Bought Origin Windows with 20 years guarantee. Was told there is a tag in all the windows which provides a serial number which is then used to track my installation in case there are any issues in the future. None of my windows has this tag and Origin won't confirm I have Origin windows. Hopeless!

I can't recommend the Origin products enough. I bought 6 windows and a 6 pane bifold. I did lots of research when selecting which installer I wanted to use, and I can see from the quality of the fenestration that I have made the right choice. I've seen the other reviews below since, and I totally disagree where quality is concerned. You can SEE and FEEL the quality of these frames before they are even installed. On the Origin website there is a section where i could choose from 3 approved installers. Even so, I still did my own research on each individual one via google. When I contacted each, I was made fully aware of the guarantees terms. I was fully informed that the installer is fensa registered, which meant that if anything goes wrong with my products, then they would be guaranteed by the manufacturer. If anything goes wrong with the installation it is guaranteed by my installer. Even if I was unsure I'd simply go back to my installer since I have a guarantee and contract with them? This seems fairly standard practice for the industry and the other manufacturers I considered (for aluminium bifolds/windows), so im really not sure who those below chose to install for them! Be sure to go with a fensa registered installer, who has good reviews, and you will find yourself with outstanding quality products which genuinely offer the best experience of your home. Delivery was very prompt too! Best investment I ever made!

Origins Products are so high quality and beautiful. The have comepletely tranformed my Home. If you are looking for a permium aluminium door and window company i would recommend them.
i have had all my products for 7 years now and we have not had any issues at all.

I have to say I was extremely surprised when seeing some of these other reviews. We had our whole house done using Origin, including Bi-folds, windows and our front door and we genuinely couldn't be happier. Our house has literally been transformed and we have never had more compliments on our home. If you are looking for great quality product Origin worked excellently for us and we have recommended to all our friends and family.

This is a dreadful organisation and I urge people NOT TO BUY their windows / doors from them. Purchased Origin bifold doors Approx 3 years ago and have had the installer visit on 3 separate occasions to adjust due to the door panels dropping (they have now dropped again for the 4th time !!). The installer has advised it a manufacturer problem due to the weight of door and the problem will keep happening. Origin are refusing to support me saying it’s not a manufacturer problem. When purchasing they will send their 20 year “Welcome to the Family” guarantee pack and promise the world but when it comes to it they just blame the installer and have not taken any responsibility. Also a rude manager I’m dealing with (not once has she apologised for the inconvenience caused). Reading other people’s reviews it’s a common problem and quite clearly a manufacturer problem. DON’T BUY FROM THEM - A useless product.

The product was poor quality and the customer service to fix the issue was terrible. Leaks due to manufacturer errors, orange peel paint, rippled metal work. I had 3 sets of doors delivered, each with the same problem; rippled metal work where the hinges had been tightened on. Gave up in the end because I couldn’t be bothered to keep changing the doors and glass over. Not great in high winds either. Drafts coming through all over the place.

I ordered a set of sliding doors and payed good money.
They arrived on time and the installer checked that all the parts were there. On team started to assemble the sliding doors whilst another team removed the old doors.
Unfortunately the parts were the wrong ones.
It took 5 phone calls and 3 e-mails before they accepted that there was something wrong.
The parts could have been posted on the same day for next day delivery but they couldn't do that because of the computer system.
Rubbish customer service.
I was told it would take 5 days to send me the parts.
Terrible to have a home boarder up for so long but they did not care.

I’ve had a bifolding door system fitted some five years ago and immediately the would expand with heat and would not open until it cooled down then it failed to lock due to the the door dropped I got the installer back he tried several times to adjust it he said the door being a three door and max width was to heavy for the gear and that’s why it’s dropped , we have not used it since it was fitted we contacted the manufacturer that being origin on several occasions which really didn’t get us any where I would like an origin expert to come out and see this installation which is good but the product design needs a be looked at but origin aren’t interested incase they admit liability that this system should never have been made in this size in a three door system it should have been a four door system, kind regards from chris Watson at alpine Heights Penybryn Beglly SA68 0xe 07957718906

Absolutely dreadful bifold doors and a waste of money. Spent hours today getting off the masking tape we had to put on over winter to keep out draughts. Finally identified it is the hinges and handles that let in a draught. The seals are cheap and crack. The bifold doors do not conform to the energy standards as let in wind and let out heat. The worst things I have ever bought and very expensive compared to other company's. Not worth the money and I really want to emphasise that they are appalling quality. When you contact Origin they just refer you to your installer. Please do not buy as you will be disappointed.

The product is good (aluminium bifold door and windows), however, there are other problems. Firstly, Origin recommend installers who are not associated with a relevant trade organisation, so when we had problems there was no trade body to turn too to gain a unbiased resolution. This is not good when you're paying 10's of thousands of pounds for their product - Origin drop you like a hot coal and do NOT want to get involved. Secondly, having now been on the fourth remake of the same Origin door, Origin refused to engage with me as to why they were performing so poorly and again just kept passing me back to the installer, who in turn tells me it's Origins fault, but with no explanation. Very poor form. With this in mind, I would not use Origin again.

When we did our extension in 2016, we decided on Origin french doors because of their advertised high-end quality and 20-year warranty. Ordering Origin has turned out to be a nightmare, a waste of money, and years of regret. Please, avoid them if you can and avoid the heartache that we have had, wasting £7,000 on doors which we could have got more robust from a cheap double-glazing company.

They recommended Herts Bifold as a local installer. Their installers are also awful. We have had nothing but poor service and rudeness from them. They try to get out of everything, if they can.

Firstly, they didn't measure up correctly (luckily we spotted this), then they accidentally transposed the doors on the final blueprints- they were all opening a certain way on all the blueprints except the final version, which they were the opposite way around (which we did not spot), which they then refused to rectify the mistake until we made huge complaints and wrote several letters.

After 3 years, the door handle on one set of doors broke. After another round of angry emails, where Origin refused to take responsibility and Herts Bifold refused to do anything without being pushed, the door handles were replaced. We discovered that the problem was the flimsy one-coil return spring in the handles. You can't even get one-coil springs in this country; they are usually 2.5-5 turns. of course one thin wire is going to break easily through normal wear and tear.

A year later (now, 2020), the door handles broke again. This time we wrote to Origin to say that the fault was with the poor quality door handles and that we would like a replacement of all the handles with something more robust. They told us to speak to Herts Bifold again.

Herts Bifold asked us to fill in a whole load of paperwork and provide photos, even though I had forwarded them our emails from 2019 with all the paperwork attached.

They then refused to replace the door handle as it "wasn't broken"; until I then complained again to say that the door WAS broken because it wasn't latching because of the issue.

They've now told us they've ordered one replacement handle from Origin, even though two are broken (on the inside and on the outside). This won't be fixed for a month.

I have written to Origin, complaining that the handles are not fit for purpose under the Trades Description Act. They have responded to say that they have no problems with them and will replace them if broken.
