ICanStudy... I could go on and on about this course. Not only does it create an unparalleled ability to retain and understand any subject and good studying habits it also builds your own personal growth. You could use the information in this course to manage your life or even improve your tennis game!

It has been a missing piece of the study puzzle for me. I remember struggling in high school, and early university. Then I discovered flashcard programs and remember not sleeping the night I found out about memory palaces and thinking the stuff was the equivalent of a Hydrogen Bomb.

And I had some level of success. Pretty much over night, I went from struggling to being able to manage comfortably. But no matter how many flashcards and mock exams I did, I felt there was a barrier I just couldn't cross.

Icanstudy reveals the gaps I was looking for. I was initially incredibly skeptical when he said flash cards and old exams were overrated.

Two later, in the middle of an accelerated law program(3 years in 9 months), I'm learning more at a faster rate than I ever have. Minimal flash cards.

Note that the effects are not as immeidate as the effectiveness as memory palace or other such tricks, (he also teaches those as well), but some of the principles he teaches on how to develope higher level ordring are much more powerful.

I will try to write this review with people who are skeptical about this course and unsure whether it's right for them in mind. I read through other people's comments beforehand to try to avoid repeating much of what has already been said.

I'm someone who has completed the course and found it so helpful that I also felt compelled to remain on the Discord to give others support/feedback and pay it forward. It took me about a year with my job and school to complete the course. I started the ICS course my senior year in college and finished after graduation while working my job.

The course is neither easy, nor spoon-fed to you but it is all very learnable if you try to actively apply and experiment around with the techniques. As a bit of a perfectionist, this was difficult for me as the course taught me to be clear about where my processes/habits were imperfect and try to create my own experiments for self-improvement. Noted, that I initially found some frustration having to give myself feedback and send it in, and could have blamed the course or the coaches for not being helpful enough, but really it was my own insecurities getting in the way. For those perfectionists out there like me who get hopelessly stuck looking at imperfect work, I do believe there are enough feedback mechanisms built into their course to get keep you on the path moving forward and the coaches and community are good at building you others up (feedback mechanisms at the bottom of all this)

Additionally, something I find neat is that the course also has some lessons on how to manage your emotions (for example, testing anxiety) and bad habits. Hearing some of the research from Dr. Sung and experimenting with it on my own, I've found myself having a meditation practice is quite helpful for both my mental health and ability to focus while learning. So the course material can certainly have impacts outside of just your ability to learn better.

Other comments:
At the moment, I would agree with some of the other reviews that the bandwidth and accessibility of the coaches are lower than they should be right now because of the sheer number of people in the course as ICS continues to grow. From a message the ICS coaches put out on Discord, they recognized this as a serious issue and described a few different ways they are looking to address it. I appreciate their open admission of identified shortcomings and that they also shared what they will try experimenting with to fix it.

If my memory serves me well, all of the lesson videos are under 20 minutes which is why I believe it's advertised that you only need 20 minutes a day to "learn" with this course. You then have to apply what you learn which takes significantly longer to practice and perfect the techniques but there's plenty of opportunity for that with schoolwork--which has to be done no matter what, so two birds with one stone, right?

Feedback opportunities include: "Office Hours" where a coach calls people up to have their work reviewed and talked about, expert feedback submission where you get an in-depth analysis of your work and advice on the best steps forward, feedback from the coaches or other members on the Discord pages, or "Live Clinics" where Dr. Sung either reviews a students work or goes in-depth on a common issue/problem/inquiry that members vote for on the Discord.

This course is one of the best investments that I have made for myself so far! From the start of the course to the present, I have been amazed by the amount of effort that was put into designing this course. I love how the iCS team is trying to develop self-regulated learners who apply higher order practices. This course not only teaches learning skills, but also time management skills, prioritization, mindset changes, etc.

Unless I already had experience with most of the techniques and the type of thinking that this course teaches before starting, this course is definitely not easy. It is quite different from most online courses that I have taken. iCS strongly focuses on getting their students to develop practical skills, which is the main part that I love about the course. If you want to improve, you WILL spend many hours (in my current case, hundreds of hours) practicing the skills that the course teaches, and will encounter several obstacles. I have taken more time than the timeline that they displayed on their website.

Another good part about this course is the amount of online help that students could get. There is a big online Discord community where students can get feedback on their work and ask questions from coaches (ie. through office hour calls) and more experienced students. There are online articles, demonstration videos, videos on common student issues for the course, and live virtual sessions that are recorded, to guide students through their learning journeys. Students can also submit their work to have a coach give expert feedback. Getting feedback is important to ensure that students are on the right track, and I am glad that I submitted my work. The coach gave me wonderful detailed feedback, such as on what I have been doing well on and what I need to improve/fix before moving on with the course.

One improvement that would be helpful for the course is to have more demonstration videos of the skills that were taught. Although I could gain some insights from the common issues videos and live clinics, I feel like it would have been more easier seeing a longer process of how someone uses the iCS skills.

Overall, I have learned that learning is a very complex process, and I am so excited to continue on with developing my skills in this course as they will help me in various aspects of my life!

This has been by far the most valuable course I have taken In my life, the methods taught in this course are out of this world efficient, currently in Ascent I. I would easily pay several multiples of what the course costs to get this kind of information and feedback (The price to value discrepancy is insane). It's not an easy course, but the community and structure of the program provide the feedback you need to get. ahead. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn not just a bit faster but orders of magnitude faster.

It was informative and stayed on topic with very minor detraction from the main point. I also enjoyed the Q&A interaction at the end of class.

The system that is taught by iCanStudy is really geared towards students that are either in high school or university. The system is not about study tips and tricks that would fit into a short video, but a comprehensive system where the student develops the skills to study effectively and efficiently. I wish that I had such a system as a undergraduate. These skills are ones that will serve any knowledge worker well throughout their career. The level of personalized coaching is amazing. I am still taking the course and would recommend it to anyone who is serious about learning.

I would pay 10x more for this course if I was required to - the value that you get for this course is absolutely unparalleled.

This is the most comprehensive course for how to become a more efficient learner available. I thought the tips and tricks were the most important part of studying, but a key pillar that I have learned that I neglect is mindset. Whatever goal you have that requires learning - this course if for you.

I liked that there was a Q&A for everyone to ask questions.

Only joined for less than a week and I am already seeing some progress, feel more motivated to study and test out learning techniques. Talks about the theory and reasoning how these techniques work were captivating. I strongly believe anyone who is willing to learn more effectively will greatly benefit from this course, with the resources and support coming both the coaches and community, feels more comfortable making mistakes. In school, my teachers recommended me to just memorise as much details as I can as a study method. I felt uncomfortable as I've always tried to find connections between informations. ICanStudy changed my perspective on learning and helped me learn how to prioritize the links and connections i make between information making it more meaningful. Do not feel discourage if you do not see results early on. Theres only so much the course can do for you, take charge of your own learning and make the conscious decision to practise the technique. Lastly, follow the guidelines. 10/10

Learning how to learn effectively is something that we should have been taught to do during school. This course by Dr Justin Sung delves deep into the nitty gritty of why you can remember some things with ease and some go in one ear and out the other whilst teaching you techniques to ensure you can cover all bases of learning that cover all different types of knowledge. There is a fantastic active community who help each other along the journey providing counsel. I've returned to uni after over a decade and am able to perform better than ever whilst still being early in the course.

I've been learning anatomy and by using mindmaps, teaching simple relational and the traffic light system, I'm able to recall a considerably large portion of the body systems without an extensive amount of study time

The course is structured in a way that helps improve deep processing skills, a key contributor to student success in today's competitive academic environment. The Head of Learning, Dr. Justin Sung clearly explains and portrays the ways in which learning should be carried out in order to ensure maximum efficiency. The system is logical and with work, you can improve you learning skills. The lessons provide great tips and lots of support online. We'll worth the time and money.

Hi, I'll do my best to write a review to help anyone who is on the fence about joining the course.

Initially I was worried that there wouldn't be enough support. But after asking around it became apparent that there are multiple ways to get support, these include;

- Office hours, I aim to attend these at least once a week when possible
Here a coach will review work which is always relevant to you, regardless of which stage you are at. They also review your work and give you feedback + support on how you can take actionable steps to improve your learning.

- Discord threads
The community can reply to feedback here, it's a good place to get quick replies. Engaging in the community is a great way to stay motivated as well, whilst picking up useful tips since you can learn directly from other peoples experiences.

Furthermore, if your post has not been checked or you still need help you can ping coaches after 3 days, however sometimes they may reply randomly to posts without needing to be pinged.

- Expert feedback
These require a payment, however if you use "XP" points you will only be required to pay approximately £2 GBP. I've yet to submit anything for expert feedback since I'm saving my packages for when I run into an issue I can't solve, but these are comprehensive and very detailed guides which dissect your work and give you useful pointers. Oftentimes these are followed up by an office hours where you get to speak to the coaches as well.

- ICS website
There is a bot, a bear or something (Bernard I believe is his name) which lets you get in touch with the ICS team if you have any issues. Furthermore under each video there is a comments section where you can post questions, Ashton is always reading through and answering any questions so this is a good place to get any questions answered!

- Live clinics
Held once a month, Dr Justin himself teaches a topic voted by the community. Very detailed and amazing places to learn more about a technique you're stuck on.

Lastly (unless I've forgotten something), there is also the option to email the team, hope this has helped.

It's been just under 2 months since I've enrolled, currently at technique training which I'm really enjoying. I've developed systems which have greatly improved my consistency and management, the variant of Kolbs reflective cycle taught by ICS is also amazing and has given me a lot of control over my learning as a result, highly recommend ICS not just for the study skills but also the management and reflective skills.

I have been using iCanStudy for around 4 months, initially joining on January 31st, 2023. I am at Ascent I currently.

After first hearing about the course, I was a bit skeptical as I simply did not believe that improving my study skills was realistic or even possible. However, I eventually decided to buy the course to see what it was like. I first purchased the one-month option, and I was quite satisified so I decided to purchase one year. The course is amazing because of the constant feedback you can get from it. There are many forms of feedback such as Office Hours, Discord threads as well as the extremely helpful Discord community. No matter how new you may be to the course, there will always be someone to help you out. I also think that the way that the course is delivered presents studying in a new light, as Justin teaches a study system rather than a bunch of isolated techniques. I have never thought about studying in this way, and it has helped me to shift my mindset.

Let's talk about how the course has benefited me. When I first started the course, I was already a high-achieving student but I had to put countless hours into my studies to get relatively inconsistent results. My main approach would be to do endless practice question and pretty much try to brute force knowledge into my brain. After spending around 50 hours a week studying (at the high school level), I knew it was time for a paradigm shift. I literally studied at every waking hour, going home right away to study and then eating dinner, studying some more and then falling asleep at 11 or 12 PM. This was not healthy in any way or form, as I sacrificed my social life, hobbies and overall health for getting good grades.

After buying the course and applying the techniques and system that I implemented, I find that I am not studying a lot but still achieving great results. I also have a new way to think about studying and really focusing on the encoding process rather than mindlessly doing endless practice questions. The knowledge that I have learned tends to stick for a lot longer and I do not find myself forgetting a lot of information compared to prevoiusly. As of now, practice questions are only part of my system and I use the sparsely yet achieve the same or better results. Honestly, iCanStudy is not just a studying course but rather a course that improves all aspects of your life. Through their self-reflection techniques provided, I have seen my overall life improve drastically which was quite unexpected. The course focuses more on a holistic approach to learning rather than a few "tips and tricks" or "study hacks" which is why it is so effective.

It's important to note that this course is not easy by any means. It takes a vast amount of effort and dedication to really see results, but do not be discouraged. The members in the course are extremely friendly and well help you along your journey to success. Although it may be difficult at first, it eventually gets gradually easier once the system becomes habitual and everything is second nature.

If you are considering buying the course, I would do it! There is nothing to lose and this course has been immensely helpful and honestly life-changing.

Been on the course for the last few months and it has resulted in me improving a lot from last year, from barely passing in my quizzes to now 80% to 95% and sometimes full marks, also using BEDS-M have been useful to severely reducing my procrastination and making studying a habit, definitely a highly recommended course! Excited to see how much more I can progress with the course

I was skeptical at first regarding the ICS course but now I'm not. I have been in the course for a few months and I've seen improvements in my learning. I now retain information better and study less. Additionally, I have become more reflective and observational which helps me to identify any problems with my learning system or techniques. Dr. Sung and his team have done an OUTSTANDING job with the course. There are weekly meetings where students can go over their learning with coaches and monthly sessions with Dr. Sung. The amount of dedication from the ICS team is absolutely baffling as I don't even think ANYONE gets close to the amount of work they put in. I HIGHLY recommend ICS to anyone.

Didn't know I had this much problem. It's really great to have advice from an expert, if just to know if you're headed in the right direction. I'll be doing another in the forseeable future for sure.
