Stay well clear. After a routine booster appointment our vet suggested that our Border terrier required dental treatment.She was trying her best to check him over but he was having none of it ( this is always the case when he visits the vet and has been since he's been a puppy)He was very anxious and panting as he doesn't like going to the vets. She noticed he had some plaque and tartar and suggested we get him in for dental treatment but couldn't say how much he would need done until he was asleep.We agreed a date and he was taken in the following week. As the vet couldn't determine how much work was needed she gave us an estimated bill of £1000 but explained it possibly would be lower once they had carried out the necessary work. The final bill once the dental treatment was done was £730
We paid it upfront to the vet who then tried to claim the cost back on our behalf. We had a lot of to and fro with LPC and Trent over a number of weeks they were Constantly referring to clauses in the policy wording .They eventually said they wouldn't pay out as according to the dogs vet records from the previous year it had been suggested by our vet the that the dog needed dental treatment as he had bad breath. Yes he had a bit of a smelly breath( the smelly breath came and went, it wasn't a constant thing)but he doesn't let the vet near him as he's terrified ( this has always been the case from a puppy). Also it didn't state on his vet records from the previous year that dental treatment was required, only that he had a smelly breath. Now this could have been down gurgling tummy ( which Border terriers are very prone to and ours is ). So bearing in mind the vet hasn't even seen in the dogs mouth( but can still determine that he needs dental treatment) Trent and LPC have decided that on what is on the dogs vet records means he needed dental treatment . I find it very bizarre that they can make that decision and as we didn't get it done within the 3 months timescale apparently stated in the terms and conditions of the policy they said that they would not payout to cover the £730 vet bill .Now as responsible dog owner for over 37years who has never claimed on any pet insurance as we have always looked after our dogs , so you think I would wait well over 15 months if my dog needs dental treatment. Absolutely not.
I have my 2 dogs insured with LOC but reassured when the policy expires in January I will not be renewing it and I would not recommend Lifetime Pet cover to anyone. An absolute disgrace of a company and total greed for money.

Dreadful service, avoid at all costs.
It took them months to process our first claim. We kept being referred to Trent services, who kept referring us back to lifetime pet insurance and so on. Neither would admit it was their error and in the end, we had to ring anytime we needed to claim.
We attempted to claim several times across the year, from stomach issues to falls in the house. Lifetime pet insurance’s default response is to refuse and claim that the condition is pre-existing.
We were forced to escalate all claims to the ombudsman to bypass the automatically refusals handed out by lifetime pet insurance.
You’d be better off saving the money or going elsewhere.

Renewed policy early without acceptance
Renewed my policy early when I did not accept the renewal offer. Email was sent to update details and not to accept. This was made very clear in the email stating I was not emailing to accept the renewal and I would make an informed decision once the details had been updated. Disappointed with the lack of customer service so will go elsewhere.
