For the most part, Mashable simply produces self-serving ads presented deceptively, as legitimate articles, which in many cases, turnout be problematic, scandalous infomercials for many consumers.

Under Ziff Davis, Mashable has become downright deceptive, no longer serving as a legitimate news organization; a great way to destroy a once thriving media model.

Abusing AppleNews readers, as well as others, by posing as a Trojan Horse, I too have unfollowed. Other’s have done so similarly, whom, by the way, rarely report their own misgivings, so seriously consider Mashables darker side; unresponsive customer support, erroneous charges, charged for free shipping, discount not applied, items which never arrive, items aren’t as described, presented as refurbished, but
don’t function upon arrival, no warranty, no means for return / refund…

Rid yourself of such carpetbaggery and simply unfollow (thumbing down will not stop their infomercials from reappearing on AppleNews, you must “unfollow” via the sidebar list).

I ordered an inexpensive drone. 6 weeks later, no drone has come. Turns out to be a very expensive drone when you get nothing.

Scam company and whatever you do don't click on this site or purchase anything or give card information. You will get charged hundreds for nothing. Plus they stay free shipping and you will get charged close to $50 for that as well. They do not refund money even if you cancel order within 5 minutes of order that you accidentally put through. At best they will give you store credit which you will never ever want to do, especially with them.

Ooof, I would NEVER buy anything from here again. My opinion is they do not vet their products and then when you alert them to the issue they attempt to say it is a technically issue for the manufacturer to handle. I bought a product that quickly realized, in my opinion, was a terrible product, SalesKingPin Copywriting Tool, but the primary reason I bought it, was to rewrite copy in “a click.” My opinion is this functionality plainly doesn’t exist in the platform. I noticed StackSocial within about an hour of my purchase. Keep in mind your invoice will say “Feel free to contact our friendly Customer Support Team.” Except I did NOT find them friendly or helpful, but immediately dismissive. Anyway, after several back and forth, emails they didn’t seem to care to stand by their customer but instead said it was a technical issue. So 1. I would recommend no ever purchase from Mashable/Stack Social. 2. I contested the credit card charge this morning. 3. I would have preferred IMO that that would have done the honorable thing in this situation, of taking the time to understand the customer concern, acknowledge the situation isn’t right, and take prompt corrective action to resolve. They did not. Also, beware that you are getting a Mashable offer, processed via StackSocial, for a third party product, it seems like a business model designed around plausible deniability in my opinion.

I bought a headset that clearly is not working. They want me to set up a zoom call with them to fix it. I told them no, I don't have the time or interest to do it (I would rather write this review warnign others). I bought a new one on amazon(which takes returns without a problem) and will throw out the broken one.(Not worth the time to complain to AMEX)

The fact that they can not handle a simple return makes it not worth dealing with them.

Mac Microsoft Office would not load because the licenses had been used. We purchased 2 license packages (4 licenses) and tried to load each license on separate computers. None would work. I contacted mashable asking them for my money back. I provided proof that the licenses had been used. They wanted more information that I couldn’t provide since the licenses were no good. It was explained to me it was needed “for their records”. After approximately 26 days (and having to reopen the case since the problem wasn’t resolved; I went to my credit card companies and they resolved the matter in my favor.

I bought a lifetime subscription for storage for thunderdrive through them and it's a complete scam

I saw an offer on 11/11 to buy a $100 gift card via Restaurant.com for only $11.11 cents. When I received a redemption code I read the fine print. The gift card could only be used at certain well known restaurants to discount meals. Morale of the story. Offers that look too good are in fact bogus. I complained for several days demanding they issue a full refund to my credit card company. In fact I called my credit card company that same day and told them what happened. They said try and work it out first and then call them back. Mashable does not offer customer service phone support. Another good indication they are a scam company. I will now call my credit card company back today and hope they will issue me a credit. Also I forgot to add this.Mashable says all offers are final!

Update as of 11-18-Mashable finally relented and gave me a credit for the full amount and tax on my credit card.

I wish I had read TrustPilot before dealing with Mashable Shop. It is indeed a scam site. I bought a so called voucher for SpeechNow, it didn’t work.

I can’t even get an email to send to their support at address.

Bought a supposedly "Apple MagSafe Charger" from Mashable, and it's a fake. I was able to confirm this as I am not able to verify the firmware update number on the charger. Very disappointed and won't buy from them again.

They stole my money. Purchased a Microsoft license, but the payment was "declined"- but I was still charged for it. So I have no order number or confirmation, and certainly no Microsoft license. Just money taken from my account. I'm seeing this has happened to other people too. This site is garbage.

Bad reviews for a reason! They will sneak something into your cart that initially doesn’t cost anything so you may not even notice it, but then you’ll get charged for something later after for a “free” trial they signed you up for! If you risk doing business with them (which I recommend not doing), watch for the extras they’ve automatically signed you up for.

New Update - Mashable claims that they have issued a full refund but it has NEVER appeared. Capital One said that they have never responded to the dispute. Now I have received a new email from Mashable that it will be only a PARTIAL refund and I must PAY to return their defective merchandise. I have already been credited for the FULL amount by Capital One. If Mashable refuses to respond, that becomes permanent. Avoid these lying scammers.
Update - after filing a dispute with Capital One about this purchase, Mashable has repeatedly tried to strong arm to cancel the dispute. stating that I will never get my money back unless I do. They have not responded to Capital One's requests concerning the dispute. Mashable claims they will give a refund but refuse to be specific as to dollar and cents (they previously stated a smaller amount than charged).
I ordered a smartwatch and the additional one year warranty. It arrived as a complete DUD. It will not charge, it will not power on. There is no customer service help enclosed with the watch or on the box. It does tell you to download the app also produced by the manufacturer. THAT'S WHERE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE. So many people with my exact problem - a DUD. Mashable's response? Follow the enclosed directions for return (THEY DON'T WORK) and I must pay return shipping. Returning shipping for a dud that won't turn on? This is a scam perpetuated by Mashable. I have filed a scam complaint with Capital One.

They advertised a charger that was nothing like what was sent. The pictures are nothing like actual product delivered. Total scam.

I purchased a 2012 refurbished Macbook Air in June July 2022 and the only issue I had was the place to enter a code for a price reduction for my purchase was no where to be found. I contacted the company via email and they reduced my final amount down by 20% which a was really great surprise considering the negative write ups I have read here. From me 2 thumbs up to them. Must add that the Macbook is what I expected in perfect condition.

Update on Mashable review posted 4 April 2022. After multiple attempts to obtain the software product as advertised on Apple News, I finally received the correct product download after three weeks of hassle. I'm updating my previous review since they finally delivered the correct product, but having to go through such a frustrating process should not have been necessary!

A Chinese Bait and Switch Scam! I ordered from Mashable what I was told would be a lifetime license for a PDF Converter Pro program for $30.00. When I followed the download instructions I was sent a free nonfunctional trial version. When I contacted customer support they just sent me the same link to the free trial version. In order to upgrade to the fully functional version would have to pay another $40.00. This company doesn't even rate 1 star, but I had to click on 1 star to input my comments!

my mom ordered an echo show 8 for me for Christmas. A echo show 5 showed up at my door. She was charged 140 for the wrong thing. No return address or label. When she finally contacted them, they apologized and said they sent a label NO LABEL!! Taking advantage of elderly is a crime. funny that her card was compromised shortly after this.
