ParentShield, The UK's Child-Safe Mobile Phone Network. The network only for kids with advanced monitoring and control technology. Block or allow numbers instantly from your web portal. Set call time or spending controls. Receive word alerts to your phone if any messages to, or from the child phone contain those words. ParentShield is recommended every day by police, social workers and fostering associations as it allows carers to maintain a good overview of the types of conversations being had, and with whom. ParentShield was formed in 2017 and now protects thousands of children and young people. Word alerts allow parents to know instantly should their child receive or make a call or exchange SMS with someone new. This allows parents the opportunity to review communications and provide help, support or assistance in a timely manner if necessary. To combat SPAM calls - all ParentShield phone numbers are pre-registered with the Telephone Preference Service before they are issued. Spammers often target newly-allocated phone number ranges as they know they have some immunity against legislation that requires a number to have been registered for 30 days. ParentShield is used by over 10,000 children in the UK and is also provided in residential care situations because it provides a level of protection unavailable from a normal adult network.

Parentshield is an exceptional product as a foster carer. This has enabled us to manage safely the interactions our daughter has had with friends taking account of her additional needs. It provides an easy to use interface to discretely check in where needed without being as intrusive as taking the phone regularly. Would and have recommended many times. Customer service is awesome, so quick to respond.

Great way to start your child’s experience with a mobile device
The service works really well, we have complete control over our daughter’s first experience with a mobile phone. It’s a great way to introduce children to the responsibilities of having a mobile device - and the online chat support is instantaneous - operated by humans not chat bots. Highly recommended!

Kind, fast, honest support - the model every utility firm should follow
I have been so grateful for both the product and the supporting surrounding it that ParentShield provide. We've had a SIM for my son for a year now as he moved up to secondary school, and we've been so pleased with it that we've just bought another for my daughter who's a year behind. Some teething troubles with mobile coverage early on meant I was in touch with the customer support quite a bit initially, and was surprised how easy it was to be in touch, how eager support staff were to help, and how kind they were all along the process. On reflection, I think that ought to just be the norm, but the comparison with other, much larger utilities firms is very striking. You get none of the extremely dissatisfactory "our staff are exceptionally busy right now" response we all just have to live with elsewhere – just rapid, thoughtful and honest help. Thank you, ParentShield, for being such a fantastic model of what a utilities firm should be!

Coverage teething troubles at the start are frustrating, and we're glad the support team could work through them with you rather than leaving you to figure things out alone. Our support staff are all UK-based, and quite a few of them are parents using ParentShield SIMs themselves, which probably explains some of the patience and care you experienced. It's just easier to help when you actually understand what someone is going through.

Fantastic Product with outstanding Customer Service
We found ParentShield through extensive research because of our particular circumstances as Foster Carers of two sibling teenagers. Everything that they said that they could do was accurate and their facilities allowed us to manage what was an extremely difficult situation. Of particular importance was the ability to speak to somebody on the phone on numerous occasions and the ongoing help and support was invaluable. In this day and age when teenage mobile phone usage is a topic of continuing concern we would recommend ParentShield without hesitation.

Exceptional Customer Service
Apart from being a really user-friendly product that makes it straight-forward to safeguard our daughter's phone, the customer service from Parentshield is outstanding.
Unlike other companies - particularly those larger names - even problems that aren't directly an issue with Parentshield are sorted in absolutely record speed. The team are fast, personable, friendly, polite and just the ONE (usually the first) person you contact will take you through any issues until they are resolved, with their personal contact details available from the start. It just shows how poor customer service has become across the board with other companies. We recommend!

Best customer service ever
This is honestly the best firm I've ever dealt with in the UK. You can email actual human beings directly, they reply within minutes even out of hours, at weekends, Friday night, whenever it is. Truly impressive. The products are great, the service is impeccable, and the safety portal and set ups easy to use. Cannot praise them highly enough.

This network are amazing and so secure…
This network are amazing and so secure for my daughter to use who is 10.
I can put safe words in that alert me, you can see all texts too and from as well as listen to calls.
You can set down times, SOS number that will always be reached. Without this I wouldn't have been able to catch that my daughter was being bullied at school by another class mate. As she was masking, with the proof the school sorted it all out.
Already going to buy a SIM for my son when he reaches 10.
Must people reach for the larger mobile networks but I can not praise parentshield even.

Bullying that's being masked is so hard to spot, and having the text records and call access as evidence meant the school could act on facts rather than uncertainty. That's exactly the kind of situation these features exist for.
The Word Alerts and full call and text recording work at network level, so they can't be switched off or worked around from the handset - which makes the records reliable when you need them to be. It sounds like that made all the difference here.

Customer service really is brilliant!! We’ve had parent shield for 3 years with our eldest child and now signing up younger one as she gets her first phone. We don’t really use many if the features as mobile phone use hasn’t been an issue with our eldest. But the peace of mind is great and I absolutely LOVE being able to get in touch with a real person if I have any questions or issues which is so rare these days. And being a technophobe myself is just so hugely reassuring. It might be ‘belt & braces’ (as I have parent controls on all apps etc too). But is just so easy.

You've put it well with the "belt and braces" point. Having controls at network level means they sit underneath everything else, so if something slips through on an app side, there's still a safety net in place. And yes, our support team are real people - no chatbot, no menu tree, just someone who'll actually pick up and help. That matters a lot to people who don't want to spend half an hour troubleshooting with a machine.

Unique service for parents wanting to give their kids their first mobile in a safe and cost controlled way. Customer service is highly responsive and helpful. The SIM seems to be able to jump on different networks so more likely to end up with reception where others struggle.

You've spotted something that not everyone notices straight away. The SIM you have is what we call a Roam-Stage SIM, which can connect to whichever major UK network has the strongest signal at a given location rather than being locked to one. It does make a real difference in patchy areas.
