These people are pure monsters. They have harassed and threatened me for 3 years for a debt that has nothing to do with me. Even after requesting documentation and proof, which they never sent - it goes on and on and on. Their game plan is to threatened CC judgement, and for a relatively small alleged debt, say under £300.00, most people will realise that it will cost considerably more to contest it, so will pay up. Illegal, nasty and pre-calculated fraud, although under a shroud of legality. I have recently had a stroke and am not a well man and could do without this. I will never ever pay them a penny and will instruct my solicitors to fight it if they go to court, regardless of cost, on principal. Horrible, pathetic scamsters, with a very thin vaneer of civility.

Most insensitive and unempathetic agents - need training.
They are more concerned about their client's debt and their fees of course. When speaking to a vulnerable, sick individual, they forget humanity and ask very insensitive, insulting questions. Staff need training in dealing with human beings. I bet call callers are on commissions. Selfish greedy solicitors who need reporting!

I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Mortimer Clarke Solicitors (MC) in relation to a CCJ obtained against me by their client, Cabot Financial (Europe) Ltd. Throughout the process, I found MC's conduct to be unprofessional, unethical, and lacking in transparency.
Despite repeated requests, MC failed to provide crucial documentation, such as a valid Deed of Assignment, which would prove their client's legal right to pursue the debt. This lack of transparency raises serious questions about the legitimacy of the debt and the CCJ.
Furthermore, I discovered that the address used to serve the CCJ was deliberately changed to my old address, even though my current address was known to MC and their client. This underhanded tactic denied me the opportunity to defend myself and resulted in a judgment being entered against me without my knowledge.
When I attempted to raise these concerns with MC, I was met with aggressive, bullying, and threatening behaviour. They consistently failed to address the substantive issues and instead resorted to dismissive and evasive tactics.
It is clear that Mortimer Clarke Solicitors has little regard for the rights of individuals and is more concerned with hiding behind their client, even if it means engaging in unethical and potentially fraudulent practices.
I strongly advise anyone dealing with Mortimer Clarke Solicitors to be cautious and to thoroughly document all interactions. If you are not satisfied with their conduct or believe that they have acted unethically, do not hesitate to file a complaint with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
The SRA has the power to investigate and sanction solicitors who breach their professional obligations. In serious cases, the SRA can impose fines, suspend or even strike off solicitors from the Roll, preventing them from practicing law.
It is crucial that we hold firms like Mortimer Clarke Solicitors accountable for their actions and demand the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and transparency from those entrusted with upholding the law.
Do not be intimidated by their tactics. Stand up for your rights and take action to ensure that unethical practices are exposed and addressed.

Wish I had come here first before dealing with these jokers. 7 years ago I got a CCJ. I offered payment and filled forms as requested to stop them from taking me to court. Next thing I know I'm taken to court anyway. They claimed I had ignored their requests but yet they were contacting me on the details I ga e on the supposed 'missing' form. A payment plan got put in place for the amount decided by the court a few weeks later mortimer then cancelled my payment for no reason. I re set up at a lower amount (didn't realise it was cancelled at first). 7 years down the line I get a threatened with if I don't pay they will enforce a 7 Yr old CCJ (not even sure they can do that?) For no reason whatsoever. Just so happens they sent this at at time where my finances are a bit messed up (end of tax year and a new employer) and having some other issues to deal with, so try speaking to them on phone (end up late for work) could not have felt more patronised. Several times I said I had already spoken to citizens advice and step change and know where I am with my finances but she just kept repeating herself over and over. Kept repeating things over and over again that I had already stated I was in the middle of. Which also to be honest debt or not were none of their business. When I realised the CCJ was over 6 years I emailed them again to ask them about this. No reply not a thing. They are liars and deceitful. I am honestly surprised these cowboys are still allowed to work.

Shocking company. buys debts of other debt collectors and thinks that it gives them a right to spam me with constant emails and text messages. Then they want me to call then to check my payments are still affordable.
My account was taken to court by the last chancers and it was agreed I would pay five pound a month. And that’s what I intend to pay. The other company couldn’t force me to pay more and there is no chance you will either. If I don’t pay what I agreed then sure, hound me, but this unsolicited communication has to stop or I’ll block you and you won’t get any money from me

I tried to help an acquaintance who has severe language barriers and confidence issues call to set up a payment plan after they received a court letter to pay the debt by the 1/3/24.
The company created several barriers; we made 2 calls today
1) Call 1 GDPR barrier - the company wouldn't accept verbal authorisation from the customer to speak with them on that same call, event after the customer had passed security. The company insisted they only accept written authority for anyone other the cust speak on customer's behalf or to translate for the customer.
2) Call 2 - The customer completed security, and was ready to set up a payment plan, but agent said she couldn't do anything because she was working overflow calls, and a call back needed to be arranged for a later time. The problem is, when the company calls back there would be no one there to help this customer with the call.
After speaking to 2 different agents, 1 hour later, the customer was left frustrated and in tears, because she still didn't manage to set up the payment plan.
This is the worse firm I have ever had to deal with.
We intend to speak with the ICO and SRA and find out what they have to say about that.

Company absolutely thieves, and fraudsters. Statments balance, refreshed every month, where a normal transfer takes up to 5 business days..! They charge for nothing extra. I was decide to report this in BBC news or whoever. How can cheat people like that.

These 'Solicitors' are an internal legal team for Cabot Financial who, in turn, buy in unrecoverable debts from financial institutions at a fraction of the original amount and then seek to bully debtors into paying the full amount. They are legally required to provide the County Court with full debt details - including the original default date - to satisfy the Court that they have jurisdiction to apply for a CCJ Which they didn't do in my case. They are attempting to recover a 6 year old debt and can whistle for 'their' money.

My account was paid in full on 18th January 2024.
I was told it would be 5 days to wait then a letter would be sent to confirm closure of the account.
I have today called again as no letter received, to be told i have to wait for 2 weeks.
I have been told verbally and by letter that the funds have been received and the account is closed.
Why does it take 2 weeks to issue a letter to confirm receipt?
Totally unacceptable you are quick to issue CCJ's with your heavy handed tactics and threats.
I expect a letter by return to confirm my account is closed so I can get a letter of satisfaction from the courts

I honestly don't know how these people get away with BOMBARDING you with texts, phone calls and letters.
I had a debt which I was paying off without any problems, but suddenly the lender decided to pass my account to these absolute low lives!! I could not cope with the severe harassment so I borrowed money to pay off the debt. When I called M C solicitors they tried to make out they cared about my mental state and was asking very personal questions, apparently to make sure i had the right support in place, absolute jokers!!!! YOU ARE THE CAUSE OF MY MENTAL HEALTH DECLINE, DONT MAKE OUT YOU CARE, YOU DONT!!!!!! you are scum!!
