I called to order a test
I called to order a test, rather than ordering it online, as I wasn't in a rush, because it was a follow-up test. I did not need to receive it in two days. Molly was VERY helpful in getting the test ordered. Further, she volunteered that they could help me with finding out about insurance coverage for the test. In my prior calls, no one had offered that assistance, although the people I spoke to were knowledgeable and helpful. Molly was patient, knowledgeable, kind and super helpful. I will be prepared to do the next Sinus Key when it is due...and I will have the insurance issues worked out ahead of time. The other reviews show that there is more help available when results are back, and I will look into that, as well. MicroGenDx provided great customer service, and I was impressed with the help that I received.

Overall quick and easy process
Instructions were easy enough to follow. Had my results within 48 hrs from shipping off. Sent my results to my doctor and she was able to prescribe me some medication. I appreciates they made the process quick and easy. I’d say the only thing I would have liked was updates and confirmation from when the order shipped to me. But otherwise overall everything was great!

I have been suffering since Apr 4!
I have been suffering since Apr 4!! My doctor ordered standard tests, which came back negative for bacteria. And that was it. When I told him I still had symptoms, he referred me to Infectious Diseases. They were book 6 months out. I took matters into my own hands and signed up for a test through MicroGenDX. The results came back in days -- positive for anaerobic bacteria. Now I have something to show the doctor who will ... fingers crossed. ... take the results seriously and prescribe the proper antibiotic. I am beyond grateful for MicroGenDX for moving a diagnosis forward in days rather than in 6 months!!!

No test results in over 2 weeks....not a word
Both my husband and I sent our results in over 2 weeks ago and have never heard a thing back. Over $500 wasted down the drain.

I had been struggling with recurrent UTIs and had been on multiple courses of antibiotics. I would get some relief, but not feel completely well and was getting no help through conventional testing. my last urine analysis and urine culture through Quest actually came back negative, even though I was quite symptomatic at the time. the MicroGenDX test showed 2 different pathogens and none of the antibiotics that I had been on covered both pathogens. the report clearly showed what antibiotics would cover both pathogens and treating with the appropriate antibiotic has made all the difference in the world

It's not all in your head
I finally got an answer to my UTI symptoms after 15 months of getting dismissed by medical care providers suggesting that it was over active bladder, IC or all just in my head.

To clarify what happened, our lab ran your test twice in an effort to get your results. The initial report was inconclusive, which prompted a second run and a manual review of the raw data. Unfortunately, the team concluded that the DNA yield in the sample was too low to meet our quality control and reporting thresholds.
This means that there wasn't enough viable DNA to report findings, rather than an issue with the test itself. Though this event is rare, it does happen on occasion.
We understand this is frustrating, especially when you were expecting answers.
We'd like to make this right. Please call our Customer Service team at 1-855-208-0019 at your earliest convenience so we can provide a swift resolution. They are available M-F, 8 AM - 8 PM EST.
the test is great- swab instructions could be better
the test is great and I think its good to know more about our sinus microbiome. Got my results back quickly just remember to create an account while you’re registering your test. I deducted a star because I strongly think they should consider revising their swab test instructions. I got “non-contamination” instructions from The CIRS Lab which was to put the swab directly up my nose as far as it would go. makes the most sense.

Great question on the swabbing. The swab included with SinusKEY is designed specifically for the blow-out method, which collects mucus from the tissue. It's not intended for collecting mucus directly from the sinuses.
Sinus collection would require a different swab and should only be performed by a healthcare provider to avoid injury.
The blow-out method has been reviewed and approved by medical professionals both inside and outside of MicroGenDX before use and is preferred for patient comfort.
