Very disappointing. Not worth the risk
The brakes look good, customer service is quick. But that’s where the positives end.
Ordered some front grooved discs with black protective coating. Immediately, you get a piece of paper telling you how to bed in the brakes effectively. However an immediate red flag is when they also tell you to measure the run-out of the discs prior to installation and use. Bearing in mind, no other disc company tells you from the get-go to measure your run out, which was a first for me.
Obviously, I don’t have the means to measure this at home, let alone a normal garage doing this for you.
The mating surfaces were prepped exceptionally well before installing. I proceeded to bed the brakes in, but even after 200 miles, the brakes shook above 40mph. I took the brake discs off, cleaned them and the hubs yet again, and reinstalled them. But this was no use, brakes still shook.
I tried to get an exchange or a refund, but because the brakes were already driven on, I couldn’t return them. The blame was on me for not checking the run out apparently?
I ended up buying some Pagid discs, put them straight on and they are perfect.
If you want some better brakes, just get normal blank discs for slightly better money (ie. Pagid) and some fast road brake pads. Don’t get cheap discs as a risk. Chances are I was just unlucky, but it’s not worth the £115 which I won’t get back. Better to spend an extra £50-£100 and get something quality.

It is deemed as good practice to check runout and the Pagid discs you purchased require this too -
'' Yes, Pagid recommends checking the lateral runout of a new brake disc with a dial gauge after installation to prevent brake judder and ensure the rotor runs true against the cleaned wheel hub. ''
I checked Brembo and Mintex and they also say the same as us and Pagid.
This may void your warranty with Pagid so it may be best to check with them especially if you have an underlying issue which is causing any problems.

Avoid at all costs.
Bought a set of there discs for my 2017 Octavia Vrs. Since fitting had a horrible sound when pressing brake. Thought was the pads. Changed them 3 times just to find the noise never went. Only started since fitting there discs. Got in touch with them. Send them a sound clip of the noise as all they said was it isn't there discs and fobbing me off and made me feel like they ain't interested in customer satisfaction. Low and behold took there discs off today and replaced with others and noise has gone but they was adamant was nothing to do with there discs.
Would avoid at all costs.
Now out of pocket for a set of discs that are only fit for the bin..

The issue was that your caliper was not releasing properly which was keeping the pads pressed against the disc.
The reason you changed the pads 3 times is because you could see the pads were not retracting but thought that was their fault and not the fault of the caliper.
The only items you purchased from us were the discs and, as the discs were not at fault, we would not replace them, I'm afraid.

10+ years down the drain
Have used MTEC for over 10 years. Never had a problem, until I did and then the issues start.
Routine disc change on a new car for some more aesthetically pleasing drilled discs.
Everything within tolerance upon fitting, everything thoroughly cleaned, sliders greased etc. Run in procedure followed as usual and they warp within a couple of months.
Customer service won't speak to you, forcing me through a reseller and ultimately trying to blame the car. It's been checked and is fine.
Close to losing a customer (or few) as my future custom and recommendations are close to not coming to MTEC.

Mtec are a perfect example of how to do business in 2026, their product is second to none, seriously high quality brake discs.
Service is 10/10 I was kept up to date on the delivery via email and WhatsApp, even messaged after delivery to make sure everything was okay.
Delivery was also rapid, from ordering to delivery was 3 days!
I really cannot recommend them enough, I wouldn’t bother with EBC discs, mtec are the way to go!
