Great upfront service - a little slow in getting the report back to me (i am still awaiting)

My 12 year old daughter met with Julie at ProblemShared for an SpLD assessment - The assessment was on line and we had printed some assessment activities in advance. It went really smoothly and she was made to feel extremely comfortable. Julie spent time with me afterwards explaining her findings and sent a thorough assessment. Both my daughter and I felt extremely relieved following the assessment - both with the explanation and diagnosis and with the professionalism with which it was handled

All the staff are super supportive and very kind, I was assessed by Sarah and she was amazing throughout the whole process, genuinely lovely person. Thank you.
Accessed through right to choose, around 6 month wait which was so much better than years through NHS.

Would just like to say how lovely and knowledgeable Melanie Giles is (adhd medication prescriber) I have had 3 different prescribers since I started my titration period, all very nice but really felt Melanie explained things really nicely and showed me a lot of empathy and understanding which was lovely of her

I accessed ProblemShared via an NHS referral and the support, kindness and professionalism of all the ProblemShared staff, in particular my assessor, has been outstanding. I have felt and continue to feel very well cared for and the access to all of the information post-diagnosis too is wonderful and has really helped me to process my diagnosis and understand more about ADHD. Throughout the whole ADHD Assessment Sharon was very helpful and caring. She was able to answer all my questions and was very through in getting the information from me and my Mother.

I was diagnosed with combined-type ADHD last month and the process has been a positive, relieving and validating experience. Ruth W was absolutely instrumental in my care; her process was very thorough and seamless. While she was extremely professional, she was also incredibly warm, accepting, nonjudgmental, personable and informed. She really made me feel seen, heard and understood. The assessment was extremely through and Ruth not only met with me, she called my informant and spoke extensively to best understand my condition. She guided the discuss in a proficient and caring way. I completely appreciate how daunting it is to choose a provider but Problemshared genuinely have been excellent. I am now on the waiting list for medication. My only criticism is that I wish I could keep Ruth long-term as an ADHD therapist forever haha! I couldn’t recommend the service enough - particularly Ruth.

I recently got diagnosed with both adhd and autism through problem shared. Both assessments were fantastic and answered a lot of the questions I had been dealing with for my whole 35 years. I would highly recommend problem shared to anyone who is thinking of having a assessment done. I had my adhd assessment first and the assessor recognised that I had autistic traits and advised me to have a autism assessment, which I went on to do. The assessors are highly knowledgeable and recognise things in yourself that you may not realise. They are calm, polite and professional. I would highly recommend.

In general, the assessment experience was positive. The assessor was supportive and clear. He noticed I was tired after 1 hour of the assessment and kindly offered to complete the assessment next day.
The only con was a very long assesment for about 3 hours. It was really exhausting for me.

The specialist who carried out my ADHD assessment was absolutely lovely, professional, and supportive throughout the process. I have no complaints about her at all, and she made what was a very nerve-racking experience feel much more comfortable.

The reason I have given 3 stars rather than 5 is due to the poor quality of the video consultation. The connection was very unstable, with the audio and video repeatedly cutting in and out. I am confident this was not an issue with my own internet connection, as I attended the appointment from my workplace and use Microsoft Teams video calls regularly without any problems. Although I was able to hear most of what was being said, the poor connection added unnecessary stress to an already important and emotional appointment.

If consultations are being carried out remotely, I believe greater care should be taken to ensure clinicians have access to a reliable internet connection so that patients can fully engage in the assessment without technical difficulties.

My other concern is the lack of follow-up after receiving my diagnosis. It has now been almost a week since I was diagnosed with Predominantly Inattentive ADHD, and apart from receiving a letter confirming my diagnosis for my employer, I have not heard anything further.

During the assessment, medication was mentioned as a possible option, but I have not received any information about the next steps, the treatment process, or what support is available. Being diagnosed with ADHD later in life can be quite overwhelming, and at the moment I feel somewhat unsupported and unsure where to go from here.

I would have expected some form of follow-up communication outlining the available options, providing guidance on next steps, or simply checking in after the diagnosis. Receiving such significant news and then having little or no contact afterward has been disappointing.

I would greatly appreciate a follow-up discussion so I can better understand my options and what the process looks like from here.

Couldn't thank the team more, for both my ADHD and Autism assessments. All the staff are wonderful, kind, welcoming and warm. The assessments are just like conversations and are nothing to be scared about. If there is anything you dont want to discuss or do, they dont force you.

Its a wonderfully simple process and so easy, there is nothing to worry about with any of these people involved :D

The best bit is that they give you a understanding of yourself without being judgmental thoughtful and understanding

Would definitely recommend, on the basis of two adult referrals (so having seen the ASD and ADHD sides). Pre-assessment forms are well designed to draw out relevant information, i.e. even though the diagnostic scripts any provider would be obliged to use are a bit outdated they're likely to cover all of the relevant areas service users want to input on. Very pleasant and experienced assessor with the opportunity to have a conversation after. It's nice to see that signposted post-diagnosis support materials include a lot of modern and well-regarded sources that you may already have some familiarity with. Waiting list about 9-10 months, but that's not for priority or private cases and it reflects the state of the NHS, not providers working with them. I should say I'm used to working with business processes of large organisations, and anything in this area is likely to be scary/overwhelming to a lot of people, so where possible try to be kind to yourselves, loved ones and people trying to make things work on the other side.

We had a great experience with Problemshared. Emma explained everything to us clearly. She pitched instructions perfectly for my neurodivergent child to comprehend. She gently encouraged him with age appropriate language and enthusiasm. She was kind and patient throughout.

Her explanation of the report afterwards was targeted to the stage my son is at and relevant to his current needs.

Could not recommend enough. I was referred to Problem Shared on August 20th after a doctors appointment a couple days prior, and received an assessment time and date a week later, finally being assessed on Sept 17 (less than a MONTH after my initial refferral). The process was extremely smooth sailing!
