Having use Mettle for over 4 years without major issues, today I have hit a brick wall.

After opening a restaurant last month, we have gone from having 1 staff to 25 staff in few weeks and had over 300k revenue in a month. Today was payday and I sent over £50k of bank transfers out to my employees.

The account was suddenly suspended without warning with over six figures on the balance.

I tried using the help chat box and had no reply after 6 hours, the only person I could contact via phone isn't able to transfer my call to the account maintenance team.

So we are stuck without the ability use the bank account, seemingly because we are successful?

I don't mind the cautious account lock to protect my property against frauds, but this is just incompetence on Mettle part, 6 hours without an explaination or solution is not good enough for a growing small business like us.

We will be switching bank if the problem is not resolved by the end of the day.

Easy to use.

I am a long time user but f Quick Books and have just transferred to Mettle. I am an IT professional. I am mega impressed with this product due to its ease of use. Doing my annual accounts was a breeze. I am recommending it to all my friends and clients. Well done.

Great customer service and amazing baking account . I have been scammed by fraudulent and taken money from my account , the team was so proactive and dealt with the issue immediately and with the utmost professionalism.

Amazing service

Mettle is the answer I was looking for, simple and effective bank. Free of charge and the invoice feature makes tracking and sending very easy!

Apparently I'm not worthy of joining the cult despite having a registered Company with Companies House, pay my taxes, being a resident, being a loyal Customer of Natwest...Nothing is enough for the robot or the Gate Keeper who selects who enters the club and who doesn't...based on God knows what criteria (secret...shhh).

Love the built in invoicing

It is making my experience as a sole trader significantly more straight forward, and much less anxiety-inducing!

Easy to use love it.

Recently joined and so far it's really good.
I was using another company for banking and accounts and paying quite a lot monthly.
As a sole trader this account plus the software you can use for free is absolutely amazing and makes doing accounts actually not that bad.
When I expand or do more later this year towards Xmas, would be more than happy to upgrade.
So user friendly and really I'm just someone who appreciates keeping things straightforward and there's also plenty of help if needed.
Don't hesitate if your a business owner this is all you need.

At the beginning it appeared that my Mettle account was easy to navigate and efficient, but I've encountered some major drawbacks along the way -

- Free Agent isn't correctly syncing with my Mettle account, meaning it appears that invoices are overdue when in fact they've been paid.

- I have a lot of business expenses and I’m often finding the supplier won’t take online payments with my Mettle debit card.

- My Vanguard SIPP won't accept funds fro my Mettle account to my pension - again this is a nightmare for someone who is self employed.

- A fraction of my clients are abroad and aren’t able to pay in to my Mettle account as I’m not provided with an IBAN or Swift code.

I’m finding these drawbacks extremely frustrating - it’s not letting me run my business effiiciently and is a nightmare from an accounts perspective!

Good bank account needs to talk to free agent a bit better tho

Really enjoy using the Mettle app. And very pleased that my suggestion to add ‘Stationary’ to the categories has been implemented. I also think there needs to be a catagory for ‘wages’ as I pay myself from this account into my personal account

Outstanding customer service from Mettle.

After receiving a new iPhone, I found myself locked out of my Mettle account. I spent several days trying to regain access on my own and exchanged a number of emails and live chats with the support team. We arranged over emails to receive a personal phone call from one of their representatives. No account information was given out or asked for. Just security questions that only I would know the answers to.

The adviser patiently talked me through the process of how to get back into the app and although it was quite complex, we worked through it together. Within just a few minutes I was back into the app and everything was up and running again.

Excellent customer service, great communication, and a real willingness to help. Five-star service from start to finish. Thank you, Mettle!

These guys at mettle are absolutely fantastic, I got scammed by a caller & I couldn’t sleep or eat with worry… mettle managed to reimburse the full amount & kept me up to date with it all!! Truly the best thank you

Basic bank account fine, but don't expect customer support and if someone auto-enrolls you without your consent expect an inquisition and to be made to feel like the person in the wrong. Seriously they prefer American Fraudster Giants over their own customers.
