I have already spoken to an uninterested person
I have already spoken to somebody on the 24th. He said I should’ve let the cake sit for 2 hours from the fridge - your guidelines state 30mins to 1 hour. He was not interested - I know with all of your cakes (I have purchased many different ones over the years) that they are lovely straight from the fridge.
I have purchased this particular cake at least 3 times …. my family and I all agree that this cake was very dense and dry, not spongy, light and moist like the others (which were eaten straight from the fridge) . I will return to pattisserie Valerie for my daughter’s birthday cake in July.

Antwoord van Lola's - Lola's Bromley
Hello Christine,
Thank you for getting in touch with us today.
We were very sorry again to hear that you were disappointed with the taste and quality of your cake.
Unfortunately the sponge and icing of fresh baked cakes are affected significantly by storage in the fridge, as this cold temperature causes fats in the cake and icing, such as butter, to solidify, which can make the cake taste dense and dry.
As such, we always advise that our cakes need at least 2-3 hours out of the fridge to come up to temperature for that classic light and moist Lola's experience.
This is listed on our cake boxes, on our website and under our FAQs here: https://lolas-cupcakes-support.gorgias.help/en-US/storage-instructions-13050
We are sorry again that you were disappointed with this experience on this occasion and have been sure still to log this feedback with the relevant teams.
If you would like to discuss your order further with our team, please don't hesitate to contact us directly at hello@lolascupcakes.com.
Kind regards,
Wesley

I used to order my cakes at Lola’s Cake Bromley. Last order was Little Mermaid’s cake for my daughter’s birthday. We loved it! Order online was easy, collection was quick, prices are reasonable and the cake was absolutely amazing. I would like to have more theme’s cake options.
