My children bought me a watch for my 70 th birthday and it didn't last 2 years.I was told it had rusted and needed $350 repair?It had never been submerged or showered.

Thank you for your review on our product.
As explained to you, I understand that you have not submerged the watch in water, however I am going off what the watchmaker had found. He had found rust starting to form on the hands.
As you had said, "there may have been some water from hosing"; a hose is a pressured water source and if sprayed directly on the watch, can be and usually is over 5ATM of pressure. With this in mind, we had noted that there is no visible water damage on the movement at the moment, however we are concerned that there is water damage (that we can not see) and it may cause problems in the future.
With the initial quote of $340 we offered, instead of repairing the watch, we would replace it as that way we could then know that there is no further damage that we could not see.
When this quote was rejected, you agreed to replace the hands at no cost to you and that work was completed on 10th March 2023.
100% perfect company
I decided to take my late grandfathers watch in to be repaired.
They worked on the delicate watch and ensured it was not further damaged.

very badly made,
very badly made,
first in few days surface got fog inside after replacement or repair done by company, bad lock came off which they didn't accept to fix all in less than 3 month.
waste of money, dont buy this low quality product.
thanks for your reply but knowing that all these problems happened in first few months, makes it very clear how good is the quality. any excuses given i dont think can help it..

Hi Yaser,
I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with your Chelsea timepiece.
The first watch that you has sent to us with issues of moisture under the glass was due to the crown not being closed/screwed in properly. However we took your word that the crown was always 100% screwed in and we made the decision to replace the watch for you. We did not repair the existing timepiece you sent back as we believed it was a better choice to send a brand new watch.
The second issue with the clasp was explained to you that it was due to the use of the watch. In saying that we offered to send you out a new bracelet at our expense to fix the issue. It was not accepted as a solution by you.
The option for the replacement bracelet to be sent to you is still available and if you would like to take us up on that offer, please send us an email and we can send it out to you.

Timeless model, impeccable service
One year ago I bought the Melbourne Portsea on a whim. Since that time it has proven itself to be a classy piece, timeless in design and impeccable in quality. Whilst it is not cheap, you get what you pay for, and it is still value for money
