I've only been using it for a week, but so far it is working pretty well. I don't love the VRBO integration. Rather than an API (like their Airbnb integration), you must log into both Hostex and VRBO on Chrome in separate tabs, then install a Hostex Chrome extension and activate it. Then moving forward you have to keep both tabs open and stay logged into both services in order to have them communicate. Clunky at best. So up to now, that is my biggest complaint. However the price is great, the value is excellent, and in general the service works well from what I have found.

Hostex is a great solution for short-term rental management. It saves me a lot of time and the interface is clean. I'm happy with the service and hope to see continuous updates and improvements. Recommended!

Good customer services - but better to have direct reply and comma-seperated price

Switching to Hostex has made managing my properties so much easier, especially since the calendar sync across Airbnb and Vrbo actually keeps up without double-booking scares. The automated guest messaging and cleaning schedules take care of all the repetitive daily chores for me. It’s easily the best tool I’ve used to keep everything running smoothly without losing my sanity!

Hostex has hands down been the best property management system I’ve used to run my short-term rental business. I’ve tested and looked into several other platforms, but Hostex has been the one that truly helps me manage everything in one place without making the process feel overly complicated.

I use Hostex to manage my reservations, guest communication, listings, calendars, pricing, and day-to-day operations across different booking platforms. It has made running my business much more organized and has saved me a lot of time. The platform is easy to understand, reliable, and packed with useful features without feeling bloated or difficult to navigate.

One of the biggest things I appreciate about Hostex is that the company continues to improve the platform and keep up with the latest technology. They are not stuck using outdated systems. They continue adding modern integrations, automation options, API capabilities, and newer technology such as MCP support. That is extremely important to me because automation and artificial intelligence are becoming a major part of how I operate and grow my business.

Hostex gives me the flexibility to connect my property management system with other tools and build automations around my reservations, guests, properties, and internal processes. Instead of having to completely change how I run my business, I can use Hostex as the central system and build everything else around it. That flexibility makes it much more than a basic calendar or channel manager.

Their customer support has also been helpful whenever I’ve had questions or needed assistance. It feels like the team actually listens to its users and understands what short-term rental operators need. They regularly release improvements, and it is clear that they are committed to making the platform better over time.

The main thing I’m still waiting for is a native iPad app. Since I manage so much of my business on my iPad, having a fully optimized iPad experience would make Hostex even better and more convenient to use on the go. I’m hopeful that this is something they add in the future.

Whether you manage one property or a growing portfolio, I highly recommend giving Hostex a try. It has become an essential part of my short-term rental business and helps me operate more efficiently, stay organized, and prepare for the future of automation and AI. Hostex is an excellent affordable tool! I manage one short-term rental that’s listed on multiple OTAs and it really helps simplify things. Love the integrations, Host GPT responses to respond to guest messages in a timely manner, automations, and the customer service is typically very responsive and helpful. Their AI responses for customer service are on point and when more assistance is needed, reps are helpful.

On or about 7/11/2026, I discovered that Hostex's "risk management" / security deposit feature did not function as represented. Specifically, Hostex marketed and represented that this feature would automatically recharge the account balance when the account dropped below $10, and I relied on that representation in structuring my damage protection policy. In fact, the auto-charge functionality did not operate as described: Instead of recharging the account when it dropped below $10, a reservation was not covered at all because the account did not already have adequate funds. There was no indication that the auto-recharge feature would not function under these circumstances, a fact stated by Hostex's support staff, and in their response to the BBB.

As a direct result of this misrepresentation, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau on or about 7/11/2026 and posted a truthful review of my experience on Trustpilot on or about 7/13/2026, describing Hostex's misrepresentation of the auto-charge functionality.

Prior to the suspension, I spent many hours on 7/13/2026 developing and implementing a workaround for the auto-charge failure described above, in a good-faith effort to continue using Hostex's services despite the defect. During this time, I contacted Hostex customer service, which repeatedly assured me that my account was not being terminated. Notwithstanding those repeated assurances, Hostex subsequently made the unilateral decision to escalate the matter and terminate my account, rendering the hours I had invested in the workaround worthless.

Shortly thereafter, on or about 7/14/2026, Hostex suspended my account. On information and belief, this suspension was retaliatory and was taken because I exercised my right to leave an honest review of my experience with Hostex's services and to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, not for any legitimate business or contractual reason. In Hostex's response, they state the the cancellation was not for these reasons, however the only further communication after I was told the account was not being cancelled and when it was ultimately suspended was the BBB complaint.

The best value option available! After a lengthy search for a new PMS we decided to go for Hostex due to both their value for money, and the features we needed to manage our 20+ listing business.

So far they've been great! Support has been very quick and very helpful which is massive!

It's obviously not as feature-rich as some of it's more expensive competitors, and a few things seem to be missing, but they have already implemented one suggestion, and I've been told they're currently working on another. Hopefully they'll be able to implement it soon as I'm sure a lot of hosts would benefit from it.

Hostex has made my hosting experience A LOT more optimized. With their channel managers, it helped me save time from going to one platform to another. So far, my experience has been positive although there are still a few things for improvement like the message syncing with the platforms. But overall, I would highly recommend!
