I have been using Ludwig for years as my reference tool for writing correctly in English, before as a researcher and now as a project manager. The app recently improved a lot, incorporating many AI features, while maintaining a simple and usable interface. Great service!

Ludwig Guru has been a trustworthy online service

I cancelled my Ludwig.guru subscription back in 2023 and even received email confirmation from their support team confirming the cancellation. Despite that, they have continued to charge me annually – this is now the third year in a row they've taken money after cancellation.

To make matters worse, I no longer have access to premium features and cannot remove my payment details from their system. It feels like they’ve stored my card just to keep charging me, which is absolutely unacceptable and shady.

This is nothing short of a scam – how can a company charge someone three years in a row after cancelling and confirming it in writing? I’ve tried reaching out to support, but nothing changes. I will now be reporting this as unauthorised charges, filing a complaint with my bank, and escalating this to consumer protection authorities.

Please, if you’re considering Ludwig.guru - DO NOT enter your payment information. You might never stop getting billed. This platform is untrustworthy and unethical.

I am extremely frustrated and angry. Avoid Ludwig at all costs.

I LOVE this app. I write books and it has helped me to make sure there are no errors, to expand my thoughts, and give me new ideas in my writing. The only concern I have is when I want to copy and, perhaps, I'm doing it incorrectly. I have to click several times for it to enable copying. Otherwise, it deserves a 4.9 score!

I have been using Ludwig for a while and I find it very accurate and super useful. For any input that you give, it shows you occurrences of the same exact combination of words and occurrences of similar combinations. I like very much that the original source of those combinations is mentioned, so that you can look at what type of outlets (newspapers versus institution reports) have used each combination. Highly recommended!

I think the language tools provided by Ludwig are great and the interface is very user-friendly. I live in Italy, where I do translations as well as the proofreading of documents already written in English. Many of the documents I work with concern topics about which I do not have expert knowledge in terms of wording and collocations. Therefore, Ludwig is indispensable for my work as it provides citations regarding word use that I am interested in, and I consult it constantly each day. I also use it for topics I am familiar with, just to double-check my instincts are correct. There is an AI tool that says if something is correct or not, providing AI generated examples. As the staff of Ludwig inform you in an announcement, this is useful but is not infallible, and therefore I only check word use and collocations using the citations provided. Ludwig also offers other very good tools, but I chiefly use its database. In short, I can highly recommend Ludwig to anyone who is looking for this type of service and the others it provides. I couldn't do without it.

I have been an avid user of Ludwig since 2019. I am an academician whose mother tongue is not English, and I encountered Ludwig during one of the manuscript writing sessions :) Before Ludwig, I used Google to understand the context of any word or definition properly, but it was not what I was looking for. When I saw Ludwig and what it offers... I was more than happy! As a scientist, it directly affects the success of my work. Ludwig definitely skyrocketed the quality of my work... I express myself way better with its help. I recommended it to all my colleagues. I also use the Ludwig desktop app and advanced search tools in almost every paper I write. I have used Ludwig Guru for three years. Last year I use it more often than previously sine new helpful options have been added. I can not only verify my text but also get suggestions for improvements. In spite of English is not my mother tongue with Ludwig Guru I generate documents at my work even better than my colleagues who are native speakers.

I often recommend Ludwig.guru to people who share my frustration with using AI for writing, and that it often takes just as long or longer because AI rewrites require review and oversight - if one has critical thinking skills and wants to be precise in their terms, at least.

I have found that Ludwig stays truest to the precision of my language. I often just need a slight rephrase, streamlining or a different word choice. Ludwig doesn't take as much liberty with my original content and intent. This is especially important in writing related to original research or innovation. When this is the case, I don't want an LLM trying to fit my words/meaning into a box based on its existing knowledge base. In my experience, the team is responsive to customer communications and suggestions, which I appreciate.

Literally a scam. Cancelled my subscription a few months ago and I‘m still being charged the annual subscription. Add insult to fu**ing injury: I don‘t have premium benefits anyway and I can’t even delete my payment details. Avoid like the plague and don‘t enter your payment credentials.

An absolute ripoff, they won't even refund the money for an auto renewal

Hi! I wanted to corroborate what others have said. I had been using Ludwig Guru for two years but decided to cancel my subscription as I no longer needed it since I started using ChatGPT. I canceled my yearly subscription on November 29, 2024, ahead of the renewal date, and received confirmation from Ludwig Guru that my membership was canceled. However, I was still charged for a renewed subscription on January 12, 2025. I contacted them via their support service on the platform with no response. I also emailed them but received no reply. Luckily, I submitted a complaint to my credit card provider and received a refund from my bank.

My advice to you would be not only to cancel your membership but, most importantly, to delete your payment information from the Ludwig Guru website. I hope this helps. Best of luck!

I am a researcher and freelance translator. This app is of invaluable help to me both when writing my academic articles and for my work. Although I read that many people complain about Customer Service and with subscription updates, I personally have never had this type of problem. Every time there was a problem, Customer Service always responded to me very quickly and I had no problems when switching from a Premium to a Premium Plus subscription.
