Hommfer is a scam. All dressed up as being artisanal and “selected with care”, “attention to detail” whereas the products are sourced from China and arrive in shabby looking Chinese packaging without any instructions. Way overpriced for the service they are providing which is essentially a fancy shop window full of buzzwords when the products are shipped direct from a Chinese warehouse. Avoid.

The item I ordered was competitively priced, well made and arrived well packed and in quick time.

Beautiful glasses arrived safely. Great packaging! Great communication.

The item arrived with my friend as a gift and the wine glasses are beautiful and of excellent quality. Very happy.She loves them and sent me a photograph. The only down side was the length of time they took to arrive. But worth the wait.

I wish I had researched Hommfer properly before ordering.

I paid around £100 for a cutlery set. It took quite a while to arrive and the tracking showed it travelling internationally before reaching the UK. When it eventually arrived, it was in a completely plain, unbranded box.

The quality was extremely disappointing for the price. One of the small forks arrived with a visible dent, and after checking the complete set I discovered that two spoons were missing altogether. I also found the teaspoons unusually large compared with a normal teaspoon.

I contacted Hommfer immediately and provided photographs when requested. They acknowledged my concerns and the damaged fork, but instead of arranging a return and refund they offered to send replacement pieces.

Their response also revealed that their returns facility is in Asia, and they specifically referred to the “time and expense” involved in returning the set there.

I declined replacements and explained that, because my order arrived damaged and incomplete, I wanted to return the entire set for a full refund. I asked them to provide prepaid return arrangements.

Since asking for a full refund, they have stopped responding to me, despite multiple follow-up messages.

From the overseas shipping, plain packaging and Hommfer’s own confirmation that its returns facility is in Asia, this appears to me to be an overseas-sourced/dropshipping-style operation. I have also found very similar cutlery available through Asian wholesale marketplaces such as Alibaba/Made-in-China, although I cannot confirm the exact factory or supplier Hommfer uses. Given what I paid, I am extremely disappointed with the quality and apparent markup.

I have now contacted Halifax about disputing the transaction and I am reporting my experience to the UK International Consumer Centre (UKICC) and Citizens Advice Consumer Service/Trading Standards.

I’ve retained the photographs, packaging, tracking information and all of my correspondence.

My advice would be to research this company and its returns arrangements very carefully before ordering. My experience has been that communication was forthcoming when replacements were being offered, but once I insisted on returning the damaged and incomplete order for a refund, the responses stopped.

I will update this review if Hommfer responds and resolves the matter.

Lovely products and quality. I loved the way was kept informed from start to Finnish .
Would definitely order from here again got my eye on a few things.

Terrible service. Drop shipped from China, refusing to offer me a full refund as they don’t want to be out of pocket. Ordered some ‘great’ looking cutlery off their website and it was all cheap plastic and fake metal. Probably full of nasties in the coating too. Avoid this company as it’s a terrible service and very overpriced tat.

The product is fantastic. Thought it took a little while to arrive though.

Very poor customer service. When my parcel arrived the wine glasses inside were clearly broken and rattling about. I refused delivery so the parcel would be returned to Hommfer. They are adamant that as I cannot prove the parcel was damaged they will not refund me. They are refusing to contact their courier to find the proof at the point of delivery. I would never use them again.

I recently ordered a pair of crystal glasses when they arrived one was broken. I contacted them immediately , very promptly I
They actioned a replacement pair to be sent to me straight away , there was no delay hence I was very impressed with the outcome

Glasses are absolutely beautiful, really tall and elegant. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is delivery time; these took a fortnight to arrive, which isn’t a crisis, but could be improved on - a day later and I’d have missed the Birthday they were a gift for.

Excellent communication throughout the whole ordering process and lovely gold cutlery set as described.

Excellent…. The item itself is great and can’t wait to give as a gift.. (may have to get one myself). Communication from the company was plenty and great tracking info. If I did have to say one slight negative.. they use Evri as their courier. I really wish companies wouldn’t..

Great quality and really happy with the product, but the reviews about the shipping time are right. It takes a long time to arrive.
