Despite the uk domain name, the company is based in Germany. If I had known I wouldn’t have ordered from them. The light I received had clearly already been returned by another customer - there was a ripped open invoice pocket in the side, the box was poorly taped up, hanging open, and there was supposed to be an eu adapter, but this was missing. I didn’t want a light that needed an adapter to use. The light was wobbly with very thin flimsy metal supports. One leg also had minor damage. It had taken an hour to unpack and assemble, and then another hour to repack. The return instructions gave no way to arrange a collection, and it took two hours and three post offices before anyone would take it, by which time I was in tears. I am now waiting anxiously to see whether I will actually receive my refund. A very stressful experience I have no wish to ever repeat.

I agree with some of the reviews regarding the company being German and having a .co.uk site which is misleading.i also had to pay a customs charge up front for which they apologised.i even had one light bulb missing.having said all that the communication with them was clear and a quick response. I immediately received the customs money back into my account. They also asked me to purchase all 6 new bulbs from a local supplier and promptly put the payment back into my account. I am very happy with the way that they corrected the problems and for this reason I would recommend this company.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. BE EXPECTED TO PAY UPFRONT CUSTOMS CHARGES PRIOR TO DELIVERY. Ordered 2 light fittings and a floor lamp. The floor lamp arrived minus the glass shades and the others were held by Parcel Force awaiting payment of customs charges totalling £57.15 which i am expected to pay upfront. This information was not given to me upon placing the order. The website states illumination.co.uk but the company is in Germany and this is not at all clear until you have ordered and paid.

Ordered table lamp and bulbs on 21 October with a projected delivery date of 2 December (clearly stated). Order arrived yesterday (4 November) without any need to contact. Lamp and bulbs exactly as illustrated and excellent product. Very surprised at negative reviews -:easily 5 stars.

Absolute heap of shite. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. I don't think I can post photos here but trust my word. Never seen a product like that.

Despite the .co.uk web domain Illumination are based in Germany. This is not made clear until after checkout when purchasing online - Hofstein GMBH. They send the usual confirmatory emails. Then nothing. When pressed on where the goods are - you get a stock response - delays with supplier..... So after one month I did a credit card charge back as they had not despatched the goods paid for.

This company beggars belief. So I contacted them to arrange for delivery of my 2 missing lights as per my previous review where they tried to defraud me.

They acknowledged their mistake and I have just received the package with the 2 missing lights. Surprise surprise when I opened the box there was only 1 light in there. The weight again correlates to 2 lights being the package, but it is impossible to fit in 2 lights in the size of the outer packaging box.

I got multiple reassurances that 2 lights would be despatched but it seems the company will try to reflect inaccurate weights and defraud you where possible.

Back to trying to get my missing light sorted now. Surely an empty box won't turn up next time.

First they take your money which they are by far the most over priced in all off Florida . When all there lights break they give you 3 different reasons on why you are not covered under warranty . Whatever you do DONT USE ILLUMINATION RUN THEY ARE AN AWFUL COMPANY . After spending thousands of dollars with them over the a few year time period they wiggle out of your warranty . Rest assured BBB AND ATTORNEY GENERAL will be contacted and cases filed . Save your money go somewhere else

On my second delivery of a really nice floor lamp the problem is it’s not packed correctly they both had tape round the bottom and the lamps were dented and broken. I’m not risking having another as they don’t collect them so you have to dispose of them yourself. Shame I really liked it. Just hope my refund doesn’t take long.

Like other people say, poor (non-existent) communication. It seems that if they have something in stock, it's fine, but if not, then it's a case of waiting (and waiting and waiting). If I had known this at the time of ordering, I would have looked elsewhere.

Trying to get information from them about a ceiling light and they just do not respond. Very poor, reading the reviews not sure it is wise ordering from them anyway. Have tried several times.

I bought the bathroom light in February 2023. It now doesn't light! A lighting element should last for several thousand hours. I will now have to buy a new bathroom light. I have submitted 2 forms online to the company, they do not respond. There is no phone number.

Very poor customer service l, they take payment and then you hear nothing from them again.. a complete scam.. bunch of thieving fraudulent people. Avoid this company!

I purchased 2 sets of ceiling lights and knew they were based in Germany, so didn't expect them to arrive quickly, however, from date of ordering to delivery, it took 6 days which l was stunned but very pleased with. I received emails when the lights were dispatched, when they were going through customs and when they were being delivered. The lights are up and work perfectly. Would highly recommend and would happily order again.

Have ordered 4 lights from illumination and would buy from them again company is based in Germany so took 2 weeks to come and arrived without a hitch and was worth the wait lights look fantastic up and easy to install. I did email them due to negative feedback and they messaged back the next day. Very happy customer

Scam. The website was clear it shipped in 6-10 working days but when I asked where my stuff was they said they were clear it was weeks. I have a screen shot. Do not use it’s a total scam. Really hacked off .

Waited approx 2/3 weeks for lights which is what was indicated at time of ordering. Lights arrived on time and they are fabulous I couldn’t be more delighted. Would use this company again.

Was sceptical about ordering after reading reviews, but contacted company in advance- received prompt, professional communication so went ahead. Company clearly states its based in Germany, so don’t expect next day delivery. Lights arrived within 2 weeks, held in customs for a few days according to delivery tracker (thank you google translate), turned up no problem at all, no additional fees. Really pleased with product. So glad I took the chance.

Ordered a ceiling fan, when got a despatch notification it was from DHL in Germany. Customs was a slight delay. Apart from that a quality item, no customs charges presumably because I'd paid VAT
