I’ve ultimately decided to move away from the product because of a significant values and culture mismatch with the company behind it, Palo Alto Software.

Over time, I’ve found that the company’s messaging—particularly in customer communications and public leadership commentary—places a strong emphasis on contemporary social and political activism. This includes repeated focus on identity language, pronouns, and ideological themes that feel unrelated to the core purpose of business-planning software.

As a Christian business owner, I prefer tools that remain neutral, professional, and focused on helping customers build sustainable businesses, without embedding social or political agendas into support interactions or brand identity. That neutrality is something I increasingly did not experience here.

Leadership perspectives also matter to me when choosing long-term partners, and the public positions expressed by company leadership—including Sabrina Parsons and Tim Berry—do not align with my worldview or business philosophy.

This doesn’t mean LivePlan won’t work well for others. If you value progressive social messaging as part of a company’s culture, you may feel right at home. For those seeking a more values-neutral, mission-focused business tool, it may not be the best fit.

The business plan format is super useful, with helpful instructions.
While kind of fun to use, I am wary of the AI aspect. It did help me fill out some of my sections in a professional sounding way, but it also added some questionable numbers and mentioned sources that I couldn’t find anywhere on the internet. Like mysterious unnamed “neighborhood surveys” indicating broad support for very niche ideas, and mentioning foot traffic studies that don’t seem to actually exist. I would definitely recommend Liveplan, but I think the AI feature needs some work, and should include sources for its assertions.

I had a very poor experience with LivePlan—both the product and the billing/support process.
First, I was charged $40 on January 23, 2026 for a subscription I did not have active. I had previously canceled my only subscription months earlier and was not using the service. When I contacted support, they confirmed that my older account had not been active or charged since August 2025, and that another account “has never incurred charges and is cancelled.”
Despite that, support then pointed to a different email and claimed an account existed because “someone submitted the sign-up form with your email and payment method information,” stating it was created July 22, 2025. That explanation is not reassuring—it raises serious concerns about how billing and account creation are validated.
The resolution was also disappointing. Support told me they cannot help with refunds outside the 35-day money-back guarantee, and redirected me to a separate accounting “refund request” form instead of actually resolving the issue.
On top of billing concerns, the platform itself isn’t very useful. It mostly provides business plan headings and generic descriptions, but you still end up doing all the real work yourself. The “AI” component is especially weak—after trying it, I found it effectively useless, and I had to rely on other tools to get meaningful output.
Overall: unexpected charges, confusing account logic, limited refund support, and a product that doesn’t deliver real value. I requested deletion of my data because I don’t trust the system not to charge me again.
My advise: don’t trust this kind of platforms. Search to find more robust and legit platforms, AND PLEASE, DO NOT WASTE A PENNY ON THIS APPLICATION.

The program offers lots a great ways to plan, track, and project everything you need for your business. It was a little bit intimidating to get started, but once I started I felt like I had momentum and gain confidence as I went along.

I think it would be tough for someone who had no idea what they were doing at all with business planning to feel successful on their first try, but this is also the best program I have seen to practice and learn because you can go back and update quickly and easily.

The ease of use, making a business plan that is accessible anywhere on the cloud. The way things are explained here is foolproof, and the early adoption of A.I. to help write out what's in my head is proof that Liveplan is ahead of its time.
