Minirig 3 with subwoofer. Best there is for sound at high and low volumes. Just one more minirig 3 soon and it's perfect. Won't find anything better!

Love my minirig 3. Every time I use it with friends they all ask where I got it! The sound is so rich, perfect for BBQ or Peletons!

This is a great little independent company, and I wish I could be more positive.

My impression is that they've worked hard on the sound, but that the engineering of the charging system and Bluetooth lets it down.

Virtually every portable consumer device should be using a USB-C connector for charging now, not a barrel connector.

Ideally USB PD (Power Delivery), or just BC (Battery Charging), or USB 3.0 - they all offer faster charging and more convenient charging.

Likewise the Bluetooth didn't seem to get on well with either my phone (Android 10), or my laptop (Thinkpad X1, Ubuntu 20.04). I could get them to work, but I had to fiddle every time to get them to work.

Frankly, the Minirig 3 electronics need updating to something a bit more sophisticated (probably a better Bluetooth chip) and a bit more up to date (a newer battery manager chip) - then they would have a great product.

Build quality "like a tank".
Sound "bold" (not exactly my taste, but AIUI you can tweak it through the phone app - I didn't try this).

An amazing driver, coupled with some terrible electronics.
The bluetooth DOES NOT WORK. Tried it on severall devices with results ranging from no connection at all to skipping, jumping mess.
Contactes customer service who said that this is a known issue, and suggested factory reset of each speaker every time you want to use them! (Even this does not fix the problems)
So, the ONLY way to use this produxt it with all the cables connecting them up. BUT, this only work if you unplug them each time and then reconnect in a specific order EVERY TIME!
To top things off, their claim of 80 hours battery life is completely ficticious. On testing they only achieved between 9 and 15 hours on low gain mode from fully charged. This was with them plugged in to a tv, NOT playing loud bass rich music.
Also, whilst it kay be possible to use them as a power bank, there is no usb jack on the devices! This means that you would need to take the long usb charging lead everywhere (along with all 3 3.5mm audio leads required to make them play anything)
As a result of all the above I requested to return them, but they are even avoiding this!
All in all, a terroble product which could have been so good....

I have used a minirig for a year. Excellent sound. I bought a new PC which I connected Minirig too and iot worked for one day. Now I am unable to get the minirig to connect. Worse still, I am unable to remove minirig from the bluetooth devices. minirig has enbedded itself into my system.

Be VERY careful with this device, the bluetooth software is VERY VERY iffy. I feel like putting a hammer through the device because of the problems it has caused to my new PC.

Bought the 3 for my partner's birthday as he wanted a speaker with a jack, Minirig was recommended by a couple of friends and so far so good, has great sound and does the job!

What can you say more about this speaker that hasn’t been said. The sound is crisp, the bass is amazing and the portability is just otherworldly. The fact you can take such a small system and throw a party anywhere is simply amazing! The app and connectivity is something that can be improved upon!

My experience is with two minirigs and a subwoofer after 4 months of use.
In short:
The only positives are good battery life very good sound quality for the size. Everything else is a nightmare. Bluetooth connection is most unreliable I have ever experienced. Any time you want to enjoy good music in stereo mode with subwoofer you need 20 minutes to get it paired and set it up. Even after you get it working you cannot place the minirigs more than 1 meter apart otherwise on one of them the sound will start dropping out. I have tried everything: resets, software updates and every trick in the manual.
Other most common problem is that subwoofer volume does not adjust with the app and is very quiet. It only starts working after restarting the system about 2 times.
Despite what the ads say you cannot have it connected to multiple devices simultaneously. It will connect however it will not play music. Getting a couple more software engineers to sort out the software should not be that difficult.
And lastly the charging port. you always must carry around that extra cable. It is not 90's anymore. Please use USB Type-C.

Speakers are good for D&Bass type edm: enough punch for the drums, and the low end taken care be the subwoofer. (DJ type: Spontane street party's)
The sub i also use in studio, combined with Yamaha hs8 set.

incredible company that produce a world class speaker at a great price, but not only this the after sales customer service team are the best I've ever experienced at resolving problems and keeping customers happy.

Amazing quality sound for the size and price. So easy to use. I bought two more and it took me no time to connect them to each other.

I bought a minirig 3 after hearing one that a friend has because they sound so good better than anything I've heard before. They are designed and made in Bristol UK these are solid all metal and beyond amazing. The bass from these is mind blowing it put my jbl to shame and had to have one. The customer service is second to none. If you are looking for a Bluetooth speaker buy one of these you 100% won't regret it.

My 8-yr old Minirig 1 is still going strong but decided to upgrade to 2 x minirig 3 and the sub. It was the right decision…the sound is detailed but huge, the battery life incredible, excellent build quality and synching the speakers is easy. Over the years I’ve tried portables from Bang & Olufsen, Denon and countless others but Minirig really is the best of them.

Great sound if you just buy one speaker but if you buy two, pairing them is a nightmare. MINIRIG give constant advice about having to reboot/reinstall software - which invariably works for a short while. I’m now waiting to hear I can get them repaired - had mine less than a year, and twice I’ve asked for a refund for faulty products but they side step that question. So my advice is to avoid.

Really pleased with my Minirig 3, so much so I'm already planning on buying a second one! Great sound, great product, great customer service and great look too! Cannot find a negative, so highly recommend.

We have had great sounds from our mini-rig but have hit a problem. The minirig is no longer charging. We have followed all the advice on their site including buying a new charging cable but still it is not charging. The problem we have had is that it is almost impossible to contact them. No phone number or obvious email address. We have tried to leave a message but the system won't submit the form without the order number for a product I bought 9 months ago

The minirig 3 is an excellent speaker I use mine on my boat and home. On the boat it's heavy enough not to move around when the boat does. In the home it doesn't look out of place not too big. It looks great and the sound is amazing. Easy to connect, battery life great, comes with a case. Can't fault this speaker, very impressed. Also a British company would highly recommend.

My mini rig stopped working, ( I’ve had it 6 years) I messaged mini rig, no interrogation by mini rig, they sent me a new cable free of charge! Can’t fault their customer service and couldn’t be without my mini rig 🙂

I bought 2 speakers and a subwoofer. The sound is loud with great base and treble. I have connected mine to an Astell & Kern SR25 portable audio player and a Chord Mojo portable headphone amplifier combination setup, which both play in Hi Res audio. I've found that Minirig speakers have the capability to reproduce crisp, clean and detailed sound with punchy base, high treble and clear vocals. Minirig speakers can sufficiently be regarded as audiophile grade that real music lovers will appreciate. I would definitely recommend Minirig products, especially due to their excellent build quality and well thought out design in terms of their operation. I have already ordered two more minirig mini ll speakers and another subwoofer to add to my already excellent sounding system in order to enhance it even further. Please, bare in mind that I have mine setup in wired mode to avoid any disruptive latency issues with the sound reproduction, however, this is not to say that the bluetooth isn't any good, I've simply not tried it yet but have every confidence that it will work great due to the love and attention to detail that Minirig has put into their products. The customer service was of very high standard too with friendly and helpful staff members. In fact, it was a breath of fresh air to finally find a company that excels in producing excellent products that deliver the best and back them up with great customer service. A big well done to Minirig, I am really impressed and find it a joy to give you a full 5 STAR RATING! Bill Singh.
