Drivers BEWARE Autopay glitch
TFL may cancel your Autopay account at any time, without notice and without informing you, and then fine you £90 for each separate use of the Blackwall or Silvertown Tunnel while your account is de-activated and you're not aware of it.
I thought I'd made legitimate arrangements, in good faith, to pay for my usage of the tunnels, and I had been paying regularly for two years. Then, recently, for no apparent reason TFL unilaterally de-activated my account without telling me. I only found out when the first fine arrived in the post.
I'm challenging the fine, but I urge all drivers to regularly check that their Autopay accounts are still valid and operational because it seems TFL can cancel you at any time, without notice, and fine you £90, rising to £360 per trip if you're still unaware.
New owner drove it into London
New owner drove it into London. Instead of using common sense with a bit of leniency, these fools have enforced this fine on me, leaving me further out of pocket. Vampires.

Thank you Sully for your Patience
I would like to say a big Thank You to Sully at London Bridge Station today.
I was stressed out and couldn't find the restaurant I was going too, near London Bridge. Sully helped me so patiently with the direction.
Once again TFL excelled in bad service
Once again TFL excelled in bad service. Closed the Piccadilly line from Heathrow (which happened last time I was here too), told me to pay more to go on a line I didn't want to go on (Elizabeth Line - why can they not honour the price I would have paid?!). Two people from TFL told me to pay around £16 (instead of £5 for the Piccadilly line), before one nice gentleman tells me there is a ticket for £7, but that nobody can find it on the ticket machine. He shows me how to do it, and apart from a short delay, extra walking, and a few pounds of extra cost, no more inconvenience. Which is better than last time when they all advised me I had to pay £16, so it was a lot of extra cost.
Overpriced and unreliable.
Overpriced and unreliable.
After living in London for more than 10 years, I am absolutely shocked that this price hike is allowed to continue, every year there is a price increase of ~5-6% or more, AFTER GOVERNEMENT FUNDINGS!
which means we pay for it TWICE.
The air quality in the tube is so bad that UCL determined that it is equivalent to smoking cigarette.
Buses are crowded and hot. Delays, cancellations, engineering works... you never know what you get, but you can be certain you know when you start your journey and don't know when it ends.
Rip off
Please advise how when my friend and I have travelled together during our stay in London on the tube using our phones to tap at the gates, i get charged £13 and she gets charged £9.60.
I have no understanding how you calculate your train fares for each journey.
Travellers beware and check your bank statements for fear your are being ripped off.
The most pathetic useless website ever
The most pathetic useless website ever. Just trying to pay a congestion charge from yesterday. Had to open an account. Took 4 hours for them to send account number. Go through the whole process and ‘bad gateway’ no I’ll have to expect fine! Absolutely fkn furious
I forgot to tap out my Oyster card and…
I forgot to tap out my Oyster card and was charged a £10.40 penalty. I used another contactless card for the rest of my journey. I have ended up being over £20 in debit.
I then tried to resolve the credit for both my Oyster card and contactless card. I hung on the phone for 1.5 hours, was transferred to 2 wrong departments who couldn't deal with the whole issue and am now waiting for a call back.
The original issue was my fault but I have certainly paid for that mistake!
Everything about them is Horrible.
Everything about them is Horrible.
Worst transportatiom system ever
Worst transportatiom system ever, dirty buses and trains, not accurate application that gives wrong guidance, they rub you money and no chance to try out if you took a wrong direction. Outdated transportation and very bad application that is not user friendly, i hope there could be negative rating to give to this shit
Waste if time take money that nots…
Waste if time take money that nots their staff just end the call on you
Valid appeal for PCN rejected
Valid appeal for PCN rejected. CCT of stopping in a yellow box provided. Stock response, and explanation doesn't acknowledge the point made in the original appeal. Straight money grab.
Absolute joke
As someone who has ridden the tube day in day out for the the past 15 years, this is an absolutely embarrassing company. Highest ticket prices in the world with a constantly striking staff despite having the dirtiest trains and stations as well as infrastructure that is physically incapable of running without issues.
Absolutely rubbish customer service…
I am extremely disappointed with the customer service I received today. I contacted TfL to ask about tracking my brand new Oyster card order, but the agent I spoke to sounded uninterested, groggy, and completely unhelpful as if they had just woken up and could not be bothered to assist.
I was really looking forward to receiving my new card, but this experience has completely ruined that excitement. TfL needs to provide regular, proper customer service training for all staff especially long‑standing team members so that passengers are treated with basic courtesy and respect.
I expect far better from a service that millions of people rely on every day.
The TfL system and website
My experience with the TfL system has been extremely frustrating. Rather than providing a straightforward method for motorists to comply with payment requirements, the website creates unnecessary obstacles that increase the risk of users being unfairly penalised despite making genuine efforts to pay
There are several serious shortcomings. Failure to Accommodate One-Time Users
The website appears to be designed primarily for account holders and regular users. Occasional motorists are not provided with a simple, efficient, and clearly signposted option to make a one-off payment. This is an unreasonable barrier for those who use the crossing infrequently. The Poor Accessibility for International Visitors is appalling.
As the transport authority for one of the world's leading international cities, TfL should ensure its payment systems are fully accessible to overseas visitors. Instead, the website presents significant difficulties for international users through compatibility issues with payment methods and billing address requirements. This creates confusion, inconvenience, and reputational damage to London as a welcoming destination. Also there is no adequate Support for Hire and Rental Vehicles.
The website fails to provide a clear and reliable process for people driving rental or temporary vehicles. This is a major flaw that exposes motorists to the risk of receiving Penalty Charge Notices despite attempting to comply with payment obligations. A system that penalises drivers because of poor website design is fundamentally unfair. These shortcomings suggest a serious failure to consider the needs of a diverse range of users during the design and testing process. A payment platform associated with a mandatory road charge should be intuitive, accessible, and reliable. The current system falls significantly short of that standard of service, customer experience, and website development.
It is unacceptable that drivers who are actively attempting to comply with TfL's payment requirements are met with such an ineffective and user-unfriendly system.
27th July 12.30am (28/07/26) Green Park…
27th July 12.30am (28/07/26) Green Park station - I would like to express my sincere thanks to three members of staff at Green Park Station who were on duty at approximately 12:15am on 27 July.
Two Black gentlemen and one Asian gentleman were incredibly helpful after I realised I had left my phone on the Tube. They were professional, calm, supportive and went above and beyond to assist me. They made several attempts to contact someone who had found my phone, and thanks to their efforts I was able to get it back.
Their kindness, professionalism and willingness to help during what was a very stressful situation meant a great deal to me. They are a real credit to the station and their organisation.
Thank you all so much. Your help was truly appreciated.

Disgusting London tube
Insufficient seating, poor WiFi , no air conditioning, no personal space because of serious over crowding, this is most disgusting. Not enough faclities like lifts, dangerous gaps in platform everywhere, no help for customer, buses are also more overcrowded.
