As with many of the reviews I have read on BBB as well as this site, I agree that you will want to select another company. As with the others, I just experienced the issue of them accepting my deposit and then NEVER moving forward with the installation. I signed a contract on 12/31/2025, it is now 6/25/26. I never received the information that I repeatedly requested to obtain a building permit and I had to take initiative to follow up on the status. As of 6/24/26 I was told that too much time had passed and they could no longer honor the price because the cost of concrete increased. I was offered a refund for the concrete deposit however they are refusing to provide a refund for the building deposit. This was supposed to be a turnkey product, and they want to penalize me for their lack of support and inability to complete the job. I would NOT recommend this company. They take your money, then stop communicating, and make up reasons why they cannot refund all of your money. I did my part and their part. If anything I should receive a pay check for doing their job.

Metal America talks like a builder, but operates like a middleman with a toxic sales culture.

They interviewed me for marketing, claimed they used my ideas, then put me in sales with the stated expectation that it could lead to sales enablement and leadership. That never happened.

The company does not appear to build the buildings itself. It relies on outside manufacturers, contractors, and partners, then uses language like “our steel guys” to make it sound internal. Customers may think they are buying from the source, when they may really be paying a markup to a sales organization sitting between them and the actual provider.

Internally, the environment was unprofessional and toxic. A manager belittled people, cursed at them, started sexually inappropriate conversations, and used his position to intimidate people and feed his ego. Allowing someone like that to manage is disgusting negligence.

Metal America is not the future of construction. It is a chaotic middleman operation with vague promises, inflated language, weak accountability, and leadership that sweeps problems under the rug instead of fixing them.

The sales rep came out and measured and marked the dimensions of our build. He answered our questions, showed us the colors to match our house.
Very pleased with the process to get my husbands shop, we really needed. We saved a lot of money compared to another quote we got.

Buyer beware! They are super helpful and responsive, UNTIL you pay the $13,000 deposit. Then, good luck getting anyone to give you a firm install date. We've been waiting for months and still do not have a date. It's always, "We'll call you back" and never do they call back. 10/10 do NOT recommend buying from this company!

5 stars currently as far as working with Jairus! I will come back and update once my building gets delivered and installed!

Metal America is very professional in all aspects, Connor Bergren is the best I have ever met!

I have had a challenging time working with this company. They require a deposit first, before they make a site visit, to see if the slope of land will work for the concrete of the building.

I am going on the local broker (Hunt Portable Buildings) reputation and their positive reviews to proceed with our building and will happily give a five-star review if all goes well.

Note: Also, lots of 1 review people leaving the positive reviews here at Trust Pilot and one of the reviewers admits that he is an employee of the company. This is not reassuring.

Logan was fantastic! He worked with is on our build to ensure we receive the absolute best product. He was very responsive to changes and worked hard to earn our business we will definitely recommend Metal America to our family and friends.

Working with Julie was an absolute peaseure. She helped come up with a design far etter than I could have imagined. I made everal changes throughout the proess and she patiently went through al of them, making suggestions and giving afdvie. I see why Mettal America is so highly rated, they truly do care about you investment

We recently had our new steel barn installed and couldn’t be happier with the entire experience. The crew was professional, hardworking, and paid attention to every detail from start to finish. The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and the building turned out even better than we expected.

The project was completed on time, the job site was kept clean, and communication throughout the process was great. You can tell they take pride in their work and care about customer satisfaction.

If you’re looking for a reliable company for a steel barn or metal building, I would highly recommend them. Great people, great service, and a solid finished product.
