I ordered the item on 17 July
I ordered the item on 17 July, it was supposed to be delivered by DPD, but they didn't make the delivery. I was not kept informed of this. I chased customer service for an update, but no reply. Eventually I rang and a very nice colleague organised for the item to be sent Royal Mail the following day - all arrived and recieved by my friend.

I bought some knives at the Soho branch…
I bought some knives at the Soho branch today. I was assisted by Maulik Shukla, who was extremely helpful and friendly. I told him what my budget was and he showed me few different sets, recommending what was best for me, without being pushy or trying to up sell me.
It was a great experience that makes wanna go back and buy again from the shop. Highly recommend for any level of professional or amateur chefs. 10/10

Fantastic Service
Shrujal spend quite a bit of time with me helping me select the pervert knife and talking me through all the different options and differences between the knives. He explained in great detail how to properly take care of it.
The shop also offers free engravings (atl for my knife) and a free sharpening which you wouldn't get from an online store.

Ordered a nice knife for my mums 70th birthday, I requested that it be engraved with "SS@70" (due to 10 character limit) "Still Sharp at 70".
sadly when the knife arrived the engraving must have gone wrong half way through as the bottom of it is all shifted and looks terrible. I am really hopeful they will do something about it because as it stands I cannot give this to her, it looks atrocious.

They offered me a 15% refund on the knife (worthless to me).
They are raising a return label for the knife, I will get my mum a knife somewhere local instead.

Wow!!!! What an Afernoon
I took a 3-hour private knife sharpening class with Maulik - one of the best experiences I have had in a longtime!
We started with 60 minutes focused on knife blade theory and the science of bevel sharpening.
We then moved onto a 30-minute discussion on the difference sharpening tools, whetting stones, flattening stones, stone holders and sink bridges, etc.
We finally finished with 60 minutes sharpening a single knife blade - a very meditative experience.
Thank you Maulik for your patience and for imparting your knowledge! AND I can now sharpen a knife!!!!

highly trustworthy shop
This is an incredible business that I would recommend to anyone looking to purchase high quality knives and kitchenwares. It's extremely rare these days to have a business be so thorough with vetting their suppliers - their team goes out regularly to Japan to meet with them. My husband and I also LOVED the private knife sharpening and knife skills class we did with Maulik Shukla. He made us appreciate the craftsmanship of our knives so much more, and was overall a very helpful (and fun) instructor.

Got exactly what I wanted and I was guided very well. Shrujal helped me find a perfect sharpener stone as prr my needs which was a 220/1000 gird stone and also helped me to understand the whole dynamics of how to sharpen a knife & where I was missing out.
