Stiven and Boris did a great job

Stiven and Boris did a great job. They didn’t stop once and made sure all of my items were well wrapped and secured. Particular detail was paid to fragile items. Nothing was damaged and they were very professional and just good blokes too. Highly recommend.

It was quite easy and worked well

We received a call on the friday to say that the cost had increased because our furniture looked bigger than expected. This was a bit of a red flag but after some discussion the original quote was honered.
Isaac and Eduard were absolutely awesome, they arrived on time, were very polite and helpful.
They even played music, it set the vibe. They worked hard and actually finished up earlier than expected.
I would ask for them if using instamove.

I have moved many times and can say…

I have moved many times and can say that Jorge and Sergio were the best movers we have ever had! It was a full service, they dismatled the beds and office desk and reassembled perfectly at the other side. They listened so well and ensured everything was placed exactly where we wanted it. I was honestly so stressed about the move today, but I had nothing to worry about, they really made the whole day so easy! I cannot thank Jorge and Sergio enough! To top it all off, the price was also so reasonable and less than we were expecting! Recommend them 5 stars!!

Over charged damaged belongings making a profit more important

Over charged, damaged belongings and while they corrected the over charged they refuse to provide a solution for the damages due to "not making a profit" off our move.
Do not recommend the company for interstate or for moving items into storage. The damage could have been avoided if they just took the time and care in the process.

As they clearly mentioned the claim was made 2months after the move....hard to assess damage when furniture is mishandled and shoved in a storage unit, until you unpack the storage unit. A key point the company seems to skirt over. As I said would not recommend if you can not assess the damage from the day!

Thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed review. Given the depth of your comments, we feel it’s important to address the facts clearly and fairly.

First and foremost, we issued a $1,716 refund out of our own pocket as a gesture of goodwill. This was despite having already paid the removalist for the full 40m³ of truck space your items occupied. While your storage unit had unusually high vertical clearance that allowed for more upright stacking, the truck did not offer the same height, meaning items had to be packed differently and took up more volume.
Even so, we chose to refund the difference entirely at our own cost, well beyond what most companies would consider reasonable.

It’s also worth noting that your damage claim was submitted months after the move had taken place, well outside the timeframe outlined by our insurer. As such, the matter was not eligible for coverage under our insurance policy, and any compensation provided was made entirely at our own expense.

We take pride in resolving issues fairly. In this case, we felt the matter had been resolved with a significant refund and a lengthy back-and-forth to reach common ground. While we respect every customer's right to share their experience, we won’t allow threats of a bad review to override what’s reasonable or fair.

We sincerely wish you the best in future moves and hope you find a provider better suited to your expectations.

Cesar and Christian were on time

Cesar and Christian were on time, efficient, and took great care with all of my furniture, wrapping everything up before it got loaded on the truck, and were very careful at my new home when unpacking. Price that I ended up paying was in line with the 'moderate' quote that they gave me, but absolutely no huge surprise there given the amount of things they had to pack and unpack for me. Thought Instamove were very reasonably priced in comparison to a lot of the other quotes I got prior to moving. Highly recommend them!

Great experience

Was moved by Julian and Martin yesterday (17/05/2025) and the move went perfectly. Both were very friendly and moved me as quick as they could. Nothing was broken or missing in any way. I was nervous as this was my first time hiring movers and am from overseas but the team was brilliant. The quote was accurate and there was no hidden cost unlike a lot of the other places i contacted.

Ripped-off & Paid excessively for a short move.

I had a house move booked for the 14/3/2025 and it really went poorly. The initial estimation service really failed, I noted that I had some larger items with the consultant (a few Arcade machines) and later before the move I sent photos. I was advise I needed a bigger truck only after I uploaded the photos of my stuff to their website, quote went up.

Then on the day, the removalist were very cautious about moving the arcade machines and didn't seem to want too, this took half an hour to work out, nothing loaded at this point. Decision was made to do two loads, arcade machines and bulky furniture first, as the new house was only 2-3 streets away, 5 minutes walking distance.
Second load took ages, and I had to authorize a quote variation for two moves. They took along time to load the truck on the second move, saying this is 'the real move now', I had pre-box as much as possible and my 30 square home somehow was re-assessed at 60+ squares. The last few hours they were really slow, I had some minor breakages (Broken bookshelf, feet ripped out of my wooden office desk) and scratched items.
At the end of the day hey were just shuffling boxes around inside the truck until I said to just unload them into the garage and finish up. 9.5 hours to move a couple of streets, and I had no choice but to accept and pay as they told me they will round-up to the next half hour for charging (~$100 plus GST).

When leaving the nearly ripped the bumper off my car not paying enough attention to what they were doing, if I didn't yell stop, it would've been a insurance job. I had to do another 5-6 loads in my ute the next day to finish the move.

So now with all this, my $850 - $1200 quote turned out ~$2100. At no point did they say that GST wasn't included in their hourly rate, I was shock how much it costed but had no option but to just pay.

The worst bit of all is THEY STOLE FROM ME. I had $600 in cash in my bedside draw (Stupid I know, but you are moving and make mistakes, you expect the people providing the service to have integrity) and it was gone after the move, I'm pretty sure I walked in on the guy when he took it too (as he had the draw open and jumped when I walked into the room), I just didn't realize until later on.

I called the company the following Monday and they said they would do an investigation and come back in 7 days. I haven't heard a thing and I've been really ripped off.

I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT MOVE WITH THESE PEOPLE.

Your initial enquiry was based on 3-bedroom contents, which translated to roughly 32m³. We allocated a "Large" 39m³ truck at an hourly rate and provided an estimated range based on that. After receiving your photos a few days prior, it was clear there were significantly more items than expected, so we upgraded you at no extra charge to an "XL" 48m³ truck (largest you can send in residential area) to ensure the move could be completed properly. The hourly rate remained the same but informed you that it would take longer due to the increased volume of items.

On the day, the team ended up doing two loads, meaning your total volume was closer to 60m³. This was the main reason the move took longer than initially estimated as you simply had a lot more to move.

The team, led by an experienced operator Rafael who has over 5 industry experience, arrived on time and worked throughout the day to complete the job. We understand moving can be stressful, but they acted professionally and followed all procedures.

Regarding the allegation of theft, we take this extremely seriously and fully refute it. These are long-term, trusted staff, and we’ve encouraged you to report it to the police if you believe something was taken. It’s important that serious claims are handled through the proper channels.

We aim to respond to all complaints within 7 business days. At the time of your review, our investigation was still underway to ensure all details were properly reviewed.

Many thanks to Carlos and David. We moved into to a 3 stories house with narrow stairs but they did an amazing job without doing any harm to our furniture and electronics. Highly recommended their service. Great attitude through out the job.

Extremely slow and bad service, nasty, desperate and cheap removalists, paid triple the price

Extremely slow and bad service, slack, slow and on the phone a lot, when I hurry them up, they slow down even more, end up paying triple the price , they laugh loudly when I had to pay, because if I don't pay they refuse to unload the furniture from the truck, just because I mentioned that they were a bit slow and they were not happy , and have revenge immediately, so do not criticize anyone from this company, and do not use their service, you will end up paying way more, I have never seem such nasty, desperate, lazy, cheap people in my life. Very bad luck indeed

A dishonest, gaslighting nightmare

We booked Instamove for our Melbourne-to-Adelaide move after a lot of research. They weren’t the cheapest, but the manager sounded reassuring, promising a stress-free move.

We had 35m³ of household items to be picked up from an apartment and storage, plus several motorbikes. Instamove gave us two fixed-price options: one with and one without the bikes. We chose to include the bikes. Before paying the deposit, we were reassured that the final charge would be based on the actual volume moved, and there would be no hidden fees or surprises.

A messy pick-up ...

First red flag: none of our furniture or appliances were wrapped, even though protective wrapping was included in the quote. Then, while the move continued at the storage, we got a call from an assistant demanding full payment upfront, despite their website clearly stating it’s due on delivery.

Next, she claimed the trucks they sent were too small and requested that we pay extra for a bigger truck. (But wasn’t this a fixed-price job?) We weren’t able to have a constructive conversation with her, and couldn’t contact the manager directly, since Instamove only has a central phone number and email. So we requested a call-back. (No call came till the next day.)

When it came to loading the motorbikes, the truck was unsuitable, and the movers were out of their depth. Watching them struggle to load the first bike was terrifying. Eventually they gave up. (We were lucky to be able to leave the bikes behind safely.)

A few things that didn’t fit into the 39m³ truck used for the household items were loaded onto the small truck sent for the bikes. The large truck had some dead space, but we were charged extra for the additional volume – which was no more than 1m³.

The next day, in a heated conversation, a representative threatened that they’d cancel the job and return our stuff to our vacated apartment. Then the manager called and reassured us that our household items would be moved safely. He also offered to move the bikes for an increased fee. We chose to hire another mover instead, who did a stellar job at the same price Instamove first quoted.

Storage fees & scare tactics ...

After finding a home in Adelaide and trying to organise delivery, Instamove requested that we pay the storage fees. We had 4 weeks of storage included in the quote, and we owed them 6 weeks. Imagine our surprise when they hit us with an invoice for 20 weeks’ fees – two storage units and 10 weeks for each.

When we questioned this, the staff got aggressive. They suddenly claimed we had more stuff than we paid for, and we had already received a huge discount. When we tried to explain that we had paid all fees in full and that the bikes were not moved by Instamove, they threatened to withhold all our belongings.
Consumer Affairs suggested we might be dealing with unlawful misrepresentation. We told Instamove we were seeking advice, and after a demeaning email from a staff member, we finally received a call from the manager agreeing to amend the invoice.

Delivery – more hurdles ...

Many of our boxes arrived soaking wet, and some furniture was badly damaged. The truck also damaged the driveway as the driver didn’t follow our instructions for where to park.

When we reported the damage, Instamove refused compensation. Their excuses:
1. They “received no mention of damages prior to the team’s departure”. (We reported everything to the movers.)
2. We were not eligible since “the job was not paid in full”. (We paid in full for all services delivered.)
3. They “absorbed a substantial financial loss”. (This is due to their mismanagement, and has nothing to do with their responsibility for the damage.)

When we sent a detailed rebuttal, they just ghosted us.

In short, Instamove operates with dodgy quotes, unprofessional staff, and zero accountability. Their quotes are live documents that they change after signing. They contradict themselves, gaslight you, ignore complaints, and if they don’t want to deal with you, they stop responding.

If I receive a response to this review filled with lies, I won’t be surprised.

Avoid them at all costs.

We’d like to clarify a few details regarding your booking. Your move was originally quoted for 35m³, and any additional space required was optional. We provided flexibility, allowing you to make the best decision for your needs, including choosing another provider for your motorbikes.

To support your transition, we also offered complimentary storage. When your redelivery date was extended, we provided a cost-price option for the additional period, but we completely understand that this wasn’t the right fit for you at the time. Regarding the truck size, inner-city access constraints meant a larger vehicle wasn’t possible, so our team worked within these limitations to complete the move.

Additionally, your move ended up being significantly larger than initially estimated, requiring more resources, time, and storage. We did incur a substantial financial loss by completing your move at below-cost pricing—not due to mismanagement, but because the actual scope of work was underestimated on your end. In an effort to turn a difficult situation into a manageable one, we proceeded with the job at a heavily reduced rate. Even with this adjustment, we recognize that you were still not satisfied.

Had you gone with any other interstate provider, you likely would have been charged nearly double, as pricing in this industry is based on volume—the more you move, the higher the cost. We understand your dissatisfaction and did our best to mitigate the situation, but we respect your perspective and wish you all the best moving forward.

Cannot rate this company low enough

If I used the words I really wanted to describe this sham of a company, I'd be banned from the internet.
Their whole business is based on false claims. They have no physical address, no fleet of trucks, and use subcontract moving crews.

They failed to meet their obligations under the terms of the agreement we accepted and paid for, then attempted to blame us for their own incompetence.

"No hidden charges" except that on the day of the move they told us they had underquoted and we had to pay more.

They couldn't complete the job on the day because they had sent an undersized truck, then attempted to extort more money from us to complete the rest of the move, which we engaged a professional mover to do later.

When they sent the invoice for the quoted storage fees, it was double the quoted amount. We disputed the fees and they attempted to blackmail us by threatening to hold our furniture until we paid up.

Insurance included up to $5000? Another lie. Our furniture was damaged & they came up with all kinds of fake excuses as to why they didn't have to pay up, even though the damage was pointed out to their driver, who failed to report it the their office, so they used this as one of their excuses to deny our claim.

They also claim they give a "happiness guarantee" but when we attempted to make valid complaints we were screamed at, abused and threatened on more than one occasion.

I fully expect they'll deny all of this, or make some lame comments about it being our fault because they're so unprofessional that they can't accept responsibility for their screw-ups, but we have evidence, in writing.

An ACCC complaint is pending.

Instamove disgraceful

Instamove disgracefulA quote for a one bedroom apartment was $560. The two guys were so slow it took them 4 hours than I was waiting at drop off location for over an hour when they had left before me than o was charged $1300 and they wanted the payment straight away. Do not use this company double the amount and time of what they tell you it will be. I’m a single woman I feel like iv been taken advantages of. Oh and iv had to do 3 car trips back because they couldn’t fit anything else in there truck apparently and there was plenty of room when o checked when they got to drop off address.

These guys moved me on the weekend and they were fantastic!! They were on time, polite, experienced, efficient and had a really good attitude all day - even when we were all exhausted!! Highly recommend!!
