Almost impossible to make contact with them once you have a policy. Every time I call they say 'they are experiencing an unusually high call volume'. When you try webchat you get 'We currently have no available agents, please contact us during office hours on 0330 024 1730.'
Will definitely not be using them again!

It took a very long time to answer my call, well over a hour.

Easy straightforward process. Competitive pricing.

I took out a motorcaravan insurance policy which started on 1.5.26. I then cancelled it 49 days later. I paid £460.41 for the policy and this was the cancellation fee breakdown:

Return Premium (GWP Inc IPT): ￡310.02
Insurer Canx Fee: ￡16.80
Addon Refund: ￡0.00
Nominal Fee Refund: ￡0.00
Discount Clawback: ￡53.45
Commission Clawback: ￡45.81
Broker Fee: ￡62.50
Refund Due: ￡131.46

So I paid £328.95 for 49 days cover. That's extortionate, immoral and unjustifiable. I'll be speaking to the insurance ombudsman about this..

If there's any possibility that you may need to cancel your policy mid term, don't use Principal insurance, or you'll get robbed, like I did..

The insurance and price is adequate. Just thought I'd comment of the ironic phone experience. While you wait (wait time estimate grows rather than shrinks... unusual) there are endless messages reiterating the exceptional personal human contact you can expect from such a caring company. Sounds good. But then when the call is answered, the response is quite the opposite; charmless, blunt, patronising, machinelike. I even wondered if I was speaking to AI. I kept checking around the room for TV cameras. I thought it had to be a wind-up. Nobody could be so intentionally unhelpful. It was laughably bad

Never buy your bike insurance of the company I a week before i went live now they said the it will take 60days before I receive my money back on the they said would take up to 5 to 7 days

The price for my bike insurance was cheaper than most which had i not had to contact them would have been given 5 star, however IF you need to contact them book a day of work as calling them expect over an hour in the que, its like Insurance Alton Towers

No no no no no no no no no no no no no do not use this so called company. They unsolicited me and gave me a really cheap price. I paid and then it started they wanted photos of my drivers licence ??? Had insurance for for vehicles for years im 71 been driving over 50 years never had this before. They said that they would cancel the policy I said yes cancel it.same emails 5 times told to cancel it.oh I did try to phone them but they didn’t answer, you try it , eventually they did cancel it and robbed me a pensioner of £55.if you read this review please tell anyone you know not to use these parasites. CHANGING MY VEHICLE ON 25TH JUNE 2026, SO ASKED FOR A NEW PRICE, CAME BACK WITH A TOTALLY UNREALISTIC QUOTE - TO ENSURE YOU WONT CONTINUE THE INSURANCE
CANCELLED THE POLICY,THEN TO BE TOLD DESPITE HAVING USED LESS THAN 3 MONTHS OF THE POLICY THERE WAS NO REFUND DUE.
PERSONALLY AVOID IF YOU COULD CHANGE YOUR VEHICLE MID TERM
THEY HAVE EFFECTIVELY CHARGED ME OVER £100 TO CANCEL THE POLICY
TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE

It was so easy to do online got my quote paid and recived my docs by email within minutes

My son went on to Go Compare for van Insurance He put in his details but declined with producing his license as we don’t want every one passing his details a round. Principal Insurance were third lowest so we went with them on line as it was late .On the 08/06/2026 payed £1200 by Bank card.The next day got a email asking for the license details phoned them to say we don’t want to proceed and will go with the other insurance company we have phoned and emailed them several times about my money the said I will take six weeks to return my money Looks like a doggie company to me use someone else’s money to stay afloat

Got quoted for van insurance, phoned them up to get said quite and they told meit would be £700 more than what they quoted me on the website. All the details I gave them were the same as what I put on the website. Completely wasted my time. Dont know why it's not classed as false advertising

O NOT TRUST - Took out insurance for my bike a couple of weeks ago as the reviews on here seemed good and the premium (86.60 for the year) seemed good. As others have said, can only contact by phone and that is a nightmare. Yesterday I sold the bike and rang to cancel the policy and they said I’m lucky as I cancelled within 14 days so the cancellation is £78!!! So cancellation within 14 days is 90% if my premium.
