Karri Reviews 

We are original customers from when the first KARRI was bought out until now with the latest messenger 2 models. Both of my children are ADHD/autistic and having these to help teach them a little freedom has been amazing. It gives me peace of mind that they are safe and I know exactly where they are.

Any time I've had any issues I've been able to get it resolved very quickly through Instagram messages or through emails with customer service. The team are very helpful and understanding.

The only thing I would say needs some attention to is the new cases for the messenger 2 as we are already on our second case because the loop where the strap attaches has broken/split. They could do with reinforcing.

Wonderful and responsive customer services. Unfortunately we didn't calculate the impact of a letter arriving at the B+B I was staying at, asking me to pay customs fees in advance. I was only at the B+B for 2 days so I couldn't pay the fee in time and get the package. Now I'm back in the US and I might get a Karri messenger 2 in the future but one of the biggest needs was for that 2 week international trip. I think it's a great product and company even though I never got to use one.

The cynic in me thought this Karri wouldn't work as advertised, but I was completely wrong! The signal, the light animations, the gps all work as advertised. Karri is a great solution!

I bought the case/bumper/lanyard a few weeks later. It does the job, but not sure about the silicone loops at the bottom, they feel like they could rip easy. All in all thought, does the job and hasn't yet broken.

It is clear this company is putting a lot of love into this product - they have taken the time to get it right.
My two pre-order messengers arrived this week and my kids are delighted.

The messengers work very well compared to any other smartwatch / communicator we've tried and the simple, physical UI is ideal. They were very simple to set up.
The membership was discounted which was also appreciated - I've taken 2 years.

I'd prefer the delay over getting something which didn't work as well. I have a feeling they are constantly working on it too.

I’ve already recommended Karri to my entire family and to my son’s friends’ parents. I really hope that future versions will come with more colour options, because I’d love to see even more choice!

The concept is fantastic however I consistently get connectivity issues which is frustrating. As of now our device won't even connect and the customer support team are really slow at responding to issues. I had real faith in the product as I even got one as a gift for our friend's child too, but I'm losing faith the product unfortunately.

Updated: following Karri response, this has been an ongoing issue over the last few months, this isn't just a one off complaint.

A real alternative to the phone for kids !
My kids and I are very happy about Karri. We live in France and it works fine. The dev team is adding new features all along and updates. It is robust ! It fell quite a lot of time and no harm... works like a charm. I totally recommand it !

My kids are loving it. I've never felt so well connected to them since they started using Karri Messenger 2. The best part is actually that they feel connected among themselves without having to be exposed to unnecessary screen time on traditional mobile devices. Very child friendly!

We recently received our Karri and now we are up and running it's proving a fantastic piece of kit for both my 8 year old son and 11 year old daughter - so much so I think we will need a second.
I really don't want my daughter to have a phone but having the Karri means she can have that bit of freedom she craves whilst keeping in touch with me. (Love the GPS tracker). My son uses it to stay in touch when staying with other family members and really enjoys the feeling of independence and connection it gives him.
Battery life is good and charge up is quick. Really rate the product and have recommended to others

Great concept, but the device was not reliable enough in my experience. I encountered several technical issues, poor battery life, significant network drop, notifications not coming in and spent too much time testing and troubleshooting rather than using it normally. I ultimately returned it under the 30-day guarantee and requested a refund. KARRI has potential, but reliability needs to improve significantly as the product is to be used by kids.

Great invention to be connected to my 6 year old kid

The two biggest issues for me and my child are the battery and the weight/size of the device. It needs daily charging which makes it unusable for a multi day trip i.e. camping or a sleepover. My child is 5 and doesn't remember to charge it. The second biggest issue is the size. It's too big for pockets or wearing around the neck making it unusable when out which is the whole point of the product.

Now the positives - my child likes it and enjoys getting messages from friends and family.

We ordered our Karri v2 in 10.2025 and received in 07.2026. But it was faulty and we requested a replacement. The replacement came to us in the end of July.
Works ok. Looks great. Also, subscription price is very low, if you choose 2 year subscription. But some functionalities could be better:
- Battery life is max one day. For a new Karri, screen free device! Even if the half day it is near WiFi. I think a few months later it will be much worse.
- If there are 2 messages in a row, and you didn't hear or understand the first one, there is no possibility to repeat it. You can repeat only the last message.
- I assume it doesn't charge when it is off. At least ours doesn't show charging activity.

Usually I suggest Karri, but tell people, that it feels like Beta version.

Its a game changer. As a divorced parent when they are with my ex i can reach to my children without interracting with my ex . It used to cause me anxiety to ask how kids are doing now i am.just sending them voicemessage. No smart phone . Its a must for divorced mums

My daughter is 5 and learned how to use it independently within a week or so. The buttons are mostly fine though I think the main button that needs quite a firm and consistent “up” or “down” pressure is quite difficult for young kids.
She loves being able to communicate with her cousin and family with short fun messages. Great device; looking forward to the developments

The product works okish once you sort out wifi connection issues. but connections are unstable and require maintenance. Family is travelling and in order to set the wifi up someone has to enter my account on their phone, and reconnect to local setup. once that's done the karris can receive messages but can't send them. so haven't been able to use for intended purposes

Really impressed. Have three kids a year apart (eldest is just turning 10). We live on a small holding where we allow them to roam regularly and was looking for something similar to a walkie talkie. Reviews were mixed but honestly these are pretty great! No screens, decent battery, simple once you've got the hang of the buttons. Everyone can talk to each other, I can see them on GPS, and the recent addition of pinging them if they're MIA is exactly what they were missing. Can't fault them! Hoping they come out with some different coloured cases!

Highly recommend, lovely company that value their customers. My 7 yo daughter loves it and it allows me to keep in touch with her when she is in holiday clubs in less familiar childcare settings. Data package deals are really reasonable, when you consider the price and the communication it offers, it's fab.

So grateful this product exists! It is a game-changer for those of us needing to offer our kids a way to keep in touch when they start walking to school alone but without all the pitfalls we’ve seen with our older kids who have smartphones. This is everything we need it to be and any parent should seriously consider it. Super durable, small and subtle to carry and a way to check on our kids without handing them the world in their pocket, and all th risk that comes along with it.
Our 11 year old is loving showing it to anyone who shows even the vaguest interest!

We got the Messenger2 for my 6 year old son’s birthday. Today has been his first full day using it out of the house and it’s been so much fun. He got used to the controls quickly enough and all the features work great so far. It’s lovely getting messages from him whilst I’m at work!
