Do NOT under any circumstances agree to a Macy's credit card through Citibank. Macy's staff strongly encourages card applications and card usage. Then the Citibank scam takes over. They mail no statements hoping you will miss payments with $40 monthly(!) late fees and 32.00%(!) interest. I made a $36 purchase and started receiving calls to pay off a balance of $153 three months later. I reluctantly paid and then Citi added another $1 and began the collection scam again.

I ORDER ON THE 15TH OF MAY, PACKAGE IS SUPPOSED TO BE DELIVERED THE 22ND OF MAY. I CONTACTED THE COURIER ON THE 20TH, THE COURIER SAID NO PACKAGE YET. I LET MACY'S KNOW, THEY SAID I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE 22ND FOR A REFUND, THE ACTUAL DELIVERY DATE. HERE IT IS, THE 24TH OF MAY, AND THE COURIER IS STILL SAYING THE SELLER HAS YET TO EVEN GIVE THEM THE PACKAGE. MACY'S SAYS THEY CAN'T REFUND ME. I HAVE TO WAIT YET AGAIN. MACY'S CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS POINT IS IN THE TOILET.

I want to give a HUGE shoutout to Elva Clasen, who is truly the BEST Cosmetic Manager at Macy’s in Coral Springs! Every time I shop for my favorite skincare line, Shiseido and Elva always above and beyond to make my experience amazing. Whenever there’s a sale, promotion, or new product launch, she personally takes the time to communicate the information to me, which I truly appreciate.
The moment you walk into her department, Elva greets you with such warmth and professionalism. She is incredibly welcoming, personable, and one of the rare people who genuinely remember her customers. She makes you feel valued and comfortable every single visit.
What I love most is how knowledgeable she is about skincare and cosmetics. Elva doesn’t just sell products — she listens carefully to what you’re looking for, asks questions about your skin type and concerns, and makes recommendations that are always spot on. She encourages you to test products and makes sure they work well with your skin before purchasing. Her passion for helping people look and feel their best truly shines through.
My personal favorite products are Shiseido Day & Night Creams, and thanks to Elva’s recommendations, I have received so many compliments on my skin! I recently turned 58, and I still get honks, stares, and compliments everywhere I go — that says a lot! Thank you, Elva, for always helping me feel beautiful and confident.

Paying online at Macys is next to impossible
Shopping online with Macys is okay. But it seems to be impossible to pay your account online. If you try to use your checkig account Macys insists on switching you to paperless payments or does not permit one to proceed in the payment. What a waste of time, and given how difficult the website is to use I am certainly not going to depent on the online payment system as I will only achieve more frustration.
Great costumer service
I have to say, that I had not been to macys parkchester in the Bronx in a while. I was very happy. I had this lady by the name of “Janet”in the bra area. She was so helpful, polite and very knowledgeable with her area. Macys needs more employees like her! Very delightful. I, for sure will be going back! I hope Janet is there to help me again!!!

I would rate Macy’s a five star review because the service is great and the app even had a section to see where your delivery is located. It also had awesome items and great prices also the quality was awesome. I would definitely still buy stuff everyday from Macy’s if I could!

Warwick fine jewelry department. They are terrible at resizing rings. Everything they sell is a size 7. So then you either have to reduce it or increase it on two occasions they really blew some expensive reductions for me. The ring would slip off still after they reduced it to a size 5 1/2 from a seven just not happy with her attitudes and like I shouldn’t have a problem with you waiting another two months right. And every time I went there I got someone different and it was always on a weekday. Do they have 10 people running the department? I think so just terrible experience and they wouldn’t refund the rings.

I love Macy's but the only thing I don't like is their order cancellation policy, which gives you only 30 minutes. The building I leave in has seen several lost packages recently, as it's a holiday season and the item I ordered wasn't cheap. Before it was shipped, I contacted live chat to ask them for a possibility of shipping the coat to Macy's store near me or for any other solution. As always, the chat didn't help. Moreover, the agent I talked to even forgot what my request was about and said no worries it will arrive as soon as possible. Please improve your cancellation policy.
Horrible Customer service
I got the same blouse twice, defective, which I could tolerate but it's the customer service that made it a horrible experience. They offshore their customer service so the reps are very hard to understand and they don't understand the problems. They also tell you things that aren't true like for example, twice I was told I didn't have to send the first one back and then the fourth time I was on the phone with them to follow up on refund, they told me I had to send the first one back to get my refund. And on top of all that they sent the replacement in the wrong color. I've done business with Macy's before and I like the quality of their products however, if you ever have a problem, you're in big trouble. It takes forever to get accurate resolution, IF it gets resolved because of the language barrier. All while investing HOURS on the phone and at UPS. I've lost all respect for Macy's now.
Not what it used to be
Macy's used to be a place I'd spend hours in. 10 or even 5 years go, sales personnel were genuinely nice and you had a feeling they both know their section and want you to leave the store happy with the experience. I remember Macy *not* being a chain thrift shop, I remember it being NICE.
Now after a long break I went to the New York store to get a birthday gift - granted I've done this online for many years now, but this was a special occasion and I still had the memories of Macy's of old.
I went to the gift section and tried talking to a young boy, and he just seemed genuinely disinterested - spoke slowly, minimal eye contact, so I ended up searching the website for items IN HIS SECTION.
I found an awesome floral vase, a very unique-looking piece, for under a hundred and was very happy with the find. I would give 4-5 stars if the young sales assistant actually helped me find it. I'm not sure how and why he works with customers, but it's a terrible fit and obviously managers don't care.
Reading some of the other reviews, this made sense - it just feels like Macy is no longer what it used to be, and current owners believe that customer service is an unnecessary expense, rather than an essential element or running a successful retail store.

Worst customer service ever. Two phone calls and 3 attempts to contact them on line with no reply and no help with my complaint.

My first time writing customer service feedback to a company. 11/21/2025 , 500 Southcenter Mall, Tukwila, WA 98188.
Never had an excellent customer service like this, a great employee, very knowledgeable and friendly helped me and observed her helping a customer who had language barrier like me who was ahead of me with patience and understanding and respect that most of us immigrants hardly ever get from English speaking customer service agents. Her name was Geraldine , didn’t get her last name , an African American who takes pride in her job and performs well in customer service. We will continue shopping at Macy’s in the future despite the disappointments we had with other employees.
Geraldine deserves recognition and praise by her management and should be considered a valuable employee. 🙏🙏👏🏽

Inflexible shipping
The order is predicted to arrive much later than originally promised. No one will be home at that time. I was not able to cancel or change the shipping since it was in process. Note, it has not been shipped yet. I would have paid for expedited shipping, but that couldn't be done. Very likely that the order will be stolen when it arrives. I won't order from Macy's online ever again. This was an expensive item.
Question not Answered
Called the Boise store home department to find out if they had a specific Dutch oven cast-iron pot. When I tried to explain the specifics of what I was looking for (a shallow bottom and a dome lid), the lady who answered the phone said, "You will just have to come to the store and look." I was trying to save gas money before heading to Macy's. So, I guess I will buy the Cast-iron Dutch oven from Amazon!

yikes they are failing and id guess trying to cut corners on cost saving for profits instead of rebuilding the customer relations which is how and business will strive. My experience was so placed my order no problem. after the first delivery was sent back due to carrier issue I reordered ok I get it. then they delivered to an unknown place 🙄- reordered again and again wrong place..... called told them the carrier said they messed up- they resend. then call me back saying they have to refund me then reorder. I call back because I haven't gotten the refund and when they do they refund me one item of the 6 now im waiting for them to correct their mistakes. truthfully ordering from them is a mistake. but there prices and items are nice and low. but they use third party shipping and offer no reimbursement for their failures. macys used to be reputable now they just dont care. THEY JUST DONT CARE SMH

I have been on the phone and live chat for 4 and half hours. They give fake names they hang up because they are distracted and disinterested and have no answer. It is so simple I got billed twice for the same item. Still not response from the CEO Tony Singer. They could care less about customers be aware

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I will never shop at Macy's ever again. What has happened to customer service? Macy's used to be a special, enjoyable experience when shopping. Now, I suppose it is all about profit. I went to my local (Temecula) Macy's 4 days ago to shop for an outfit for a wedding. I spent a total of 1 hour with HORRIBLE customer service. When I was trying to pay for the outfit, I asked the sales associate a question about shipping to the store as they did not have my size. She walked away from the counter to "find out" and never returned. I was left standing at the counter for at least 5 minutes waiting for her return while other customers were being helped by other sales associates. She never returned. The explanation offered to me by a manager working another register and witnessing the event was that the sales associate was only helping out in that department and had left to go back to her original station... while in the middle of helping a customer? Eventually, I paid for the outfit with the promise that I could pick it up AT THE STORE in 5-7 days. About 1 hour ago, I found an email from Macy's stating they CANCELLED my order with no explanation. I called customer service who could not give me an explanation... this is not the first bad customer service I have received in the past year or so at Macy's. I feel now something needs to be said. Macy's, you have lost me as a customer for life. I will never visit a Macy's again.
