REGISTRATION 

If you read this, you probably are a small business owner having also received a letter that looks exactly like a government bill except IT IS NOT and you DO NOT have to pay them anything. The format and the wording used implicitly suggest that the bill relates to the “annual review fee” directly payable to ASIC as shown on the invoice statement attached to ASIC’s company statement that your business will be issued each year - this is misleading and deceptive. How the authorities are not actively pursuing this “Registration” business that evidently acts in bad faith and bad moral is beyond comprehension.

Obviously we are not customer of yours, and will NEVER be - this is the reason why it is unethical from you to send invoice to businesses with which you have NO existing business relationship. As to your request via Trustpilot for more of our contact details, you can keep dreaming. Learn to be accountable and stop pretending to be an authority of any form.

As clearly you have copied & pasted the same response as to most other consumers, it is apparent that you also have to learn to be accurate, exhaustive, and factual - these are extremely worrying professional shortcomings in your line of business.
Since you clearly need some help, here goes:
. Are we customers of yours? No.
. Have you sent us an invoice-looking document without having any existing business relationship with us? Yes!
. Have you tried to make your document appear like being issued by a government authority? Yes!
Your tiny disclaimer in the footnote that "(you) are independent of ASIC" and that "(we) do not have to pay any money" are evidences that you are fully aware of the aforementioned misleading and deceptive practices.
Oh, one last thing - not only you have gathered more than 250 1-star reviews across Google reviews, ProductReview, and Trustpilot in the last 12 months but you have also breached Trustpilot's terms of use for "displaying Trustpilot content in a way that could be MISLEADING. This could look like showing an inaccurate star rating in sales materials, displaying reviews they’re not permitted to use on their site, and more." Looks like you are not learning much.

Scum of the earth company. Completely misleading and adding urgency by having a $50 discount for early payment. Don't know how they are allowed to keep running, they should be ashamed of themselves.

This is a scam you do not need to pay for this service. The letter looks official and is designed to make you feel like it is a requirement to engage in their service. This has a classic phishing feel! And I know this as I teach people to avoid these scams. Shamefull behavior.

WARNING TO AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS OWNERS

Be extremely careful dealing with reg.com.au. (Registration) !!!!!!

I received what appeared to be an official ASIC-related renewal invoice for $499 and genuinely believed I was paying my annual ASIC business renewal fee.

The invoice, wording and website presentation closely resembled official ASIC communications and created the impression that payment was compulsory and directly linked to ASIC.

Only afterwards did I discover:

the actual ASIC fee is significantly lower, ($329) this company is NOT ASIC, and I had never knowingly signed up for or authorised them to act on my behalf and charge $170 for submitting my renewal on my behalf.

I never signed any agreement, accepted a quote or appointed them as my ASIC agent.

Their phone system is also handled through an automated AI-style response system that redirects you to ticket-based communication.

** DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR PARTIAL REFUND OFFER!! Go directly to your bank and dispute the transaction, I received a full refund.

I strongly encourage all business owners to carefully check any ASIC-related invoices before making payment and to compare fees directly on the official ASIC website.

I have now reported this matter to Scamwatch, Report Cyber, ASIC and Fair trading.

REGISTRATION is a deceptively named business that preys on people paying invoices without reading them.

All this mob are doing is theft. Very glad to have googled this and discovered what a scam this is.

How is this legal? Whoever owns REGISTRATION should be in JAIL.

Not a active customer is true, I did not pay reg.com.au money - But, you have NO legitimate customers.

You have people you have deceived into paying you with official looking letters, preying on people not reading the tiny little text that says it isn't a bill.

And then links scam.com.au. Which primarily has reviews on them. And nearly every article links to reg.com.au. Trying to pretend that you don't also run that domain.

Rotten to the core. I can't even imagine having such a low degree of morality.

Not technically a scam but totally unethical what they are doing!! I receive these letters multiple times a year and they are clearly created to trick people into believing they are from government.

They do this with both business name renewals and company reviews.

Use the ASIC website directly and save yourself the money. For example, they charge around $99 for a business name renewal when ASIC charges about $45 directly. Such a shame, so many new business owners would be falling for this.

Scammers , misleading letter looks like asic but they are not. I checked these guys 5 star reviews and i noticed many users have written review instead of renew thats shows how legitimate this business is.

What a load of garbage. Why does the government let these people to scam people??

Misleading or deceptive conduct is unlawful under Australian Consumer Law.

Zero ethics or integrity, this is just a scam company to skim money from businesses for very little effort. They don't even have customer service agents, they use AI bots and they never respond to feedback so they are clearly just milking this for all of the cash they can and then they will shut it down and try another scam.

SCAM & very deceitful. looks like gov letter - it's not. pay via ASIC and it's much cheaper.

Received a letter in the mail which seemed like a invoice. Unknowingly thought I had to pay. Spoke to my accountant who had already started the process.

As per their Terms they have a 48 hour money back guarantee. I asked for a refund within 24 hours of paying and they are saying I am not able to get one.

Stay away from this Company and speak to your Accountant first.

This company preys on new companies/businesses. They send a formal appearing invoice to your business for company registration fees with a healthy fee on top then hope to catch people out who a dumb enough to pay them (me). Extremely unethical - I dont know who would actually want to run a business that survives on catching people out. Refused to give a refund.

Its a SCAM.
My and any good accountant will send you out reminders of this nature for $0.
Just pay ASIC direct and save yourself $100 - $150.

My parents thought it was from ASIC. I can't believe that they can't be fined for misleading conduct.

We received a letter to our business, however I was
a) lucky I had seen an online social media post warning of this
b) the price seemed higher than our annual fees
c) was unclear why we hadn't had official comms sent to our accountant
d) read closer as something felt off and I was right
