I arrived to Malta to do my internship for my university and i chose to use Melita for calls and internet. Firstly, i want to mention that the payment system does not make any sense: first month you pay 20.99 euro, then second month 10.64, then 16.99. The interface to check your bills is impossible to understand and is uncomfortable to use. Second of all, the representatives of the company, cannot explain if the bill is paid or not: I came first time to the shop in Gozo, to check if my bills are paid, where i was told that they were, but i did not have any transactions from my card. I came second time to them, where they again told that everything is paid, but i was insisting to check better. At the end they found out that i was right, and had to pay. On 30.08.25 I came to terminate my account, as I am permanently leaving the country, and i made sure i paid everything and asked representative if i everything is closed and she said yes. I have never seen in any SIM provider such process to close your account: you need to PROVE that you either leaving the country by sending them PLANE TICKETS or some other prove. I AM A CUSTOMER AND I WANT TO CLOSE ACCOUNT WHENEVER I WANT, WHY SHOULD I PROVE SOMETHING TO YOU? I provided them my flight tickets, but when i was long time out of the country i again receive the bill, and being told by online representative that the company didn't like my tickets. Sorry to say, this is absolutely disgusting SIM provider, which i absolutely do not recommend.

I cancelled a service with Melita on 7th August, and received written confirmation of the cancellation via chat. Despite this, I was still charged €25 for a service they later claimed was necessary to move my internet — even though it worked fine beforehand.
On 16th October, I received a call where I was falsely told that installation work was done outside my apartment to justify the charge. No such work was done. I found this misleading and unacceptable, and as a result, I terminated my subscription entirely.
I’m now pursuing a complaint with the MCA and MCCAA. Be cautious and document everything if you’re with Melita.

Internet in Sliema was down for hours (and not for the first time) - it came back briefly (maybe 15 minutes) and is now out again. Customer service is a poor chatbot of no use whatsoever.

Anyone that has had the misfortune of interacting with Melita Customer Service, knows that any 5 star reviews of them on here are disingenuous to say the least.
Their service levels and resolution skills are less than you would expect in the third world.
Anyone that reads this, keep a look out for sneaky charges on your bill - this one was for an awful Technician I was sent out to me because of wifi speed issues other the course of weeks. He called me an hour before my appointment and asked if he could come now as something had come up, then when he came, he literally did nothing to investigate, let alone fix the issue, just kept telling me the problem must be from my end (it wasn't and I had done nothing to my set up, the speed had dropped dramatically for over a week).
He wouldnt listen to any of my points, was clearly in a rush and then left. Melita then go and charge me €25 for this waste of my time, leaving me to investigate/adjust wires, pods etc (which he clearly should have done as it's HIS JOB) and eventually fix the issues myself.
I have spent almost a week, 3 times going on their chat, requesting a manager to call me regarding this charge and I am still waiting, being told today that this time my request had been marked urgent, even though I was told exactly the same thing 3 days ago.
It's embarrassing but something everyone comes to expect from this company.
**And now they tell me to send another message through FB, even though I've been on their website's own live chat 3 times this week AND still no phone call, but they have time to message on here so it looks like they are tending people's complaints when they're not. Jokers.

Called Melita as internet is more off than on and ending up with a frozen picture, the answer from customer care was disgusting as I already called last week with same issue, yes we know about it and it's from outside!!!! Yes ok when are you fixing the problem I asked because this has been going on for weeks now. We don't know was the answer. But you are getting paid I said you are not giving me discount for not providing me with the service.Then we'll see maybe you get some refund next month depends on how long the issue lasts. Seriously?!?

Today they sent a technician without asking us if we were even home, so they could see what was the problem to offer this so called “compensation”, later on one of their employees calls us accusing us of lying and just doing this to get a discount he said “you turned your router on and off 15 times”, which is very untrue.
I am horribly disgusted.

Literally the worst Internet provider I have ever came across. They tie you to a two year contract with €150 termination fee. If you ever upgrade your service, you cannot downgrade if you want to do so you need to sign another two-year contract which is just ridiculous. My Internet has been really slow despite having 2 eero pods. They told me that my modem needs upgrading and I forgot to tell me so I would be paying for the service that is slow the higher price if I didn’t reach out to them and ask what is the issue with my Internet. Literally worst Internet provider ever I do not recommend all the customer service is absolutely ridiculous.

If I could give less than 1 star I would.
What should have been a simple process of giving notice to terminate my services has been a nightmare due to repeated mistakes from Melita, and zero effort on their part to fix it.
Due to a billing issue on their side (which they agreed was their error), I have been unable to port my numbers to my new provider, as Melita say they cannot fix the billing amount until the following month, and refuse to approve a porting request until the bill issue is resolved.
Support has just said there is nothing they can do, promises to escalate the issue are never responded to, and complaints raised have so far been ignored.
Constant wrong information is given in chats with their support (contradicting even themselves in a single chat), so nothing can be trusted, and I am now going to have to go weeks without my phone numbers as the termination date with Melita has been reached.
