I had need to use Motor Lawyers due to a totting up issue recently. I will be honest, I did hesitate at first as many people said to me, you cannot argue a ban but I took advantage of the initial call and very glad I did too. Alan Jones was extremely nice, very supportive and some excellent advice. He took down all the details and my history of driving and all of my circumstances and felt I had enough to go with a case for exceptional hardship. He gave me advice on how to prepare, what documents I needed to provide, where to focus on the exceptional hardship and, he advised on case prep such as attending court. He also gave me some great advise on improving my driving and to look at taking an advanced course. All of this was excellent. Everything was done via email except the calls with Alan. Everything was dealt with on the same day and when I needed an answer it was replied to straight away. I took the decision to move forward with Motor Lawyers and I did not regret it. They arranged counsel for me and the counsel was extremely well briefed. I had time with them before the court and they put me at ease. It felt like I had a virtual hand holding whilst in court - honestly it did. About a week before I lost it a bit on the call with Alan who calmed me down and put everything in perspective. As someone who didn't even get lines at school, and a good few years on this really was probably the worst thing ever happened to me. I am so so glad I trusted my gut to go with Motor Lawyers. Just as an aside too - they gave advice on what documents to take to court which really helped me feel confident and advise on how to complete the earnings form for court fees.

The call was super informative and the clear experience and knowledge was super impressive from the lawyer (Alan Jones). He discussed my case in detail, giving me great advice on how to proceed.

I went away and decided that it would be sensible to instruct the company again and ask that Alan writes the plea of mitigation on my behalf. After instructing them to do this the plea of mitigation was returned to me within 22hours!

All I can say is... WOW! Motor Lawyers successfully flattened and dismantled a year-long campaign by the police to prosecute me for an alleged 20mph violation even though we knew there were anomalies, blatantly questionable statements and problems overall with the integrity of the ticket. I was assigned Alan Jones who deserves especial credit for his tenacity and dedication to the cause. I discovered Motor Lawyers while seeking an online answer to a motoring legal question. Often, offers of "free legal advice" can be misleading at best and damaging at worst. But in this case, in little more than an hour a detailed response was given to my question concerning a Notice of Intended Prosecution. The advice was based on their previous experience at a particular Court and generally in relation to pursuing the course I was considering. It persuaded me to abandon a particular course of action. The important point is that the advice was to concede a point rather than to employ this firm to represent me in pursuing it, so proving genuine impartial advice rather than fulfilling any self-serving interests.

I faced a “totting up” ban and was extremely stressed that I would lose my licence and ultimately my income. I shopped around as there are a number of “specialist” motoring firms and some of the quotes were eye watering!

My lawyer was very patient and supportive, with the right mix of listening, counselling, advice and "hard messages". I was provided with ongoing support and a detailed script / guidance on how best to present my case.
