Ordered a pair of shorts from Isto.pt, expecting delivery within the advertised 3-7 business days. It actually took over 25 working days to arrive, more than three times what's promised on their site.

What made it worse was the total silence. No delay notification, no proactive update, nothing. I had to reach out multiple times myself just to get a status. For a company promising fast shipping, that lack of communication was disappointing.

When the shorts finally arrived, they ran much shorter than expected compared to the product photos and description, so I'm now returning them. Combined with the shipping experience, it's hard to recommend ordering here unless you're prepared for long wait times and need to chase updates yourself.

Nach Zahlung und Bestellbestätigung keine Info bekommen, keine Versandbestätigung und auch keine Antwort auf mehrfache Nachfrage beim Kundenservice. Habe dann via Paypal die Zahlung zurückgefordert. Sehr schlechter Kundenservice, zur Qualität der Produkte kann ich nichts sagen, da ich das bestellte Shirt ja nicht erhalten habe.

Waiting since 10 days to receive my return label. Hope the store is not in financial trouble and I will get my money back (once I receive my return label). Tried 2 different return services, they emailed me. Both didn't work and no answer via email even after many days and emails. Make sure you don't have to return something.

Hands down the worst online clothing purchase experience I’ve ever had.

For context, I ordered a suit for an important work event based on the advertised delivery timeframe of 3–5 working days. After more than seven working days had passed, I hadn’t received any updates, so I contacted customer support. I was told they had experienced issues with their e-commerce platform and that my suit would arrive within a few days.

Fair enough.

Another week passed and still nothing. My work event came and went, and I was left without the suit I’d specifically ordered for it.

Then, over two and a half weeks after placing the order, I received an email from Royal Mail informing me that I needed to pay £156 in import duties before the suit could be delivered. This was the first I’d heard of any additional charges. When I contacted customer support, there was little to no acknowledgement of the inconvenience. Their response was simply that I should pay the fee and they would reimburse me afterwards.

So I paid it.

I’ve since followed up multiple times and still haven’t been reimbursed.

The suit eventually arrived almost a month after I placed the order. After the amount of time, effort, chasing and unnecessary admin this has required from my side, I honestly feel more inclined to throw it away than wear it.

What made the experience even worse was the customer service. Responses were consistently slow, there was a complete lack of empathy throughout, and the only gesture offered was 15% off a future order — a discount that was already available on the website as a promotion.

The entire experience has been unacceptable from start to finish. This company has shown a complete disregard for its customers, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Have experienced very good customer service with Isto on countless occasions both instore and online, also meeting their owners who are very down to earth. The quality of their garments are sound. Have their coats, their linen shirts and also their sweaters and they are all holding up quite well.

Wonderful quality. Only 4 stars because the fine texture of the fabric doesn't quite suit a 'work jacket'. A slightly firmer fabric would have been more appropriate.

I ordered undyed organic t-shirts and undyed organic denim trousers, and the quality is genuinely impressive.

The t-shirts are made from a heavy-weight cotton and the denim is equally weighty. The brand is also transparent about its entire production chain.

Yes, it is expensive, for some or most of people, but each piece is made to last. During the sales, prices also drop considerably and a t-shirt can cost as much as fast fashion one. Also, it is true, clothes don't need to be washed constantly, hanging them out overnight is often enough. Take care with washing, follow instructions, because there are no miracles.

A couple of wishes: the womenswear range is still quite limited, so I ended up opting for menswear (a kind of unisex fit), which works but isn't ideal. With the t-shirts specifically, if you're buying from the men's range, size down, I'm a 34 and ordered an S, which is quite big for me; if you want a closer fit, go for XS.

Delivery is fast and reliable, which is always a bonus.

I'd also love to see more organic cotton pieces dyed with mineral pigments, there's real potential there that feels underexplored in Portugal. On the cuts, the trouser options (denim, organic cotton and linen) more straight or flare styles for women, though I understand that follows current fashion trends...

Overall, a brand worth supporting if you care about fabric quality and honest materials, and if you're willing to consume less and build a wardrobe slowly and intentionally, if you want clothing that isn't toxic, and if you care about the environment and the labour and human rights of the people who make your clothes worldwide.

I recommend ISTO and hope they, and the few other projects like theirs in Portugal, continue to thrive.
