Housing Hand made the guarantor process incredibly smooth and stress-free for me. From start to finish, their team was responsive, professional, and clear in their communication. As an international student, I was initially anxious about meeting guarantor requirements, but Housing Hand handled everything efficiently and with great care.

A special thanks to Temitope, who went above and beyond by expediting my application on short notice. His prompt support ensured I could meet my accommodation deadlines without delay. I’m genuinely grateful for the excellent service and would highly recommend Housing Hand.

My experience with Housing Hand had been great. Their team have been very helpful and provided support and comfort throught. Housing Hand is quick with responding to any concerns and enquiries which is very helpful for any application process.

Speedy customer service on the phone. You can skip the A.I bot and simply say “i want to speak to someone”, that will fast track the experience for you. I was lucky enough to be connected with Chim Wuche who:

1) Was VERY clear and concise about the solution to my problem, broke everything down for me in the simplest terms and walked me through the entire process
2) Was very patient as i had a lot of questions and concerns
3) Was overall kind and understanding towards me and my stress levels towards the situation, really helped to mediate the entire situation

Hopefully this is a universal experience throughout their entire customer service, but very lucky i had the experience i had 🙏

Absolute scam of a company who has held my refund for early tenancy termination for over 2 months without any update. I am told to email their refunds team but have not gotten any response back and am told there is no timeline for when to expect a refund.

You were of absolutely no help. If you want to charge for a service as a guarantor, but require a co-signor who is not a student, is employed, and not a tenant, then the co-signer can just as well be a gaurantor. Such a stupid service offering and even more stupid rule. Absolutely zero solution offered.

She was helpful, helped me get a solution on my issue quickly.

I’m a UK home student who used Housing Hand’s guarantor service in 2024. My experience has been extremely disappointing and unnecessarily stressful.

Before choosing their service, I clearly explained to their account manager over the phone that I planned to pay all my rent before October. She assured me that if I did so, I would not have to continue paying monthly subscription fees. To avoid any misunderstanding, I repeated this agreement in an email before making the payment. The account manager did not correct me, instead, they proceeded with setting up the service.

I paid my rent in full before October, exactly as planned. Despite this, Housing Hand continued to charge and demand fees. I disputed one of these charges through my bank, and the bank ruled in my favour, clearly recognising that my claim was valid.

The situation caused me significant mental stress, especially when they escalated the matter to a law firm (The Associate Law Firm), who began sending legal threats. What’s worse is that the fees they demanded changed over time. Initially, they claimed I owed £136 in subscription fees (£68 + £68). After I challenged this, they rebranded it as a “cancellation fee” or “admin fee” which is not even mentioned in the terms and conditions I agreed to.

I have kept detailed records of all calls, emails, and the bank’s dispute outcome. Based on this experience and after reading many similar reviews, I believe Housing Hand’s practices can be misleading and unfair, especially towards students.

I am now considering legal action for the distress and harm this has caused.

To fellow students: keep records of every communication if you deal with Housing Hand. Read the fine print carefully or better yet, look for more transparent and student-friendly alternatives.

I genuinely think this is a scam. Paying £68 for them is a ridiculous amount to get the bare minimum in communication, and for it to be confusing at least.
A lot of the time, they'll consistently email for payments, but it would've already been done, which makes no sense if it is as automated as they say it is. They explain things in so many different directions that you just say yes to get it over and done with.
When I first signed up, they would always call me, and when I called back eventually, they claimed they never called.
I just can't believe I'm already paying £68 a month, and even if I do use their services, I have to pay that back.

Remi was extremely helpful and polite during my first call with her. I was unaware of the process and had some questions, which she happened to explain very well, which put me at ease. I happened to call another time, and Remi answered the phone using my name, which I find very personable. I also think it is worth mentioning, that I had spoken to Yusef previously too, who was also friendly and helpful. Due to previous bad reviews I was uncertain if to use housinghand, however, I am aware many people are quick to complain, and less people go out of their way to give positive feedback. So far my dealings have been pleasant. Hopefully that continues :)

So far great experience. They considered my urgent request. Their Helpline team is really helpful. Specially thanks to Remi paul. All I needed to do was to fill out the application and make the payment. Afterwards just couple of calls then HousingHand handled the guarantor part with my agency.
