Speaking to a human is great
Speaking to a human is great. But more often than not, the human tells you something s/he is reading from company policy and every nickel and dime that surfaces they try to pass on to the customer - even if the mistake was not on the part of the customer. Extra charges, lots of red tape, once my nanny is no longer with us, I will happily not use HWS ever again. I would recommend HWS to those who are ultra lazy or not numbers savvy who have cash to spare, which in this economy right now may not be anyone anymore...

Website is lacking (bad); consistently paying providers (good)
Website is lacking. We have been trying to get our password reset for a while. Relationship with 3rd-party provider is confusing.
On the other hand, caregivers have been paid consistently with no complaint so far (>1 year).
Here's hoping all the taxes have been handled properly.

Response to our questions usually take several days to get resolved. All these issues to name a few, and the service is a lot more expensive than our previous nanny tax service (PayYourNanny.com)

Marcela- Most clients choose our "Complete Payroll" service where taxes net pay due to your employee are drafted from your account each pay period. This smooths out the cost of your payroll and makes budgeting easier than owing a large tax bill at the end of each quarter. It also allows us to make the threshold tax payments required by some states.
We are one of the few in the industry who also offer an after-the-fact payroll tax service (we call it "Essential Payroll"), where you pay your employee directly, report the wages to us at the end of the quarter, and we then complete and file your taxes. This option might be better for your situation, so please call us to discuss.
Keep in mind that if you are using our service to pay your employee here on a G5-Visa, only the Complete Payroll service will meet the requirements put in place by the State department and your sponsor organization.
