Initiative to help garment workers impacted by Covid. Lost Stock allows shoppers to buy a mystery box of clothes cancelled by leading brands and retailers. For every box bought a garment worker and her family for a week through the Bangladeshi NGO, Sajida Foundation. This initiative was set up in May 2020 in response to $2bn of clothes being cancelled by leading brands with no payments being made to factories. In 7 months 125,000 boxes were sold, surpassing the initial target of 10,000. To do this a new global supply chain was built during a pandemic from scratch.

Thankyou for the box of surprises
Thankyou for the box of surprises. My daughter was delighted. We only had 2 items that weren’t suitable but I will pass them on. Most importantly is the fact that the box will help a family. That was the reason for buying the box- and that we have avoided filling landfill with discarded clothing. Thankyou for being creative and taking the initiative to see this project through.

Loststock's reply is wanting in itself. Evidently they did not read what I wrote. I'm not stupid, I know what they promised and that was not what was delivered. And to add, they didn't send anything until I said on the Facebook group that I was contacting the Police's Fraud Office.

Waited six months then 3 tops that would be no more than £4/£5 each arrived. Not from Bangladesh. Not the experience they sold. Disappointing.

I have order 2 boxes
I have order 2 boxes. Both did take a while to get here but we are in global pandemic. Why are people in such a hurry to get the boxes? It’s not like you are going out anywhere. Lost Stock did say it would take time and keep me up to date with emails.
The clothes I have received are good quality and fit well (a positive for a big lad like myself) The styles are not what I would have chosen but I like that.

Misleading and not for the workers and terrible products
Lost stock was terrible from start to finish.
Let’s start with the charity part, when we ordered, we did not know only 37% was going to the charity. That transparency page that’s gone up on the website has only been there (or at least, only been publicised) since people started to complain. And also - we were led to believe we were getting clothes from Bangladesh, that had been produced in factories there and couldn’t be sold to the high street. When in reality, that is not the case mine came from China. The clothes took months to arrive and I took part with 4 friends we all ordered at the same time when the website launched the final box which was my friends didn’t arrived until November. So that’s misleading we all waited weeks and weeks over the original time scale. The concept of the product was that we would be sent clothes that matched the preferences you ordered - in My case, this has absoloutely not happened as none of the clothes received matched the preferences. (I know this was an aim rather than a promise) but why ask if you can’t do it and this alone I would have said bad luck but with everything else it is another “misleading” element of this initiative.
The clothes were poor quality and not worth the RRP promised.
Amazing idea/initiative/concept - but clearly this is being managed by a for profit company rather than an actual charity... so they’ve probably profitised it and they’re cutting corners like a business/profit making mission would - eg., sending clothes from China... there you go... there's the actual business behind this - Mallzee... which is a company. a profit making business company. not a charity, like it's marketed. Great experience all round
Great experience all round. I had three bags in total from Lost Stock. The first two were pre-orders so naturally took a while to arrive (it clearly stated they were pre-orders when I ordered!), my final order arrived super fast. I went for the random items and loved every single thing. None were things I would necessarily think to pick up in a shop so it was great to expand my wardrobe and all the clothes fit great. More importantly, a fantastic cause which prevented clothes going to landfill and helped support workers affected by the pandemic!

Loststock review
The only reason why I’m giving it four rather than five stars is because of the delivery time - it took a longgg time for my box to arrive, but I appreciate this was due to an overwhelming number of orders!
In my Loststock box, I ended up with two lovely items that just didn’t suit me personally (I will be donating them to charity) and one item that I absolutely adore, a gorgeous floral crop top that can be worn in both summer and winter!
It feels great to know Bangladeshi workers are being supported through such a brilliant scheme run by Loststock!

I ordered from Lost Stock in the first lockdown after hearing about the factories in Bangladesh that weren't being paid. I thought it was a fantastic initiative and I really wanted to help. I was made aware from the start that the box may take a while to arrive so this wasn't an issue for me at all. When it did arrive, the clothes were great and I would happily purchase again.

I ordered during lockdown number one and was really chuffed with the bag of clothes I received! I thought this was a great initiative - my box did take a little longer to arrive (global pandemic etc), but Lost Stock stayed in contact to manage my expectations and to be honest, as this was a purchase I made to support a charity initiative I really was happy to wait. I ended up with a lovely mix of clothes I never would have picked for myself, but now wear regularly. It was a great wee delivery to receive during the general boredom of lockdown.

Great initiative and expectations set out clearly at the start. An excellent firm for keeping their customers updated. This was never designed to be a click and deliver tomorrow service.

The whole process was transparent and had no problem waiting a little while for the deliveries considering the state of the world when this was launched. I really enjoyed being able to select the age and broad style for the items.
I ordered three boxes (both female seasons and one male) and the wait was offset massively by the fact that each purchase fed a whole family in need for a week, I would have bought more if I could!

Lost stock are flagging reviews they don't like and claiming they're fabricated. I have sent email evidence to trustpilot so hopefully my review will be uncensored. What sort of company tries to censor honest reviews instead of owning up to their ineptitude?! Shame on them. Never again. Also pretty suspicious that at the same time as flagging bad reviews, 5 star reviews are appearing. Also hypocritical. They should flag the fake 5 stars they are awarding themselves!

I ordered my box in May 2020 and was quite happy to wait for it as it had been made clear it would be a while. It was a great concept and a brilliant cause. When I eventually did receive my box, it was even better than what I what expecting. For me it was all about the cause anyway, the clothes were a bonus. Hope there is something new for the future :)

Amazing concept come to life! So glad that I took part in supporting Lost Stock and I know that they achieved over and above what they set out to do! Delivery times weren’t an issue as this was communicated right from the very beginning! This was more about helping people than the clothing, but the clothing was definitely a bonus!

Incredible idea, beautiful quality clothes
I just love the whole concept of Lost Stock! I have worked in eCommerce for years and know how operationally challenging this must have been to execute, especially in the middle of a pandemic, and what the team managed to achieve was just incredible. The items took longer than initially planned, but given the circumstances it was completely understandable, and it was great that they kept people informed with updates on social media throughout. For me the point of purchasing was to support families affected by cancelled orders with a bonus of some clothes at the end of it. I received four items which I was really pleased with! One of them wasn’t to my personal taste, but it was great quality so I gave that item to a friend and kept the other 3 items. Overall really happy with my experience!

Such a great concept during a time when…
Such a great concept during a time when garment workers needed our help the most. I wasn't in love with the clothes I got (one dress was amazing, though) but that's the risk of buying a mystery box! As a very small company who were overwhelmed with orders, I think they did a great job with what they had.

Incredible company
Incredible company. Really happy with the clothes that were sent. Beautiful blouses. One I really love and wear all the time and the other two I have shared with my friends as they aren’t my style. The negative reviews don’t reflect the fact that this company is a charity and does really good work with some very highly quality products that deliver wages to struggling workers in developing countries that weren’t paid over lockdown. It seems people get side swept by lockdown and forget the real good. Could not recommend more highly 👏🏻🌟❤️

I absolutely loved my items and actually swapped and purchased more loststock dresses through another page as they were gorgeous and lovely quality.
The project provided much needed support for clothing factory workers which is amazing.

I brought 2 Lost Stock boxes one at the start and one in the autumn. My main reason was to try and help people and raise some money but with the added bonus of a few new clothes! I wasn't disappointed with what I received, it was exciting during lockdown to have clothes perhaps wouldn't normally choose for myself. I found that the social media communication was detailed and honest and it didn't bother me about the length of time it took to come that wasn't what it was about after all.
