Very easy to set up, as long as you have the reference numbers

Great to be able to notify everyone from one source. Life Ledger saves so much time and the process is really easy.

This was a great service and unbelievably cheap too. Communication with the different companies was really straightforward. I just couldn't face talking to people about my bereavement, thankfully I didn't have to.

Despite being advertised as a free service and promoted at register offices, £19 is demanded before you can make any progress to notify deaths. This is in contrast to FAQ which states the first 3 notifications are free. This is misleading advertising, distressing at a difficult time. Don’t even bother to register an account.

Gives the impression they will send blanket notice to 1000 companies who will then follow up if deceased was a client. AFTER insisting on payment they then have a dedicated form for each company, some of which requires details I didn't have and a few of the companies I did want to contact weren’t supported. Nice idea but not quite there yet and a bit misleading. Took feedback so may get better

Excellent service at a very stressful time. The customer agents are efficient and empathetic to the situation. This saved a lot of time for me as an executor - Thank you.

A great idea but more trouble than it's worth to actually do everything.

I have used Life Ledger twice in recent months (yes sadly two deaths). Each time their notifications seemed to go through promptly, and the processes with the various companies notified got started.
Life Ledger notifies multiple companies using one set of info, but it doesn't save you from dealing with each company. I had realised that before I got started.

I would highly recommend using Life Ledger as it they offer a brilliant free service that makes life a whole lot easier at an extremely difficult time.
I supported my sister to use Life Ledger after her partner died after only a very short illness.
The service was very easy to use and made the process of informing the many companies her late partner was involved with a much simpler process.

I used Life Ledger when my brother died of cancer. I hadn’t seen my brother in years but looked after him at the end of his life. He lived in sheltered accommodation and was on benefits which were his sole income and the
amount of companies he owed money too would have been a real challenge to sort out.
I inputted every company, bill and reference number I could find and at every step if I had a problem I contacted Life Ledger who were amazing. The companies were trying to recover their money and as my brother had nothing they could have tried to chase me. As I’m only the person who sent the notification this did not happen.

I lost my father a few years before in COVID and no company would talk to me unless I had power of attorney which I did but it was a complete nightmare it was like trying to talk to a wall this was just to notify them of his death. I couldn’t cancel his phone plan, rent etc and all the bills were still being presented to his bank. It took months to sort out, which at the time I just wanted to grieve my father.
Life Ledger took the stress out of sorting my brothers finances so I could take time to grieve for him. The company does what it says it notifies lots of companies on your behalf without spending hours of your own time. It does not search for hidden assets etc the banks and pension funds all contact you for security reasons and do this directly.
Well done Life Ledger a great company with fantastic customer services.

This website doesn’t help at all

You have to have all the deceased bank details- it doesn’t help my searching for them on your behalf

Then the inputting of bank details is not easy- in fact the flow of the website is so unfriendly it will cause non-tech people confusion at a time when simplicity is needed

And then it only sends the details to the bank who ask you to then send them everything directly anyway

Not helpful 90% of companies required not listed - for me a waste of time and effort

Wouldn't download any PDF or JPEG files using my mobile phone, no matter how small the file. Going by the reviews, there doesn't seem much point in any case. It is far preferable to deal with companies direct & then you know it's been done. Always check online first if the organisation has a bereavement helpline, as you get straight through with the minimum of fuss. Or if the automated system asks the purpose of the call, just say 'bereavement' & they'll put you straight through. This is my 2nd time doing this now & found there is no rush, just do one thing at a time & follow the .GOV advice on what to do when someone dies. Hope this helps

OVO recommended this service recently after a recent bereavement from a family member estranged from their family. I found it to be a very good service, you input what details you do know of and upload proof of the death certificate and then these companies do the rest. Super quick and has meant the next of kin didn’t need to search for account numbers and details.

We learnt about Life Ledger, a fantastic death notification service, from our local registry office when we registered the death of our mother in February. At a time of intense grief and heartache the prospect of having to contact numerous different companies, ranging from banks & building societies to utility providers & insurance companies, to inform them of her death and having to repeat the same painful words each time (once you managed to get through to a real person!) filled us with dread.

Life Ledger took away a lot of the pain and hassle of this. A brilliant service that's really straightforward and simple to use. Once you've entered some basic details you choose the companies you wish to be notified and that is it. You are given an expected response timeframe with each notification and Beth and her team follow up any outstanding responses.

A great service that I'd thoroughly recommend when life is at its most difficult.
