Update: Having posted this review and contacting KAKE directly, they set me a replacement mascara free of charge. Which was the resolution I was looking for, so I will now change the rating to 5. The mascara is easy to use and the wand makes getting into the corners much easier.
With regards to removal, I use a face wash/ cleanser to remove my makeup (plouise) and using this with warm water and a flannel, means I have never had an issue with removal. It's early days as to whether the serum has an impact but so far the results appear positive.

At first I really loved this mascara. I found it easy to apply and remove. I had high hopes for the growth serum but 3 days of using the item and wand is stuck in the tube. I have checked their returns policy and basically unless you dont use the mascara, you cannot return it. I am shocked this is KAKES position on customer care. Charging £25 for a mascara is ok when it's backed by good customer service. Let's see what they do with this complaint...

My new go to mascara

I’m now on my 2nd tube and I can definitely recommend. It lasts all day without flaking or smearing. The brush is brilliant and helps you capture all the lashes.

This mascara does what it says! I would ignore the bad reviews on here as there are quite a few factors to consider! If your own lash health is extremely poor, this does not work overnight and not will it instantly improve appearance. My lashes were in pretty good condition after I removed my semi perms so this mascara accentuated what I had but with it having clean ingredients there isn’t much room to improve appearance because that’s not what it’s for! I’ll preface this by saying I do use a lash serum at night when I can remember but I’ve been using the mascara most days for about 3-4 weeks and noticed a slight improvement in thickness which I assume will only get better the longer u use it! How your lashes look once applied depends on the condition of your lashes! I found this to be better than mascara that I have historically used. I will repurchase when it runs out. For the reviews that say it’s ripped their lashes out when trying to get it off, you are 10000% removing it wrong. I splash warm water in my eyes and it slides off when you slide your fingers down your lashes which is think is much better than wearing normal mascara and having to use eye make remover!

As mascara it’s ok but it’s counter productive when you consider how many lashes you stand to lose by trying to scrub it off .
I tried everything ! Vaseline , eye make up remover then noticed on an IG post someone reporting the same issue and Kakes response was “ it comes off with warm water “
Tried that . 3 days after application I still can’t get it all off. On the plus if you’re looking for a waterproof mascara that a tsunami wouldn’t budge then this could be the one for you.
Returning to my regular mascara and eye lash serum .

Unfortunately this was a massive waste of £25 as it was thin and did absolutely nothing for my lashes and can not be used

2 stars cld be unfair when I’ve only just started using the Don’t Fake It mascara because it’ll probably take a while for the growth serum to work but the 2stars can also apply to how it doesn’t coat the lashes as well as other mascaras so needs quite a few coats, plus, it’s really difficult to remove at the end of the day. I’m hoping the serum works it’s magic over time, otherwise a complete waste of money and I won’t be buying again

I bought this for myself and my daughter and it's now our all time favourite mascara!! no mess no transfer and lash serum definitely deserves 5 stars

I use a great lash serum and mascara but thought the idea of a two in one product sounded amazing. I couldn’t be more disappointed with this product. I’m not sure how it works as a growth serum but as a mascara it’s awful, does nothing for my eyelash length or volume and the applicator is terrible.
I work for a skincare company where if the product isn’t suitable you can return for a full refund so I wrongly presumed I could do the same- sadly not as apparently the product is non returnable/refundable once opened. I think any company selling high quality products can have confidence to accept returns- therefore I think they know this product does not meet the standard advertised.

No difference to my eyelashes at all :(

I’ve been using the Don’t Fake it serum mascara in black since May 2024 and loved the results on my lashes.Love the natural look and my lashes have looked so much stronger and longer over time.Im a blonde so the Cacao one was something I’d been waiting for and now have been using that one since November…love this shade so much now 🫶🏻I will own & use the Kake serum tubing mascara forever ⭐️ Brilliant 👏👏⭐️

This mascara is a game changer. I bought my first Kake Mascara when it was launched. While I throughly enjoyed the product and the appearance of my lashes the black was too harsh for my colouring. Shortly after making my purchase I was notified that they would be launching the same mascara but in brown. Hallelujah!
This mascara has changed the appearance of my short and fine lashes. There is definition without flaking, no more raccoon eyes, hallelujah.
My lashes are healthier and fuller.
Great price point. Ordering and delivery was 1st class.

Absolutely the best mascara I've ever used , I'm 71 and my lashes weren't too great , since using Kake my lashes are longer , fuller and so healthy , I bought the black and then my hubby bought me the cacao for Christmas..... superb value , brand look is luxury but best of all the product is faaaaabuuuulous

So delighted now with the brown mascara. Huge fan of the mascara , love the eye lash curler too.

I wanted to share my honest review of a mascara I recently tried. While it looks like any other black mascara when applied, it doesn't provide any noticeable lengthening or thickening effects. Which is fine, as that’s pretty much what you'd expect from a typical mascara.

However, I encountered a significant issue when it came to removing it. The removal process was quite difficult and felt similar to dealing with eyelash glue – stringy and stubbornly clinging to my lashes. Additionally, if the product gets into your eyes during removal, it stings and feels gritty due to the way it comes off in clumps.

Moreover, it had a somewhat chemical feel to it, and one day at work, I noticed my eyes became bloodshot. I'm not sure if this mascara helps lashes grow as I only used it for a week, so I can't comment on that aspect.

I hope this review helps anyone considering this mascara. Overall I wouldn’t recommend and feel like this product was a complete waste of £30.

The only thing worse than this mascara, which is smudgy, thin and clumpy, is the customer service. Avoid.

Kake have replied below but unfortunately there are a number of inaccuracies in their recollection. I asked a number of questions by email about returning the product and they declined to answer, meaning that I couldn’t send the product back to them.

This isn’t a personal dislike of the product - it’s unfit for purpose and this complaint hasn’t been dealt with fairly.

Impossible to remove, I've lost loads of my lashes from only using it twice. There's something seriously wrong with this formula.

I saw an ad, and I loved the premise of it tube mascara with a serum within it good for your eyelashes. None of the toxic nastiest inside. However it doesn’t flipping work. I put the first coat on my lashes looked exactly the same. I put the second coat on a bit better, but nothing WOW definitely not looking like when she was applying it in the ad I was bamboozled save your money.

Loved the product for the whole week that it worked!
Contacted customer care and never responded. So I was £40 down on a mascara that got stuck in the bottle
