I got the Air which is part of their latest collection. I got the full pack and definitely recommend opting for it if you are getting it for your laptop.

There is no laptop compartment otherwise, so the laptop case is essential. I’ve used it inside and also separately as a bag, so that’s one of my favorite features because the laptop case comes with its own pockets, so sometimes it’s more than enough to carry on its own.

Perhaps the Grand would’ve been better for travel, but so far I’ve used the expandable pocket when I needed to fit a couple more things.

I also had the previous generation named One and a couple of weeks ago I received the new Grand!

It really is a huge improvement! The zippers run super smooth, and I’ve found the expandable pocket to be a lifesaver with gym clothes.

The shoes and wet clothes fit perfectly and also keep the wet stuff separate from the rest.

I was one of the backers in their Grand and Air campaign and all I can say is that my wife loved the concept as well as the quality.

Yes, it did take a while to arrive, but being a Kickstarter campaign, it was expected. I was a bit worried to be honest because there were so many reviews, but yea I’m glad I didn’t listen because it was all worth the wait.

You'd think a company that ends their posts with a chipper "We're just an email away!" signoff would actually answer emails, but this one does not. They pretend to be a new Kickstarter business but have actually run nine campaigns and their indifference to customer service OR quality of product OR honesty in their campaign promises is deliberate. Spend your money at a reputable company that makes solid products, not on that abuses its platform and customers. I still have no bag and zero responses to emails even though they claimed to be finishing the shipping process and would be catching up on emails within a week (that was 13 days ago).

Their preferred response seems to be claiming that they reached out several times, so just know that if they write that in response to this, it's another lie.

I’ve been looking for a bag like the Grand & Air for years and after the first 3 weeks of using it, I can say that it fills 90% of my needs, which is a loooot more than I can say for all my other 15+ bags.

I’ve been using it for more or less a week and aaaaabsolutely in love with it so far.

I will make sure to get back with a more in depth review after a few months.

For those of us that always want to fit one more thing, I can firmly say that the Grand is the bag we’ve been looking for.

I wish I could’ve received it in December, but none the less, it’s here now and I am making the most of it.

Today I received my 2nd La Mansio!

I had so many positive experiences with my One that I decided to join the second Kickstarter campaign.

The Grand comes with all the improvements that I would've like to see in the first generation. It's clear that they took all the feedback and made an even better bag this time around.

I ordered my Grand&Air in november and I'm still waiting for....
Now I'm reading recent reviews and they are all poor. The receipt of the goods uncertain, the bags are supposed to be high quality but instead seems to be a chinese product.

Really disappointing Kickstart experience. Dishonest and sparse communication. They have our $ and months later, we have no product. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!

Very bad custumerservice. My order made the third week of November has been sent by December 18. One month later. They told us they were giving it a high priority!!!! It was meant to be a Christmas gift. We still did not receive the package. There is no communications possible with la mansio.
The website gives the impression that the products are produced in Italy. In reality it is a Chinese product.
Don’t buy there!!! There a sufficient other liable companies selling similar or even better bags.

Before I pledged for the 2nd Kickstarter campaign, I read through the horrific stories from their 1st Kickstarter where thousands of backers complained about La Mansio being an unethical company. I figured their issues last time were rookie mistakes that would get fixed after that experience (they said this themselves in the 2nd campaign). Those who finally got their bags in the 1st campaign were happy with the product and they were now an established company, so I took the chance.

I regret giving them the benefit of the doubt. Clearly the same issues are happening with excuses about issues with production delays where they blame their supporters (e g., you didn't reply to the survey fast enough), lying about the shipping cost and charging an exorbitant amount instead (e.g., $~$22-29 quoted estimate that turned into $50-180 required charges, then lying the shipping charges are only $9 more than estimated), and threatening with delaying shipment further if you don't pay for this price hike asap. All in all, you end up slowly being drained of more and more money because they start scamming the backers the moment in the campaign you can't cancel your pledge. No one has received their bags to date, was supposed to arrive in November.

There is risk in supporting a Kickstarter but this company abuses the concept. This is now an established company and advertised in their 2nd campaign as such to make it seem they are trustworthy. They use Kickstarter backers to fund their R&D and then treat them horribly. Backers genuinely want to support cool products coming to market for the benefit of all potential customers, but this company treats the backers worst than customers from their web store.

This is an unethical company. I hope no one else gets fooled by them in the future. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Like many others, I purchased a bag through the Kickstarter campaign. Unfortunately, the entire process has been plagued by a lack of transparency and communication. Months after the original shipping date, no one has received their bag, and we still have no clear timeline for delivery—despite having paid for it months ago.

Adding to the frustration, the campaign initially estimated shipping costs to be $25–$29. However, for most countries, shipping is now around $100 or even higher.

To make matters worse, significant discounts on the company’s website have made the bags cheaper than what we paid during the Kickstarter campaign. I documented these lower prices, including much cheaper shipping ($15), and sent the screenshots to La Mansio, but I received no response.

In summary, I paid months ago for a bag I never received, with shipping costs far exceeding the original estimate, and ended up paying more than if I had purchased directly from the website.

I couldn't understand the number of 5-star ratings until I realized the difference between an online buyer and a Kickstarter backer. Just so you all know what company you're dealing with. LaMansio launched a Kickstarter campaign in June, got more than 2000 of us locked into purchasing the Grand and Air at an early, supposedly discounted price with an estimated $30-shipping price. They then offered online buyers the same product at a lower price than us (which they hastily amended) and quoted us exorbitant shipping costs ($107 to Dallas, Texas) despite their regular bags on the website being sold with free shipping for purchases over $300. I supported 1 Grand and 1 Air to the tune of $511- more than $100 shipping to the continental US is insane but I will not receive my bags if I don't pay. The principle of a Kickstarter project to my simple mind is to support up-and-coming businesses, not allow large companies to hide behind fake profiles to ensure, pre-manufacture, non-refundable sales of a product. This Romanian business is highly unethical.

Backed La Mansio on kickstarter and was so excited about their new bag design. Mistakenly thought that as an established company the process and delivery of orders would be lower risk. Turns out that I was wrong. The orders have been severely delayed, communication lacking, complete lack of transparency around costs with additional expenses coming through - including shipping charges of up to USD149 for some kickstarter backers (not even accounting for the extra customs tax)… and their so called premium product is just cheaply made in China. Everything feels like a scam - stay away (or look at their kickstarter page comments and Reddit’s for evidence).

I backed this summer during the 2nd kick starter campaign, I have an email to confirm shipment is charged at 0.00, and yet I am now being asked to pay an additional $49 for shipment from CHINA?!

I am not alone here. I have seen tens of messages from other dissatisfied customers who were also told shipment was included in the cost.

Absolutely DISGUSTING way to operate.
