All good from a delivery and product perspective, the only thing which stopped me giving a 5 was it would have been good to have had some form of personal confirmation that petrol and oil had been added to the mower and that it had been tested and adjusted for optimal performance

Item was due for delivery 3/4/5 August
Item was due for delivery 3/4/5 August. These dates were requested as I have hospital appointments and treatment in July. I started getting text messages about item out for delivery etc and got concerned that my delivery dates were not being adhered to. I made a call to you and your agent informed me that my delivery dates of 3/4/5 August would be maintained as per my request on placing the order. Appearently these text are just internal memos and the item will be delivered as requested on 3/4/5 August. I was surprised to get a text from Palletways on Monday morning 20th July stating delivery was imminent! A again called you and spoke to your agent on this matter and he told me he would contact the delivery contractor and re arrange delivery on the appropriate days. I asked to be kept updated. I was not. At approx 14.45hrs on 20th July a Rammage haulage truck arrived at my house with the delivery. The driver called me and wanted to drop the heavy package! I explained I was at the hospital and unable to take delivery. I also informed him of the 3/4/5 August delivery dates. I viewed this from my phone in the hospital as it’s linked to my cctv system. This appears to be a total breakdown of communications on delivery and I believe I’m intitled to a full explanation and apology. I again repete the original delivery instructions: 3/4/5 August. Please confirm that will be carried. I’m really disappointed and been put to additional stress on this matter. Regards, walter

Unacceptable Delivery Delay
A week after being told my order had left the warehouse I have still neither received the goods nor any communication from the nominated carrier (FedEx) to suggest when delivery might take place. On the same day I placed an order with a US firm for goods which have managed to cross the Atlantic, clear customs and be delivers to me. Really not good enough on the part of Ron Smith Ltd.
True to word Ron did deliver on 20th July so customer now happy. Lesson to be learned here is clarity of communication. Had the invoice I received specified a local delivery (rather than referring to 3rd party carrier) or if Ron Smith had contacted me to say this was now to be local delivery I would have been reassured instead of which I became increasingly frustrated by the inability of a third party carrier to find any trace of a delivery - not surprising given they had not been contracted to deliver in the first place!

Ron Smith poor service.
Ron Smith, great at selling things to you but useless at after sales care.
Brand new Echo strimmer supplied by RS used 3 times developed a running fault. RS took a £40 deposit to look at it. They decided it was a fuel issue which had caused damage to the carburettor so outside warranty. £214 quoted to fix
I took it away bought a £12 replacement carburettor refuelled and it’s running brilliantly! 10 minute REALLY EASY FIX!
Not the first time I’ve had issues with RS but it will be the last. Avoid is my advice. Plenty of other dealers in Herefordshire!

We're sorry to hear you're disappointed with your experience.
When the machine was brought to us with a running fault, we advised that it sounded like a fuel-related issue, which is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. As with all machines brought in for diagnosis, we charge an inspection fee to cover the technician's time in identifying the fault. If the fault is found to be a valid warranty claim, this fee is refunded.
Our diagnosis identified a faulty carburettor caused by a fuel-related issue. As an authorised Echo dealer, we only quote and fit genuine Echo parts and follow the manufacturer's repair procedures. Our quotation therefore included a genuine Echo carburettor, new gasket, fuel filter and labour to complete the repair.
We appreciate that you've chosen to fit an aftermarket carburettor yourself and that this has resolved the issue. However, as an authorised Echo dealer, we cannot fit or recommend non-genuine parts, and using them may affect the manufacturer's warranty. We can only carry out repairs using genuine Echo parts in line with the manufacturer's requirements.
While we appreciate your feedback, we stand by the diagnosis and the advice we provided.
