The accounting department is dysfunctional. I have been a client since the late 90's. They send us a bill with the wrong account number for a purchase made by another card holder. In a second instance. They sent a bill for collection for $113.00, but this time while the account was incorrect, it was linked to my social security number (how is it possible?). Thus, I finally paid, and closed two accounts with Macy's. Where is the top notch Macy's where we used to shop?
Online inventory inaccurate, do not trust

I had a wonderful experience with macy on line. this is my 5th time ordering on line . i was simple and the product received was always to my satisfaction
WORST shopping experience
Very dissatisfying shopping experience. I thought I was buying from Macy’s. Placed the order on 12/5/24. Wife didn’t like the items. I returned them through a Macy’s store on 12/26/24 only to find that they came from a 3rd party vendor. I would not have purchased had I known.
Called Macy’s on 1/4/25. Jane couldn’t find the order. She said she’d put in a request for full refund. Now it’s 1/10/25 and it appears that Jane did nothing.
I called again and spoke with Carlos on 1/10/25. After providing the order and return numbers, he also could not locate the order and gave me a similar response to what Jane told me on 1/4. After an hour on the phone (mostly on hold with a bad song on repeat…play the same song), Carlos’ final outcome was to request full refund that will be credited to my credit card in 7-10 business days (up to 2 weeks from now).
UNACCEPTABLE! Macy’s has had my money for over 5 weeks and the returned merchandise for over 2 weeks.
After his supervisor reviewed the order/refund status, the best Macy’s could offer was a $25 credit for the inconvenience of the refund delay. I negotiated that amount up to a $100. That was supposed to be emailed to me but I haven’t received it yet.
Not the outcome a customer should receive. A full refund expedited and processed during this call would have been optimal…first call resolution.
This is not how a customer should be treated. Refunds should be timely after receipt of returned merchandise. I don’t have these issues when I shop with Amazon.
As a customer, I am dissatisfied. I should avoid macys.com for future purchases and shop at Amazon instead.
Horrendous
I filed a complaint with the BBB due to the fact MACYS decided to give me a credit when I made a return instead of giving my monies back. Customer service especially rude and horrendous. Caution when shopping on line with them, had to ask for a Supervisor repeatedly. They treat you like you are nothing and I hold a credit card with them. They don’t won’t to give you a refund The worst
Credit card info compromised
When I completed my online order on their app instead of receiving a notice thst my order was complete I got a screen that said I was entitled to a further $15 discount. It asked which credit card it should go to and gave a drop down menu with the cards I have on file with Macy's. I did not enter any credit card information. Then it said I was entitled to free shopping fir life. Then it started asking for the number of my latest order. Smelling a rat, I exited the site. Almost immediately I had a call from my bank that my card had been compromised. A company called Free Shipping for Life (or something like that) had charged $1.00 to my card. The bank caught it and put a stop on my card and will issue a new one. The bad part is that when I tried to report to Macy's that they're security was breached they kept shifting me from department to department and eventually hung up on me. So either they are complicit in the scam or they don't care.

Scammer!!! this is my order number I cannot track anymore. they left me with nothing like no products to be recieved yet paid in full, also left me with no explanations at all.

Ordered a set of plates and a duvet cover, which were sent in 2 different shipments. Got the plates with no issue. A few days later, I received an email indicating that the other item had been delivered. I looked outside to confirm that it had not been. I went online and clicked the link to report a problem with the delivery. I was hooked to some ridiculous automated chat bot. I listed what was wrong with my order (not delivered), but the bot kept asking what my problem was. It then informed me to walk around the neighborhood and look in other locations in case the item was delivered to the wrong address. I ultimately hung up and called the 24 hour phone number listed on the email. Unfortunately, for Macys, the 24 hours ends at 10pm eastern time. Back to the foolish bot, was able to get out that I wanted the item. reshipped, and was assured it would be, as well as getting a response from a real person in upcoming days. Immediately after terminating the chat, I received an email from Macys telling me that my purchase was being refunded. When I went online to purchase it again, I noticed that the price had increased (I'd bought it on their Black Friday sale). To date- 28 days after the non delivery- I've yet to hear from Macys.

I came in yesterday 12/29/24 Saturday. Just browsing than Sabrina introduced herself, i had some questions about the product. I used to use some way back then. I wasn't planning on buying anything,but she explained to me from a way i could understand skin care. Just took her time and made me understand about my skin and how important it is to take care of my skin. And how Lamcome is great!!! She made me understand from beginning to end. So I purchased. A skin care line from her . I trust her with the knowledge she gave me . Thank You Sabrina!!! I will be looking forward to seeing u again.

I was in the dressing room and someone left one of the ink tags on the ground facing up with a really sharple needle sticking out of it. There was a worker in the dressing room checking on stalls every few minutes, but they didn't even see this. I saw them go into the room I was in right before I did, yet the sharp tag was still there. I ended up stepping on it and the sole of my foot was in severe pain for hours. Thanks a lot, Macys!

Wanted to exchange for different size, but online said we can only return and reorder.
I reordered the proper size but the price was greater than the first purchase.

I ordered 4 Christmas gifts on December 2nd. One item was delivered on December 18th and the other 3 still have not come. I received an email saying it was in transit over 3 weeks ago. I reached out to Macy's customer service 3 times and got NO RESPONSE! I finally tried their live chat and explained the situation.... they never apologized or explained the delay and said I could not cancel my order.I'm done with them and am filing a complaint with PayPal and requesting they cancel the transaction and refund my money. They could care less and were absolutely rude!! Never again, Macy's is dead.
The online ordering system told me my situation needed review but didn’t
The online ordering system told me my missing item situation had to be reviewed at the next level and we would get an email with the resolution in 24 to 48 hours. The problem is we have a Ring video of the door dash person walking away with the package so we know it was stolen. Today I told they will issue a refund now in 24 to 48 hours. So much for good service. Right now I have had better customer service from, of all places, WalMart.

I ordered three Jackets for my sons on December 14th. I was told they would be here by Christmas. I called three days ago and was again assured they would be here by Christmas. I was also told I would be called if they were not going to arrive. Today I called and, although angry, they hung up on me. I called back and requested a refund because they said my items would not arrive until January 2nd, after Christmas. They refused the refund and said it was because they were in transit. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have been a loyal customer for 3o years. I'm done. What a disappointment.
