The Moorings: UK Reviews 

The cruising area (Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines) was great. The boat was very satisfactory and in very good condition. The weather was as ordered - steady easterly trade wind, hot, sunshine and showers.

The best of The Moorings is the prompt customer service. Although we had a rough two first days with the generator not working, The Moorings brought us a replacement vessel to our location.

Very poor experience on 50 ft moorings Cat. Generator, air conditioning and water all broke down on a 1 to 3 year old boat, so had to get replacement boat, but then realised Technical support not customer service did not give honest information. Wasted timing due late I'd honest and true information.

Our 6th visit to BVI and once again didn’t disappoint. Yacht in great condition, staff at Tortola very friendly and helpful as usual. To top it all weather was good apart from just one day. Seamless service all round. Only slight gripe is there’s no loyalty recognition or reward for using the moorings 7 times in total now including charter in Greece .. you can earn rewards with the likes of BA and other companies

This area of Sardinia is gorgeous but our vessel was in poor shape. One toilet broke, the diesel fuel fumes infiltrated a cabin, the coolant leaked, someone else’s fish was still in the freezer, the seat cushions had mold on them, the window blinds didn’t work. I could go on and on. Also, we didn’t get out of Cannigione until 4p Saturday and were told to be back before 5p on Friday, so it was only a 5 full-day trip. For what we paid, this was a bad deal.

The boat was dangerous. We raised the mainsail after leaving the marina and noticed one of the top battens was exposed. On dropping the mainsail, the batten was ejected from the sail and fell from height narrowly missing my four year old daughter's head by inches, before it bounced up and overboard. Contacted technical support who said, keep on sailing, and seemed unimpressed we didn't go and retrieve the batten. This was the first morning of our charter.
Other little things, like BBQ and cooler missing before we left, and when we got them, the BBQ was just being dumped in the cockpit and not attached to the bracket, so it rolled around all charter.
The aft cabin shower drain didn't work, so we were bailing water out by hand on the first and only occasion we used it.
You travel very far to get to BVI and spend a lot of money, and it's disappointing when things aren't right, but it's shocking when things are woefully dangerous.

Despite this, the staff at the Base were lovely and welcoming (Haniff, Ali, Josè particularly), obviously you can't not appreciate the beauty of the BVI's - but we were placed in a dangerous situation within 15 minutes of leaving, and I'm just thankful my daughter is unharmed.

We did contact the technical manager for thl marine, who copied in the bvi base manager and local technical manager to an email mid charter about the issues we had and said we'd receive a response. Our charter ended a week ago, I haven't, and sadly don't expect to hear anything from them or receive an apology, but I suspect if you've been going as long as The Moorings and are as successful, issues like a child nearly being impaled by a falling batten doesn't need to concern you

Staff were helpful and friendly. The boat was in pristine condition.

Great boat, great environment, great deckhands, mediocre debrief at the end. Person wasn’t very interested in equipment problems we had.

Generator failed on first evening startup. Quick response from service group to replace the water pump impeller.

Reefing lines were misrouted creating too much resistance to easily raise or lower the mainsail. Required someone at the mast to reduce the tension on lines that should have been handled from the cockpit. Obvious problem, easily solved but missed by Moorings crew.

Our boat was clean, the heads smelled clean, and it ran well. The staff was great. The boat performed well. We had one issue with the main sail and the tech support team came out and fixed it quickly.

We chartered with The Moorings in the Seychelles. The yacht was very well prepared and in spotless condition. The check in and briefings were quick and efficient. We booked a skipper through them, it was the best thing, I am wondering why we never used one before. Knowledgeable, friendly, he became part of our group very quick. All in all a first class experience!

We were very well received by a charming host who really new her business. We had a very good briefing and the boat was very well prepared.
We had useful and timely alerts and suggestions during our cruise and help at anchorages where Moorings have a presence.
On return our hostess was very thorough and helpful with debriefing, summoning taxis etc.
we had very few mechanical issues.

This Moorings trip was spectacular! It far exceeded my expectations. Mimi at the base is absolutely wonderful to work with and our skipper, Melanie, was the best any of us had ever had on any trip ever! - a true gem. She was brilliant, friendly, professional, very knowledgeable, super easy to travel with and made our vacation fantastic. Last but certainly not least, the boat was perfectly clean and in great shape! Incredible experience all around. St. Martin is magical!

The ease of booking our trip and the actual experience of receiving the boat. The staff was very helpful. Our captain was great (Ben) he was very acquainted with all the areas we wanted to sail. His experience made our trip fabulous.

This is not a review about the food but a review about the helpfulness of the people who run the cafe.l am 83 years old and had a big problem with my bicycle and l was covered in black oil off the chain. They let me go in and clean up and gave me a hot drink. They could have told me to get lost. Much appreciated.

What a great experience in the Abacos with Moorings. Boat was clean and employees were helpful, responsive, and very knowledgeable in terms of the cruising grounds. From arrival to departure, we had a wonderful experience.

Excellent service and very helpful, knowledgeable, friendly staff at The Moorings @ Agana Marina. Our boat was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. All in all, a great, fun experience. We had an amazing charter with many wonderful memories. Croatia and the islands is/are just beautiful & we were lucky with fantastic weather. Thank you to all @ The Moorings at Agana. We were two families (4 adults and 4 children 10 to 12) enjoying a 7day bareboat charter in the Saronic Gulf. The Greek island is to me sailing paradise; wind (we had F2-5 bf) sun, beautiful towns and beaches, and simple good food.
The Moorings team were fantastic from booking to the end. The boat, a Moorings 45-4, had top equipment; big B&G plotter, bow trust and AC, and we encountered no issues during the holiday.
An optional start day and a 10day option would have made this holiday even better. A week is too short, and 14 days too much, in addition the armada that leaves Athens (Moorings and other) on Saturday makes the few nearby island very crowded and it’s hard to find a mooring.

From start to finish this was the best experience for me and my companions. Every one was helpful , no surprises, catamaran was perfect , handover efficient. When we did have a little problem they answered the phone right away and solved the issue in seconds . Can't thank you enough , Procida team are 6 star !!

We had amazing Sailing ⛵️ holiday, it can’t be better, thank you so much for all the moorings team ( at the office in UK, or at the marina in Sardinia . ) I have been chartering Carmarthens from the moorings for the past 10 years and strongly recommend them

The company made it relatively easy to book the boat and the skipper for this family holiday. The boat was comfortable and the skipper took care of all the itinerary and sailing, allowing us to participate as we so choose. We had a very professional skipper who was polite and courteous.
