the lorry carefully, taking much longer than I had anticipated. Thankfully, everything worked out after a difficult start.

The installers finished in a day (the availability of parking causing delays) and the result was extremely impressive. With the doors closed, the installation was immediately apparent: it felt warm and quieter. The silicone required several days of airing the property to dispel the pungent smell, but due to the time of year, that was perfectly acceptable.

I am very happy with the result. The installers performed their work thoroughly and meticulously, ensuring I was satisfied with the result. Credit must also be given to Zach for his communication and direction.

Excellent job done very happy customer

I say excellent job done from the beginning to the end. In the first stage I have given an excellent information by the project manager who visited me in time and answered every question I asked him. I was avare of everything will go smoothly in a trusted way..After all explanations were made, then I have shown the samples of materials, which made me to pay the first stage deposit.
Secondly, every question in my mind I emailed answered even in different departments by the company. It was very easy to reach out when there was a need. My trust grew towards their understanding of customers need.
After I paid the second stage deposit I received the installation date I also agreed because it was convenient for me also.
The day of installation two men came in good time, and started to remove the old door, patio door and the bathroom window. In every stage of installation they answered every question I asked and they listen to what I said in a very good communitive way. In other words there was a two way communication and respect to the customer shown throught out from the beginning to thd end..
After all three installations completed they cleaned the areas of the place where they worked spotless..
Then each and every glass were cleaned.
The old windows and doors and the rubbish taken away, and the ground swept to their best as much as possible.
I am very happy that I used Homeshield company for having brilliant double glazed windows and patio door.The reason for that is my house is much more warmer, and noise free. There are less outside noise I hear now when I am enjoying the new double glazed doors and windows..

Lastly I recommend Homesheild to everyone in different financial situation also.They are very helpful and provide an excellent service in return..
Very good value for money especially, during the times of high cost of living rising in UK.
I would like to thank to HOMESHIELD very much for their excellent service in every stage.

5* Service!!

We are so happy with our new windows and doors! From start to finish it has been smooth sailing. No delays or problems. We didn’t wait long for them to be fitted from ordering either. A little under 2 months. Which is great for 9 windows and 2 doors. Zach has been amazing at keeping us up to date with its progress, answering all my questions. Adam who did my survey was very professional and again answered more questions. And then the fitters, they worked so hard and did an amazing job. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure the job was perfect before leaving on the final day. We honestly couldn’t be happier. And the house looks fab! Thank you

Helpful Team and High-Quality Windows

We specialise in the supply and installation of complete new windows and doors, which are supplied fully fitted with handles as standard.

Very happy with the work

Very happy with the work. Homeshield changed all the windows in my house and installed a new back door. The team was friendly, worked hard and everything was done very nicely. The windows and door look great and you can feel the quality.

Good communication and they left everything clean after the job. I’m very satisfied with the result. We will definitely use them again for my new porch and also my client projects.

Actually mind blowing

I really hoped it wouldn’t come to this.. but here we go.

The windows were installed after over three months, despite a 6-10 week lead time.

Communication with Homeshield is like nothing I have ever experienced from a company taking such large sums from people. You are lucky to get a reply every few weeks, if you’re lucky. If you try to call you just get this infuriating AI chat it and no one ever ever ever calls back. I’m starting to wonder if there are actually any real people in the office. I think it’s just (weirdly they asked me to remove this name but read any of the other reviews and it’s the sales guy) running about getting the sales with literally no regard for what happens after.

There were several points in the process where I thought I had been scammed as I was not kept abreast of any progress with my order until the point of kicking off a bit.

Anyway.. fast forward and the windows arrive and are being installed.

The installers do not protect a thing.. no sheeting no anything, just straight in smashing bits out.

In the process they picked up a box clearly marked fragile and threw it across the room, smashing an antique lampshade - when I noticed and asked about it as they were leaving, they just responded ‘are you going to tell the office?’

I then go back into my house to find that there are filthy footprints everywhere, even in rooms where no windows were being fitted. I then find that there has been some rummaging for a usb plug and my guitar has been picked up and left on my sofa.. weird, fairly innocent, but still massively inappropriate.

So then for the next few times (3 visits in total) I felt I am not able to leave my house for more than an hour at a time when work is being done.. I literally can’t even be bothered to go into all the weird small and uncomfortable instances in my house, which alone are enough for me to write a review.

I’d had a custom bench made for my dining area, which was only installed because the window installation was cancelled last minute and I couldn’t cancel that appointment so assumed the guys would work carefully around a customers furniture.. NOPE. Concrete plaster dust no protection, standing all over it, foot prints, and then when I made a point of this not being ok having blobs of plaster and concrete all over the bench they just told me to calm down and they would get it off when it’s dry.. which they did do, but by this point there are stains as a result.

So now it’s all installed. Luckily this is the best part of the experience. However I write this review having just noticed a lovely freezing cold draft blowing at me, as it appears the installers did not properly insulate and foam around my window and now a draft is literally coming in from underneath. I wish
I could post pics.

All of these things would have been easily resolved but in the single email response I’ve had from Homeshield over the period of about a month, they inform me they are only able to process a complaint ONCE THE BALANCE IS PAID?!! How convenient!!

Essentially they’re asking you to just trust them that once they have all your money, you’ll get a form of compensation.. which is outrageous considering the abysmal comms, it’s kind of laughable that they would think I would ever hear from them again after that.

My balance isn’t even a lot of money but for the weird and and mind blowingly bad experience I’ve had, it’s actually unbelievable that they just will not get back to me, and now they are holding my FENSA certificate ransom.
I have had to contact FENSA directly to chase them.

Absolutely at my wits end. I can’t believe a company would treat someone like this and get away with it. I think they’re just a bit of a con.

I note that they reply to reviews almost instantly, but just you try getting any resolution after point of sale!

Overall I’m quite happy with the windows, with the exception a bit of scrappy finishing and my newly discovered draft, but the price was reflective of this.

All I want at this stage is my FENSA certificate. The balance payment covers the cost of my damaged property and all the finishing work I’ve had to do.

Proceed with extreme caution.

Firstly, I want to address the points you’ve raised seriously.

Lead Times & Communication
We acknowledge that your installation took longer than the original estimated 6–10 weeks. While there can sometimes be manufacturing or scheduling pressures, that should always be communicated clearly. If you felt left in the dark, that’s something we need to reflect on internally. We do have a full office team, and while we use AI to help direct enquiries efficiently, there are always real people behind the scenes managing projects and aftercare.

Conduct on Site
The behaviours you’ve described lack of protection, dust control issues, damaged property, and inappropriate comments are not acceptable standards. We expect all installation teams to:
• Use dust sheets
• Protect customer property
• Maintain professionalism at all times
• Leave homes clean and tidy

If any of this fell short, we will be addressing that directly with the installation team involved.

Damage & Bench Issue
Property damage and finishing concerns should always be reported so they can be assessed properly. We never dismiss legitimate damage concerns, and if something has been stained or damaged, that requires review not deflection.

Draft / Insulation Concern
If there is a genuine cold draft, that is something we absolutely want to inspect. Proper foaming and sealing is part of the installation standard, and we would not ignore that.



Regarding the Balance & FENSA

For clarity:
• Our policy is that accounts must be settled before formal complaint investigations and certification are finalised.
• FENSA registration is processed once an installation is complete and the account is paid, as per contract terms.

This is not about “holding anything ransom” it is standard procedure across the industry. However, that does not mean concerns are ignored.

If there are outstanding issues such as a draft or finishing defects, we are happy to arrange an inspection visit to assess them properly and formally. We cannot resolve issues we are not given access to inspect.



JP, we do respond to reviews quickly because we care about our reputation, but resolution happens through proper channels not in a public review thread.

We would welcome the opportunity to:
• Inspect the draft issue
• Review any finishing concerns
• Assess any alleged damage
• Bring the matter to a professional conclusion

Please contact our office directly with your job reference so we can escalate this to senior management for review.

I’ve used this company twice now and have been really happy both times. First job was about two years ago for a composite front door and bifolds, and I’ve just had them back to fit new windows.

The whole process has been easy from start to finish, pricing is very good, and the quality of the products and fitting is excellent. The fitting teams were professional, tidy, and knew exactly what they were doing.

I came back as a repeat customer because of the quality and the customer service, and they didn’t disappoint. Would definitely recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Great service

Great service, the team were amazing and really helped us out throughout the whole process, Especially Zach He went above and beyond.The quality of the product is truly brilliant. The house is a lot warmer and it looks great aswel. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

Good quality at a lower price!

Zach responded very quickly and helped us throughout the entire project. We replaced all our windows, as well as the external and patio doors. Very good team and a smooth experience from start to finish.
