Revelator has a saying: "You are not just a client, you're a partner." We’ve been with them for nearly two years now, and that could not be more true.
Whenever I have a question or issue, they get back to me the same day or next business day. They don’t demonize my ideas, and they’re objective about our goals for scaling catalog.
The one thing they don’t do is let you run around like a cowboy. The music industry may be the Wild West, but the team at Revelator takes their connections to DSPs very seriously. If you’re getting pushback, there will always be a clear reason for it.
There are few white-label services that offer true unlimited scale while still letting you do your own inspection. Once I read the DSP style guides and the entire Revelator FAQ, avoiding issues became simple—we just had to implement systems that met all those requirements.
We’re going strong with nearly 10,000 artists and five times that many songs. The longer we stay with them, the fewer issues we have.
I was also fortunate enough to meet some of the team in person at Music Biz this year in Atlanta—they’re even more personable… well, in person.
Leaving our company name anonymous due to the unrelenting anger I’m seeing in one-star reviews. Who are you going to believe more? Someone who was terminated after being caught for something, or someone in charge of a substantial mid-level roster who has nothing but good things to say—and active access?
Times are changing. This isn’t 2016. The priority is on organic, genuine catalog alongside public-facing, real artists. Even with all our songs live in stores, Revelator forwards anywhere from 5–12 fines in a given month—out of over 55,000 songs.
My point is, there are absolutely ways to avoid issues at scale, and there are clear indicators of negligence regardless of how large your catalog is.
